Vehicle purchased 9/1/24 from Courtesy Hyundai of Tampa. Dealership failed to file registration/tags until 10/4/24. 7/12/25: Vehicle experienced involuntary acceleration and braking, resulting in impact with my mother’s home. 7/16/25: Dealer issued written report stating vehicle was operating nor
... mally and documented a recall-related display/audio/camera software update. 8/14/25: Hyundai engineering inspection performed without my knowledge. No report has ever been released. 8/27/25: Hyundai issued corporate denial, blaming driver error and stating braking/acceleration systems were normal. 12/5/25: Second involuntary braking incident at highway speed on I-275. Five uncommanded braking events over ~20 miles. Service Manager stated failure was due to sensor/camera malfunction and instructed that the vehicle should not be driven and to tow immediately. Despite this, the vehicle had been released into roadway operation. VIN lookup shows an open, unrepaired federal recall (24V879000 / Recall 271) for the rearview camera system, marked Recall Incomplete, despite the dealer’s documentation that recall-related camera/software work was completed on 7/16/25. BBB Auto Line denied my claim only because the vehicle was outside Florida Lemon Law eligibility. No safety determination was made. Hyundai released no engineering, sensor, or camera data despite an engineering inspection. This vehicle has experienced repeated involuntary braking and acceleration at highway speed, involving braking, camera, and automatic emergency braking systems, creating a serious risk of loss of control, collision, injury, or death. Despite repeated failures, contradictory diagnostics, withheld engineering data, and an open federal recall, the vehicle was released back into public roadway operation. I request that NHTSA formally investigate this safety defect.Read more

On my way home from work it started to rain, and my pre-collision light came on. The rain slowed down as I was home put the vehicle in park to take a picture of the pre-collision light, and the light went off. This happens around October to December of 2024. One day in January 2025 after church on a sunny day as soon as I put my vehicle in gear the pre-collision light came on again which I was able to get a picture of. Each time I checked windshield and front emblem and found nothing wrong. I took the vehicle to Hendrick Toyota to have the pre-collision light checked January 23, 2025. I was told no codes were found and the reason my light came on it because my vehicle sensor is dirty. I told the service adviser when my light went of the vehicle was clean including all the sensor. The only reason the vehicle was dirty was because it had snowed the day before and I had to drive in the snow, slush, and salt to get to the dealership. I also informed them this not my first vehicle with forward Collison sensor. I had owned 3 Toyota Corolla with the same tocology. I was also told by another service advisor that She has seen other Rav4 with pre-collision light problems. About one week after dealership checked the pre-collision sensor it came on again and once again, I checked and made sure all sensors were clean. April 4/28/2025 I brought the vehicle to the dealership again to have the pre-collision sensor checked. This time they said they found codes from way back. I asked them how far back and were these codes back from my first service. Service adviser didn't know. But on my paper receipt it said they didn't find any codes but notice a very small rock chip in the glass and blamed it on that, which was not there when my problem had started with my issue of the pre-collision light. They said replace the windshield and that should fix it. I was told by another service advisor,Read more

Question 1 answer: Last month, the check engine light on my 2018 Ford Edge came on. So, we took it to the Ford dealership for repairs 0n 5/3/2023. The service center said that there was a problem with one of the spark plugs and replaced it. The cost was $193.47. Following the repair, the check engi
... ne light was reset and the car ran smoothly. I took the car on a trip and drove it around 1,000 miles. The check engine light came on again. I returned the car to the same dealership service center on 5/26/2023. Ford told me (see receipt) there was a code P0302 and P0316 and indicated cylinder #2 was misfiring. Receipt said checked all cylinders and pistons for discoloration. Cylinder #2 was badly discolored. Vehicle has coolant intrusion in cylinders - needs motor. This bill was $180. Service desk personnel asked whether I had an extended warranty since vehicle was at 68,352 miles. I said, "no." Service desk told me that I needed a new motor and the cost would be around $10,000! Service desk also told me that this was a common problem with several Ford models including the Edge, Focus, and Fusion. Yes, it is available for inspection upon request unless we sell or trade it. Question 2: The only safety issue may be that I could have been out on the road if the engine failed. Question 3: See Question 1 answer and attached receipt from car dealership service center Question 4: No, unless you consider the Ford dealership service center as "the manufacturer." Question 5: Prior to each car dealership service center visit, the car ran rough upon starting and the check engine light came on and stayed on until it went to the repair shop. It takes time to get an appointment scheduled. So, each time the situation occurred, it took approximately one week to schedule a repair visit. Also, please note that the address shown on the dealership receipt is my previous address. I've entered my current address where prompted.Read more

The airbags will not deploy until this is fixed and the car is therefore dangerous to drive. The camera is on back order and it will be at least a month before it can be repaired.Read more

My 2019 Hyundai Accent engine failed at 65,004 miles. I've taken my car to a local Hyundai dealership from December 2020 up until it failing in December 2021, I've had an appointment at least once a month for my check engine light being on. They scheduled me my first appointment December 2020 and la
... ter told me they fixed the issue only for it to come back on a couple days later. I call them again letting them know and the schedule me again, same thing happens and the light comes back on a week later. This was an ongoing issue, the dealership kept telling me they fixed it and to make sure the gas cap was tightened but they could never stop my check engine light from coming back on. They told me back in September of 2021 that I had a large evap leak. When it came to finding this leak they were never successful. Fast forward to December 2021 my car started making these weird noises and I immediately brought it up to the same local Hyundai that I've been taking it to since day one. They tell me there is nothing they can do for me since they are booked up until Feb. 2022 and so were all the other dealerships near me. I understood and left then a week or two after this my car completely stops in the middle of the expressway. I had to get my car towed to Hyundai for them to tell e my engine seized, coincidental right? After an entire year of Hyundai not being able to find the issue and fix it my engine magically seizes, a 2019 Hyundai at that meaning the car is still fairly new. The entire time I was taking it there I was under warranty up until 5,004 miles ago. The powertrain warranty for a used car ends at 60,000 miles and now Hyundai expects me to pay for something I had no fault in. I have emailed, complained and spoke to almost everyone I can about this issue. I just want justice to be rightfully served and for Hyundai to cover all expenses towards my new engine replacement.Read more
