On April 9, 2026, my daughter came in from school and parked her Honda Pilot at about 5:10PM. At about 7:03PM, my wife and I were sitting outside and heard a loud POP, it sounded like a car backfiring. I went to investigate and saw a little smoke and a small orange glowing piece of something on the
... ground under the vehicle towards the front of the vehicle. I grab a fire extinguisher from my work truck and went towards the vehicle. The car was locked and I saw flames under the hood standing by the driver door looking down where the windshield wipers are. I used the extinguisher till it was empty and the flames kept getting worse. I just walked away and my wife was already calling 911. No one was hurt no damage to any exposures. My daughter did not indicate that anything was wrong with the vehicle. No lights on, no smells, everything ran fine. It had 154,000 miles on it. I do have RING video footage of the event. I did file a claim with my insurance and sent them the video footage.Read more

In November 2024, the vehicle indicated "add coolant". The vehicle was brought to Mercedes Benz of Scottsdale for servicing. The dealership apparently added coolant without advising me that the B250-E has a 100% chance of failure to the Drive Unit / coolant intrusion unless a small part is replace

It nearly caused a severe accident. Mercedes Benz USA and the MB Scottsdale dealership have refused to cover the cost of a repair (near $7,000) or replace the vehicle (that is completely inoperable). I was disturbed to learn that a failure rate to the Large Drive Module is ONE HUNDRED PERCENT. This same problem exists for early Toyota RAV4 EVs and some Teslas. The vehicle comes with a panoramic sunroof and there is a ~8inch wide piece of glass that is between the windshield and the sunroof. While driving on the highway, at approximately 80mph, with no other cars or hazards in front of the vehicle, this piece of glass shattered. We heard a loud popping sou
... nd, immediately followed by shattering/cracking noises. It was not struck by any rocks or debris. After arriving at my location, the vehicle was immediately inspected at a Hyundai dealership where the determined the damage to be a manufacturing defect. This damage decreases the structural integrity of the vehicle and subjects it to water and electrical damage. There are multitudes of similar reports on forums across the internet. The damage currently remains present on the vehicle and photos have been taken. The damage has been assessed by two Hyundai dealerships but an insurance claim has not been filed as I am currently seeking the damage be covered under the basic 5yr/60,000 mile warranty.Read more

My Ford Escape was fitted with two Cooper tires (235/55 R 17) that had to be replaced with less than 20k miles on them. After using the tires in normal city/highway situations, both tires started to bulge causing vibration when driving the vehicle. This was due to the belts breaking within the tire.
... While this specific tire is not currently under recall, I believe it should be. There is no reason these tires should've worn out so quickly and it sounds like the exact same issue many of their other tires currently under recall have. They are well under their warranty of 80k miles, but I will not put another Cooper tire on my car. I've only included the TIN from one tire, because I do not have the TIN for the first one that bulged. It has already been removed and disposed of. This happened to both of my Coopers in each rear position of my car.Read more

Hello, To whom this may concern, The ABS light turned on the dashboard on a Tuesday evening. My wife kept driving. In the next couple of days, it would feel like the car was all over the road, under braking. It seemed very hard to take off. On Friday, I was outside and heard the car was making a no
... ise. As an automotive technician, I knew the ABS module was cycling nonstop. I pulled the fuse out of the fuse panel to make sure it wouldn't catch fire. We took the car back to the dealer when the bulletin came out for these cars catching fire due to an ABS issue years ago. I went to the dealer on that Saturday and informed them of the ABS module cycling nonstop. They told me that the bulletin had been done already and there was nothing they could do for me. I called Hyundai customer support, and they forced me to pay a diagnostic charge of $220 to tell me it was a failure internally in the ABS module and that they wouldn't cover the repairs. I found it very surprising that Hyundai only had to change a fuse to prevent cars from catching fire. It doesn't make sense to me how the NHTSA allowed them to only change a fuse and not the module that Hyundai said was faulty. This puts every car that I drive next to in danger, with the module going off nonstop while I drive down the road. This has all happened in the last month. Please hold Hyundai truly accountable for this nonsense. It is unacceptable that they can get away with just changing a fuse to prevent a fire, and not fix the actual issue, the ABS module. Thank you,Read more

My name is [XXX] , and my wife and I own a 2023 Honda Ridgeline that we purchased in October 2023. The automatic headlight dimming function has not worked properly since purchasing. The automatic function is very erratic. The lights will not automatically brighten when on a really dark road, and at
... times have switched to high beam within 100 feet of meeting another vehicle and remain bright. The function also switches from bright to dim very frequently when driving down the road and no other vehicles around. The lights also switch erratically when going past a road sign, reflector pole, lights at a house you may be passing, etc. My big concern is the lights switching to high beam while approaching another vehicle. I can't count the times this has happened. I have taken our Ridgeline back to Gary Force Honda in Bowling Green, Kentucky where we purchased it. The service advisor that assisted us stated that Honda knows of the problem, however, there is no fix. I inquired about a safety recall for this problem and the gentleman acted as though it was no big deal. It probable isn't a big deal until a deadly accident occurs because of a malfunctioning system. I even mentioned that I expect more especially when you spend $48,000 for a vehicle. Again, the service advisor acted as though his hands are tied. Needless to say, we left the dealership with the same problem that took us in. Attached is a picture taken at approximately 1830 hrs on [XXX] on our isolated road with no street lights, street signs or anything to cause a problem. As you will see, the lights will not switch to bright on this dark road. Please help!! INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Rogue Sport 2017, 52K miles: The A/C was not blowing and I took it into Firestone where they said it was a weak air compressor (this shouldn't be the case on a low mileage car). A week later the hood started smoking and upon inspection the coolant level was 1/4 tank and the engine malfunction ligh
... t was on. I took it to and independent service center, Bass Auto (Nolensville Road, Nashville TN) and they said it was NOT SAFE to drive (engine can overheat and catch fire) due to a Radiator Coolant Fan (part # 214816MA0B or 214816MA0A) and that they have had to fix many of the these. The fan is responsible for blowing the cold air from the AC and keeping the engine cool so poses risk of engine failure. Looking at Reddit and facebook groups there are many people that have this issue on low mileage Rogue/Rogue Sports (Years 2017 - 2020) and there is a class action lawsuit that was filed in the State of Tennessee for this issue (XXX et al vs. Nissan - link below). Picked up our brand new Winnebago in Boise, ID on [XXX]. While en route to our home in the Seattle area I noticed a loud flapping noise while driving on the highway. I could see the plexiglass window that is part of the RV coach door was coming loose and flapping in the wind. Upon further inspectio

I put tape on the door to hold the plexiglass in place until I could make more permanent repairs. This part coming completely loose on the highway is a serious hazard to others driving nearby. It could also be disorienting to the driver of the RV and potentially cause distraction that could lead to an accident. I have read on Winnebago forums that this is a common problem with the style of coach door used on this year/model. Car reported an engine restarter issue (with battery symbol) and recommended to contact the dealer. Car next shut down automatic restart system, and air conditioning stopped working. Within a short period of time (same day), the car listed a red battery symbol and advised to stop the car. After doin
... g so and contacting the Audi roadside, the car was listing a series of issues on multiple symptoms while also saying in the warning message "still okay to drive". These systems included steering, braking, and what seemed to be other sensors the car powers. Finally (and within 5 minutes of the previous message of being okay to drive), the warnings were continuous and started including the transmission. The car stopped accelerating (we were on the expressway) and we thankfully got to the side of the road. This was an enormously dangerous situation as the car became fully disabled and we were subject to limited options of relief from a major traffic area. Within 30 minutes of being disabled, no electrical charge was present in the car, including emergency flashers, making the situation more dangerous as it was nighttime, so we had to abandon the car and walk down the expressway to find a hotel. Could not even put the car in neutral for the tow. Service is initially reporting a failure of the restart generator. This appears to be an alarmingly common issue with Audis.Read more

On my way home from work I heard a knocking sound coming from the engine while on the highway the vehicle slowed down at 40 miles per hour then the from end dipped then return in an upright position. The vehicle suddenly lost power the engine would not turn over. There were no warning engine light

I had to pay the highway tow truck to get me off he highway and then my insurance tow transported my vehicle to Queens. Galaxy Auto completed diagnostic test and informed me the engine is no good, basically the engine seized. I reached out to KIA headquarters via email no response to the situation at hand. I would never purchase another KIA vehicle and I warned my friends and family to stay away from KIA brands. Shame on you KIA. Shame on you KIA.Read more

My car stopped accelerating while I was on the expressway. The report shows that my car was in good condition. They later told me that my engine gave out. They told me that several 2016 Hyundai Accents have been having this issue. This needs to be recalled.
Incident date: Aug 6, 2020
During hot/warm weather, typically 65 degrees or hotter, as soon as I turn on my car, the traction control light, the ABS light, and emergency brake light comes on. When this happens, the speedometer does not work. The gas level on the screen will also fluctuate, as well as the odometer stops counti
... ng miles. The car will still drive normal with all these specific lights, but is obviously extremely dangerous as the speedometer does not work. Sometimes when this issue is happening, if I drive around for 10 minutes, the speedometer will start working again and all the lights go out besides the traction control light. If I then find a spot to turn off my car and on again, it goes back to normal with no lights illuminated on the dashboard, the speedometer works, and the gas gauge goes back to what it is supposed to be at. However, at the same time, the issue might seemed to have fixed itself, but then will start happening again when I’m in the middle of driving. I tried taking it to Hyundai, as at the time this first began happening my car was under warranty still, and they told me my ABS connection was corroded, so they put in a new one. This did not fix the issue at all and the issue started back up again not even 30 minutes after leaving Hyundai. I had to leave town and couldn’t get the issue checked out again right after. This all started happening when my car was around 57,000 miles. I now have almost 75,000 miles and the problem still occurs. I have noticed that this only occurs when it is hot/warm outside and the car sits for a little, as stated above. I live in NY, so during the colder winter months, this issue never happens. This all is very worrisome when your speedometer stops working out of no where, or having the thought that it’ll get worse somehow when I’m driving at higher speeds, then all of this will put myself and others in danger on the road.Read more
