Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2014-2020 Rogue and 2017-2022 Rogue Sport vehicles equipped with a jackknife style ignition key. The jackknife key may collapse into a folded position while driving.
Remedy: Dealers will insert a spacer into the key slot of the jackknife key, free of charge. Interim notification letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed March 29, 2023. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 30, 2023. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is R22C5.

BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Nissan Altima, Armada, Frontier, Kicks, Leaf, Maxima, Murano, NV, NV200, Pathfinder, Rogue, Rogue Sport, Sentra, Titan, Titan Diesel, Versa Note and Versa Sedan vehicles, as well as Infiniti Q50, Q60, QX30 and QX80 vehicles. Additionally included are 2019 Nissan GT-R and Taxi and Infiniti QX50, QX60, Q70, Q70L vehicles. The back-up camera and display settings can be adjusted such that the rear view image is no longer visible and the system will retain that setting the next time the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Remedy: Nissan will notify owners in phases, having dealers update the back-up camera settings software, free of charge. The recall began November 11, 2019 and all affected VINs should be activated. around 170,000 miles the vehicle started to feel like it was jerking when you went to pull off. eventually when you put it into reverse and barely press the gas, the engine would rev loud and you can hear the transmission get loud and the car would start to jerk driving backwards. driving down the road after around 30 mins you can feel under the gear shifter and the center console will start to disperse heat to where my leg starts to get real hot. sometimes it jerks and hesitates to take off way more then often. i have got a friend that does mechanical work to look at and drive the vehicle and he says that yes it is a transmission issue.

2018 Nissan Rogue. With just over 96,000 miles. I have been working on cars for 35 years and understand mechanics at a professional level. What component or system failed or malfunctioned?: Oil level sensor. Oil temp sensor. Knock sensor. Complete rod bearing failure. Outrageously high Oil temperature and Oil consumption. Rod Bearing started knocking. There were no warning lights or Low Oil level warnings. I was driving home from work yesterday and out of nowhere the rod bearing started knocking with no previous symptoms. I Immediately pulled over and checked the oil level. It was literally dry as a bone. It was so low I had to add 2.5 quarts to even show on the dipstick and 3.5 quarts to get it to acceptable levels. Not only did this literally ruin my engine, it's going to cost over $6,000 to repair. This is obviously related to the current lawsuit against Nissan for the exact same issue involving 2019-2026 models and should have also included 2018 models. This is an incredibly dangerous safety concern, as an unlubricated engine and/or overheated oil can cause total engine lock up and friction welding of internal engine components (which is what happened to me) can lead to serious accidents, stalls, and is a massive fire and explosion danger. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? AEB system engaged momentarily with no external stimulus to cause it to do so. This has happened twice in about the last three weeks or so. The momentary (probably less than a second) response of the system was noticeable but did not cause an accident or other issue. The system dash light also illuminated and then turned off.

The passenger side of my 2018 Rogue door lock actuator failed last year. I am unable to enter through my front passenger door. Earlier this year (2026) the driver side door lock actuator also failed, often leaving me locked out from both sides. I have to leave the door unlocked to ensure I can get into/out of my car.

The door locks on the front 2 doors do not lock when the car key lock button is pressed. You have to manually lock those doors everything you get in and out. You also have to manually unlock them each time to open them

This seat is part of Recall Campaign 24C-002 (Unintended Harness Release). I performed the manufacturer's approved remedy (installation of the fabric debris shield/cover) a few months ago. THE REMEDY HAS FAILED. despite the installation of the shield and ensuring the mechanism is clean, the harness retractor still slips without the button being pressed. The manufacturer's mitigation kit does not resolve the safety defect. The seat remains unsafe for use.

Shortly after purchasing the vehicle, I experienced a sudden and severe brake system failure that created an immediate safety hazard. While driving at low speed, the brake pedal traveled to the floor with little to no braking response. The vehicle could not decelerate normally and required significantly increased stopping distance, placing me and other motorists at risk of a collision. Following the incident, the vehicle was evaluated by an independent service provider. Diagnostic results indicated a brake fluid level fault, and findings were consistent with a failing master cylinder and/or internal hydraulic brake system malfunction. Although the brake fluid reservoir appeared full, braking performance was critically compromised, indicating an internal failure rather than routine wear or maintenance. There were no warning lamps, messages, or alerts prior to the failure. No brake warning light or other indication of reduced braking capability was present. The failure occurred without advance notice, eliminating any opportunity for preventive action by the driver. The vehicle had recently passed a state safety inspection and was represented as roadworthy at the time of sale. A vehicle with an internal hydraulic brake failure or compromised master cylinder should not pass inspection or be certified for use on public roads. Due to the seriousness of the defect and the immediate safety risk, the vehicle was returned to the dealer. Prior to return, no tow assistance was provided despite the known brake defect, requiring limited operation of a vehicle with unsafe braking capability and further increasing public safety risk. The defective condition was confirmed by an independent source and was reproducible in that braking performance was unreliable. Although the vehicle has been returned, this incident raises concern that similar vehicles may experience sudden brake failure without warning, posing a serious crash and injury risk to the public.

The heating system does not heat, only blows cold related to the known issue with the blend door component. I live in the North East and this results in visibility issues as I can not get the heating system to blow hot to keep the windshield and side doors clear. The repair is to replace the entire heating box. My local mechanic has verified this is the issue with the heat and many forums for this vehicle confirm this is a known defect of design.

My side airbags deployed unexpectedly and without impact while riving down the street. I was in my neighborhood, close to my home, and suddenly the passenger side airbags deployed. The car shut down immediately. There is no impact to the side of the car and no dents (pics attached) I have a "malfunction" error on my screen. I don't know why this happened. My safety was at risk because if I was on the highway and this happened, it would've caused an accident. Also, I have just dropped off my child. If this happened 15mins sooner she would've been injured.
My sunroof exploded as I was driving on route 495 near Mansfield Ma Friday October 10th at approximately 3:42 pm. I heard a loud noise sounded like a gunshot and glass flew everywhere. The glass shattered everywhere also in my hair as well as on the seats both front and back seats. My safety as well as other drivers on the road could have been compromised. Luckily, shaken from the shattering of glass I was able to go into the breakdown lane to aces the damage. My insurance company was closed and is also closed today I will report it to them tomorrow.

2018 Nissan Rogue with 110,000 miles transmission has failed and needs to be replaced. Stranded my granddaughter. Vehicle was inspected by a garage and they have confirmed that a new transmission is required. Cannot replace with a used one because there are none available since this has occurred in many vehicles apparently. No warning or signs of this prior to the transmission going out and unable to put into gear. The vehicle is available for inspection.

The only temporary fix for both issues is to turn off the engine and restart. Service Visits: 1. 7/22/2025 – Tacoma Nissan – 77,663 miles - Reported intermittent sluggishness and hesitation when accelerating. - No codes found. - Requested CVT fluid check per TSB. Dealer refused unless I paid for a full fluid change. 2. 7/24/2025 – Korum Nissan – 77,731 miles - Paid for CVT fluid change since Tacoma Nissan refused to inspect without it. - Problem persisted. 3. 7/28/2025 – Korum Nissan – 77,960 miles - Reported hesitation and possible limp mode. - No codes found; no repairs made.I am filing this complaint regarding my 2018 Nissan Rogue S AWD with an ongoing CVT transmission problem. This model is known to be affected by documented transmission issues, and Nissan has issued multiple Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) — specifically NTB15-083b and NTB20-035a — covering situations exactly like mine, where the transmission exhibits hesitation, poor acceleration, or becomes stuck in low gear without storing any diagnostic trouble codes. Relevant TSB Guidance as It Applies to My Case: - NTB15-083b and NTB20-035a instruct that even when no DTCs (diagnostic trouble codes) are present, service departments must follow Nissan’s CVT performance diagnostics. - This includes checking CVT fluid condition, inspecting for internal pressure loss, and assessing for mechanical wear that may require replacement. - These TSBs also address repeated hesitation, sluggish acceleration, or limp mode behavior that temporarily resolves when the ignition is cycled — exactly what my vehicle experiences. Despite three documented service visits in July 2025 confirming my complaints and matching these TSB descriptions, the dealerships did not follow the required TSB procedures or replace the transmission. Issues accelerating from a complete stop. Happens sporadically, unable to replicate for mechanic, and no codes or warning lights. Has become a safety issue when needing to cross left at any intersection. Doesn’t not accelerate fast enough to safely cross even after flooring the pedal for multiple seconds and no warning when this issue will occur so car gets stuck trying to accelerate in the intersection with oncoming traffic, near collisions on passenger side from oncoming traffic on a route taken multiple times a day as there are NO warnings prior to failure. Get stuck accelerating into intersection and can’t stop because cars behind me accelerate at a normal speed. Vehicle has been to repair shop.
Engine seems very weak. Not enough power to safely pass on a highway. Absolutely gutless and sometimes upon acceleration and/or braking it jerks.

Driver door will not open from outside or inside vehicle. Based on research this is an acuator issue that Nissan has known about since 2014 & failed to issue a recall. I am in the process of costly repair @ personal expense for a clear safety issue the know about & have failed to address, & would like reimbursement for. I have had to climb over/out passenger side several times to enter/exit car, thus far not being trapped, however it is not safe to not be able to quickly exit vehicle. Nor safe to manuver over console to exit this way. Nor is it safw not to be able to enter your parked vehicle. Nissan needs to issue a recall & cover repair expense on all makes/models & all doors affected, checking all 4 doirs, not just the one or 2 doors malfunctioning as this can/will affect all 4 doors.

The contact owned a 2018 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 MPH, a second vehicle crashed into the front passenger side of the vehicle. During the crash, no air bags in the vehicle deployed, and the vehicle was destroyed. The driver sustained an injured left hand and lower back and neck injuries. The front seat passenger sustained a chest contusion along with back and neck injuries. Both occupants later received medical treatment. A police report was taken at the scene, and the vehicle was towed away. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not yet contacted regarding the crash. The failure mileage was 61,000.
