New England Wheels (New England) is recalling certain model year 2006-2014 Ford E-250, E-350, and 2015 Ford Transit vans equipped with certain model S2005, S2010, S5005, S5010, S5505, and S5510 wheelchair lifts by Ricon. The platform side plate of the affected wheelchair lifts may crack. Additionally, the lifts are equipped with folding link arms that may have pivot holes that are too big, allowing the bearings to move out of position.
Remedy: New England will notify owners, and Ricon dealers will inspect the link arms for damage or for displaced bearings. The platform will be inspected for cracks. Any damaged parts will be replaced, free of charge. The recall began on June 29, 2016. Owners may contact New England customer service at 1-800-886-9247. Roush Performance Products, Inc. (Roush) is recalling certain model year 2010-2012 Ford E-150 Wagons and Cargo Vans, E-250 Cargo Vans and Extended Cargo Vans, E-350 Wagons, Extended Wagons, Cargo Vans, and Extended Vans, and E-450 Cutaway models. These models were modified by Roush to be equipped with certain propane fuel system conversion kits manufactured January 2011 to August 2012 with an aluminum fuel line fitting. Due to a reaction between the different metals, the affected kits may develop a propane leak where the aluminum fuel line fitting contacts the brass supply valve housing.
Remedy: Roush will notify owners and will replace the aluminum fuel line fittings with new stainless steel fittings, free of charge. The recall began on September 1, 2014. Owners may contact Roush customer service at 1-800-597-6874.

Over time, and with frequent use, the roll stop latches on the outer barrier of the lifts in these vans may become bent or misaligned.
Remedy: Braun Corporation notified all of the vehicle owners, and Advanced Wheels replaced the recalled parts with new parts, free of charge. Owners may contact Advanced Wheels customer service at 1-860-653-8064.

The vehicles are equipped with certain Ricon S series and K Series wheelchair lifts with an optional armored pendant cable. The armored cable may be positioned such that it does not clear the wheelchair lift.

Additionally, the contact stated that while driving uphill, the vehicle would lose power while in 3rd and 4th gears. There was no further information provided. The local dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 145,000.

SINCE BUYING THE VEHICLE 2 YEARS AGO, I HAVE DRIVEN 13,000 MILES ON THE TIRES, AND THERE ARE STILL 12/32" TREAD DEPTH, EVEN ACROSS THE TREAD ON ALL 4 TIRES. I HAD THE TIRES INSPECTED BEFORE A TRIP, AND I WAS ADVISED TO REPLACE THE TIRES DUE TO EXCESSIVE WEATHER CHECKING / CRACKING. THAT IS WHEN I DID AN INTERNET SEARCH AND FOUND THE ABOVE CITED RECALL. EVIDENTLY THE TIRES RECALLED WERE LIMITED TO THE 3RD WEEK OF 2012, AND MY TIRES WERE MANUFACTURED IN THE 8TH WEEK OF 2012. UNIROYAL/MICHELIN HAS REFUSED TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE TIRES. I NEED HELP. PLEASE SEE THE PHOTOS. THERE IS NO WAY THAT I COULD TAKE A TRIP WITH MY FAMILY IN THE VAN, WITH THESE AWEFUL DEFECTIVE TIRES ON THE ROAD.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A SPARK PLUG WAS BLOWN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOUR TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

3 OUT OF 5 TIRES FROM THE SAME RUN DELAMINATED AND TWO OF THEM BLEW OUT CAUSING BODY DAMAGE TO MY VAN. FIRST EVENT HAPPENED IN JULY OF 2014 AND LAST ONE HAPPENED IN JAN OF 2015. ONE OF THE TIRES WAS NOTED TO BE DELAMINATING WHILE THE TIRES WERE BEING EXAMINED AND BEFORE IN BLEW. ALL THE TIRES HAD BETWEEN 60-65,000 MILES ON THEM (70,000 MILE TIRE). WE WERE HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE DEADBOLT ON THE MOTORHOME OFF AND ON AND HAD TO USE THE CHASSIS DOORS TO EXIT AND ENTER THE VEHICLE. ON THIS PARTICULAR DAY WE WERE HEADING FOR THE BEACHES IN YORKTOWN. ONCE WE ARRIVED WE TRIED TO EXIT THE COACH AND WERE UNABLE TO UNLOCK THE DEADBOLT AND THE REGULAR LOCK, SO WE HAD TO BRING EVERYTHING OVER THE CHASSIS SEATS TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD E-350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SLIGHTLY VIBRATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO INFORMED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE LOWER BALL JOINT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000.

ON THE 2003 AND UP FORD E-SERIES VANS USED FOR AMBULANCE CONVERSIONS. THE CABLE LEADING FROM THE REAR BATTERY UNDER THE VEHICLE TO THE FORD FACTORY JUMP STUD. THE CABLE IS CORRODING AND BREAKING OFF, CAUSING ARCING. ALSO THE FACTORY JUMP STUD, IS WHERE QVM RECOMMENDS THAT AMBULANCE MANUFACTURERS ATTATCH THE CABLE FEEDING THE AMBULANCE CONVERSION. WHEN THE FORD CABLE BREAKS, IT CAUSES THE AMBULANCE CONVERSION TO LOOSE ALL ELECTRICAL POWER TYPICALLY INCLUDING ALL WARNING DEVICES IE SIRENS, LIGHTS, ETC. DOME ATTENDANT LIGHTING, INVERTERS, TWO-WAY RADIOS, SUCTION, ELECTRICAL OXYGEN SOLENOIDS, ETC. THIS POTENTIALLY NEGATIVELY IMPACT A PATIENT BEING TRANSPORTED WHEN THIS HAPPENS. ALSO THE ARCS FROM THE CORROSION DIRECTLY PRIOR TO THE CABLE SEPARATING, HAS CAUSED THE INSULATOR AROUND THE FORD JUMP STUD TO MELT, AS SEEN BY DEFORMITY, AND ALSO CHARRING, THIS IS A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD. THE COMPANY I WORK FOR HAS RECENTLY HAD TO CHANGE OUT THESE CABLES TO A HOME-BUILT DESIGN ON AROUND 75 OF THESE VEHICLES, INCLUDING 2010 MODELS. I SENT AN EMAIL TO FORD, AND THEY MORE OR LESS DECIDED THAT IT WAS A WHEELED COACH ISSUE, HOWEVER WHEELED COACH CLAIMS IT IS A FORD ISSUE. THIS PROBLEM IS SHOWING UP ON MORE THAN JUST WHEELED COACH BRAND AMBULANCES. A REDESIGN TO THE CONNECTIONS MADE AT THE JUMP STUD COULD SOLVE THIS PROBLEM, EITHER BY MOVING THE QVM RECOMMENDED ATTATCHMENT LOCATION, OR A BETTER DESIGN TO THE CABLES/AND JUMP STUD. *LN

VEHICLE HAS A MISFIRE PROBLEM AND STALLING PROBLEM WHEN DRIVING AND OR AT IDLE. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN ADDRESSED BY THE MANUFACTURE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS BUT HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. THIS DEFECT OCCURS WHENEVER IT WANTS TO AND IT HAS SHUT OFF ON THREE OCCASIONS AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WITH ONE OF THE OCCURRENCES. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD E-350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS ONLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF SPACE BETWEEN THE TOP OF THE REAR SEATS AND THE CEILING OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THAT THE AMOUNT OF SPACE WAS A SAFETY HAZARD IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED OR REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE UNKNOWN. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
