Vehicle was purchased in 2023. AC blower failure occurred for the first time in June 2024 and was repaired by PepBoys. On 4/2/2025 the ve3hicle had an active recall event when the engine seized on the highway because of a faulty oil pump/filter, Engine was replaced 4/17/2025 under that recall. Kia a
... dvised at the time that the wiring harness should be replaced due to electrical issues at the time but said that there was no recall for that work. At the time, there were no electrical failures of steering, brakes, all power etc. Nor did we know that those were a possibility. The wiring harness quote was $7,000, over the cost of the vehicle. It was decided to continue repairing the electrical issues as they came up, it was assumed that the fuses would blow before there because a safety or total vehicle failure, as automobiles are designed that way. 8/4/2026 the vehicle experienced a complete and total loss of power resulting in a traffic crash into another vehicle as the brakes felt like you were trying to push a wall rather than a pedal. There was minimal physical damage to the other car and the kia, the other driver got my husband's insurance information and then drove off. The car did startup after ~30 minutes or so and was driven home, but taken to the Kia dealership the next day. It was said that the blower motor overheated and melted a portion of the electrical junction box under the hood and that it was unsafe and dangerous to drive. Kia said that there were no active recalls for this work. NHTSA SC351 seems very similar to this issue that has plagued this car since the beginning. We would ask that Kia incorporate this vehicle and others outside of the year/model ranges in SC351 that have similar failure mechanisms as this seems common.Read more

Blower motor is drawing excessive electricity, which in turn burns the fuse and junction pin, which in turn can start a fire in the car. Kia of Irvine suggested redoing all electrical wiring in the car, but that will not solve the issue. As soon as you turn on the AC, the blower motor will use so m

Wanting to charge almost $7000 to fix this issue, which is double the price value of the car, and risking to end up in this situation again, as soon as you turn on the AC, does not make sense. KIA should do recall on this model and fix the root cause, which is excessive electricity and amperage usage by the blower motor.Read more

Following a GM-initiated over-the-air (OTA) software update on May 18, 2026, my vehicle's windshield wipers became permanently inoperable — stuck in the "on" position with no ability to turn them off. This is not a gradual mechanical failure or wear-and-tear issue. The malfunction began immediatel

This means I am currently operating a vehicle without functional windshield wipers — a federally mandated safety system. I was traveling at highway speeds in active, high-velocity traffic when my vehicle suffered a sudden, catastrophic mechanical failure that nearly resulted in a severe multi-car accident. Without any warning, the vehicle completely lost its ability to accelerate, flatly refusing to pick up speed or m
... aintain momentum despite pressing the gas pedal. This unexpected, immediate drop in propulsion marooned me in high-speed lanes, leaving the vehicle dangerously vulnerable as oncoming traffic rapidly closed the distance behind me. Drivers behind me were forced to aggressively swerve and brake to avoid a high-speed rear-end collision. Moments after this life-threatening loss of power occurred, the Check Engine Light illuminated on the dashboard. Subsequent technical inspection revealed a severe engineering defect: the internal seals of the factory coolant control components failed, forcing pressurized engine coolant backward into the engine’s primary vacuum system. This pressurized fluid completely contaminated the vacuum lines, the vacuum reservoir tank, and the electronic solenoids—including the N75 boost control solenoid. By filling the vacuum infrastructure with liquid coolant, the engine was instantly starved of its ability to regulate turbocharger boost, triggering a critical "limp mode" and a P0299 underboost fault. The catastrophic failure of an internal cooling seal directly compromising an active drivability safety system represents an unreasonable and severe defect. It transforms a routine drive into an immediate, uncontrollable highway hazard. I am filing this report because this known coolant migration pattern presents a clear, present, and life-threatening danger to owners operating this engine platform.Read more

Incident date: May 24, 2026
The vehicle suddenly began vibrating noticeably when idling and at low speeds. About 30 minutes after this started happening a warning lamp lit up. We drove the vehicle about 2 miles to a local auto parts store to get an initial computer diagnosis of the issue. The test resulted in a code of "P03
... 04" which detected a cylinder #4 misfire and recommended a fuel injector replacement. We brought the vehicle to a local mechanic to get the issue further evaluated. After this evaluation, it was determined that the cylinder #4 misfire was related to a lifter failure. The mechanic explained that this situation could possibly have caused more damage, specifically to the camshaft, but that job was bigger than he was willing to take on. He recommended we get the vehicle towed to the dealership for further evaluation. He also informed us that this situation was common with the engine in this vehicle and GMC is aware of it. He directed us to some articles online that elaborated on the potential known issues related to the automatic fuel management (AFM) system and the related engine damage. The vehicle was towed to a local GMC dealership for evaluation. They found the failed cylinder #4 with associated lifter failure and damaged camshaft. We went forward with the repair at the dealership. We asked the dealership about the known engine issues with this vehicle. They acknowledged the widespread issues but informed us that our particular VIN has not been included in any recalls or safety notifications, so we were responsible for the repairs. The vehicle spent nearly 3 weeks at the dealership. One of the parts was on backorder due to a national shortage, which delayed the repair by about one week. That seems to imply that the parts involved in this repair are in high demand, which raises the question of this being a manufacturing/parts issue that may need to be investigated further.Read more

The vehicle experienced repeated failures involving the Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System, and Check Engine system. Warning indicators for the ESC, traction control, and check engine illuminated while operating the vehicle. The issue has occurred on two separate occasions.
... The first incident occurred on May 4, 2026. The vehicle was taken to the dealership for inspection and repair, and the dealership advised that the issue had been corrected. However, the same problem reoccurred on May 7, 2026. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership service department, and the malfunction was confirmed. The affected components and vehicle are available for inspection upon request. The failure created a significant safety concern because the ESC and traction control systems are critical safety features designed to assist with vehicle stability, traction, and driver control, particularly during emergency maneuvers or adverse road conditions. The warning indicators raised concerns that the vehicle could unexpectedly lose stability assistance, traction management, or engine performance while driving. This placed the driver and others at risk because the vehicle’s ability to respond safely during normal or emergency driving conditions could have been compromised. The repeated recurrence of the issue, even after dealership repair attempts, raises concern regarding the reliability and effectiveness of the corrective action performed.Read more

Incident date: Sep 4, 2023
On April 13, 2026, I experienced two safety-related malfunctions while driving my 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 LTZ on a two-lane highway in light rain. At approximately 6:24:05 PM, the windshield wipers stopped in the upright position for about 2–3 seconds while the vehicle was in motion, causin
... g a temporary loss of forward visibility. At approximately 6:26:56 PM, while traveling around 65 MPH, the forward collision/adaptive cruise system falsely detected a vehicle in my lane when none was present and applied sudden, hard braking without driver input. This caused a noticeable forward pitch of the vehicle. At approximately 6:27:13 PM, the system again indicated a vehicle ahead when there was none. Road conditions were wet, and this unexpected braking created a risk of loss of control or a rear-end collision. The systems involved include the windshield wipers and forward collision/adaptive cruise control. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. There were no warning lamps prior to these incidents. The only indication was a false vehicle detection displayed on the instrument cluster and heads-up display. These issues have not yet been reproduced by the dealer, as they were just reported to both the dealership and GM. The vehicle has only been inspected by the dealership to date. The truck also has ongoing issues, including frequent audio cutting out (6+ service visits, unresolved) and intermittent failure of the camera system to activate, which has been previously documented and not corrected. Dashcam footage is available for both incidents and can be provided for review. These issues appear intermittent and without warning, making them difficult to anticipate or mitigate during normal driving. The unexpected nature of both the wiper malfunction and unintended braking increases the overall safety risk, especially in adverse weather and highway conditions.Read more

The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact became aware that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V212000 (Back Over Prevention) through Turo Car Rental Marketplace; however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that while reversing, the r
... earview camera image was blank. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the failure was related to the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 21,000.Read more

The contact owns a 2022 Safe Haven 12-foot Flatbed Trailer. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 MPH and towing the unloaded trailer with a 2024 GMC Sierra 2500, while slowing down to make a right turn, the trailer detached from the tow hitch ball. The contact stated that there wer
... e no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the aluminum arms on the hitch adjoined to the frame of the trailer was loose. The contact stated that because of the design of the hitch, the receiver that rests on the trailer hitch was not flush, and there was room for the trailer receiver to move up and down, causing the bolts to loosen. The contact called the manufacturer and was informed that it was the normal of the bolts. The trailer was taken to an authorized dealer, and the contact was informed that the trailer was attached incorrectly. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 1,200. The VIN was not available.Read more

We are getting an airbag warning intermittently. It happens most often when our daughter (about 80-90lbs) is in the passenger seat. I see that the 2020-2022 Accords have an active safety recall for the sensor in the passenger seat but our dealer (performance kings Honda - Cincinnati) is saying there
... isn't one for our VIN. I have screenshots of the app and the dash. Thank you!Read more
