SOON AFTER PURCHASE, HEADLIGHT LENSES STARTED BECOMING OPAQUE/FOGGED IN APPEARANCE. THE HEADLIGHTS OF MY GIRLFRIEND'S '92 SUBARU LEGACY LOOKED THE SAME. NEVER THOUGHT MUCH ABOUT IT BECAUSE I LIVED IN A LARGE URBAN AREA WITH WELL LIT STREETS. WAS RECENTLY TRANSFERRED TO THE LITTLE CITY OF SAVANNAH, GA. NOTICED THAT IT IS HARD TO SEE AT NIGHT. LAST NIGHT SOMEONE INFORMED ME THAT I SHOULD REPLACE MY HEADLIGHTS BECAUSE THEY ARE BARELY VISIBLE. I LOOKED AT THEM AND THEY ARE EXTREMELY DIM. IT WAS REPORTED BY A MECHANIC THAT THE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY HAD COME LOOSE AND THE CRANKSHAFT HAD BEEN DAMAGED BEYOND REPAIR. CAR WILL NEED SMALL BLOCK OVERHAUL OR REPLACEMENT ENGINE TO FUNCTION AGAIN.

TURNED AROUND TO HEAD HOME. CAR RAN FINE GOING HOME. MECHANIC THOROUGHLY CHECKED OUT VEHICLE WITH DIAGNOSTIC AND VISUAL CHECK. COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG ALTHOUGH THE CAR DIED ON HIM ON A SHORT DISTANCE RUN _3-8 MILES. AFTER ALLOWING CAR TO REST, IT STARTED UP FINE.
