My 2015 white Kia Optima is having terrible paint peeling problems. It is peeling and chipping on the hood, along the sides of the windshield, above the wind shield, on my back bumper, above my back tires, and just about every place in between. PLEASE HELP!
Incident date: Jun 15, 2026
While driving my 2015 Kia Optima, the engine failed completely without warning. The vehicle lost power while in motion approximately 300 miles away from my home. All warning lights illuminated and the car shut down during driving conditions, creating a serious safety hazard. The vehicle was towed t
... o a Kia dealership where it was inspected. I was informed the engine has failed and may be related to the known 2.4L engine defect and prior recall campaign involving this engine type. This vehicle has a history of multiple recalls, including engine-related recalls issued in 2018 for the same engine family. The failure occurred suddenly and without prior adequate warning, and the vehicle is now inoperable. I purchased the vehicle in May 2023, and at the time of failure it had approximately 133,000 miles. The engine began knocking loudly prior to failure, then stalled and shut off completely while driving. This incident placed me and others at risk because the vehicle lost propulsion while in traffic. I believe this may be related to a known manufacturing defect in Kia 2.4L engines that has been the subject of recall and/or investigation. I am requesting that this complaint be documented as a safety-related engine failure potentially associated with the existing recall and that it be reviewed for further investigation and manufacturer accountabilityRead more

1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The primary failure involved the engine. The vehicle experienced a major engine failure that resulted in an engine replacement under a manufacturer recall. After the replacement engine was installed
... , the vehicle later developed additional engine-related problems. An independent mechanic advised that the vehicle would require another engine replacement or extensive engine repairs. Additional defects included a malfunctioning moonroof that would no longer close properly and other mechanical issues affecting the vehicle's operation. The vehicle may be available for inspection depending on its current status and location. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The repeated engine problems created concerns about the reliability and safe operation of the vehicle. Sudden engine failure while driving resulted in loss of power, inability to maintain speed in traffic, and being stranded in unsafe conditions. The ongoing mechanical failures caused significant concern regarding the vehicle's dependability and safety. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. The original engine issue was confirmed by authorized service personnel and resulted in an engine replacement under a manufacturer recall. The subsequent engine-related problem was evaluated by an independent mechanic, who advised that the vehicle required another engine replacement or significant repairs. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? The vehicle was inspected in connection with the original engine recall and replacement. The vehicle has experienced recurring suspension, drivability, and pulling issues associated with the 4-corner air ride leveling suspension system since early ownership. The first major incident occurred at approximately 4,600 miles when the vehicle displayed suspension warnings and would not accele
... rate properly past highway speeds. Since that time, the vehicle has repeatedly experienced pulling during acceleration, unstable ride behavior, suspension/leveling concerns, alignment-related issues, and drivability instability. The problem has been reproduced multiple times and documented through approximately 16 repair visits and roughly 74 cumulative days out of service. Dealership service records include repeated suspension inspections, drivability evaluations, wheel alignments, and related repair attempts. The issue remains unresolved and the vehicle is currently back in service again for the same concern. The recurring pulling and instability create safety concerns because the vehicle does not consistently track properly during acceleration and normal driving conditions. Suspension warning messages and drivability symptoms first appeared early in ownership while the vehicle was still under factory warranty. I have also found many similar owner complaints online involving the same suspension system in comparable GM full-size SUV models.Read more

The hybrid system in my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe repeatedly fails, causing the vehicle to lose propulsion, drop out of electric mode, hesitate, and shut off while driving. These failures have occurred in traffic and at highway speeds. The vehicle has experienced multiple safety‑related power‑loss
... events, including on JR Allen Parkway and I‑185, where the hybrid system failed to transition between electric and gas modes and the vehicle began losing power. Beginning in April 2025, the vehicle generated repeated Jeep Connect alerts stating “Electric charging failed for your vehicle.” These alerts occurred dozens of times over many months, indicating an early hybrid‑system malfunction. The issue is not related to home charging equipment, as the alerts come from the vehicle’s telematics system and the hybrid system later failed while driving. On February 5, 2026, the dealership’s Service Director informed us that the defect was identified, no fix exists, and the vehicle is unsafe to drive. FCA has not provided a remedy. The vehicle cannot be safely operated in electric mode due to hybrid‑system failure, and it cannot be safely operated in gas mode due to engine‑related safety concerns. The vehicle is unsafe in all modes of operation. This defect creates a serious risk of collision due to sudden loss of propulsion, inability to accelerate, and unexpected shutdowns while driving.Read more

Early December I was driving and attempting to make a left-hand turn across traffic. I press the gas slowly in preparation to cross traffic. Once a car passed I pressed the gas to get across the traffic lanes before other cars got to me and when I pressed the gas, the car completely stopped moving.
... I sat there, pushing harder & pumping for what felt like forever, but was probably three to five seconds. I had to take my foot off the gas, press the brake, and put it back on the gas to get the car to move. By that point, I had cars stopping & honking at me because I was sitting in the middle of oncoming traffic, unable to move my vehicle. Then (12/15) I was sitting at a stop sign, waiting to turn right. I made my right turn advancing onto the new street and my car stopped moving entirely and started flashing two errors, both hybrid system malfunction and engine malfunction. I tried to get the car moving for a bit, switching gears, pressing brake then gas, etc. After putting the car in park & turning on flashers (I was blocking a lane of traffic) and powering the car off and then back on again the car moved, however, the errors are still there.I called the dealership & brought the car in. After a diagnostic they cleared the code & told me to go. I told them it was not safe to put my children in the vehicle and they needed to identify the root cause and fix the problem.Read more

I purchased this 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid on 11/06/2024 from Tower Honda in Longview, Texas. I purchased the vehicle with the Hankook Kinergy GT tires already on there, and these tires are still on here till this day. On January 19th, 2026, I went in for an oil change, and my service advisor mentione

I only have 32,176 miles on my vehicle, and after researching, the tread life on these tires is 70,000 - 75,000 miles. Their are customers that have, and or having the same problem that I am having. During my research Hankook Tires are known to have premature tread wear, tread separation/sidewall issues, poor longevity, and sometimes difficulty warrant claims. I can't believe dealerships would even allow these type of tires on vehicles knowing that the tread life and value is horrible, but I guess at the end of the day, everyone is trying to make a sale, and safety doesn't matter. All sensors failed. Once vehicle was parked completely and seatbelt was removed, the car automatically took off. It began accelerating on its own, full throttle (Rivian logs were retrieved to show this), then began crashing into multiple cars while still gaining speed. Logs also show that the breaks
... were applied during this time, but the accelerator was still engaged at full throttle. The car then launched itself into a light post. The car was able to clear the 2-3ft concrete base of the post and the metal beam crashed into the glass roof of the car (which was shattered and thankfully the surfboard racks prevented it from fully crashing into the vehicle - but the racks are completely crushed), the metal post then launched itself into two more vehicles as well as the car itself. Airbag was not deployed at any point, car was going over 30 mph when it finally stopped (the concrete base likely pierced the battery to make the car stop). Logs didn't even note that there was a crash and the vehicle is totaled. We have salvage holding off on destruction so that the EDR can be salvaged and retrieved.Read more

Component/System: Original equipment tires – Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season, size 255/40 R21, installed on a 2026 Volvo XC60. The affected tire is the front passenger-side tire and is currently available for inspection upon request. Description of Failure and Safety Risk: At approximately 2,500
... miles, the front passenger-side tire developed a visible bulge on the sidewall. This bulge indicates a structural failure of the tire (broken internal cords/belts) and creates a risk of sudden blowout while driving at normal highway speeds with my family in the vehicle, including my young child in a car seat. Because a sidewall bulge can lead to catastrophic tire failure without warning, I consider this an immediate safety hazard and stopped using the tire as soon as the defect was noticed. Pattern / Recurrence: This is my second Volvo XC60 lease equipped with Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season tires in size 255/40 R21. On my prior XC60 lease, two of these same model tires experienced severe, premature tread wear and had to be replaced at low mileage due to safety concerns. In researching this issue, I found numerous other Volvo XC60 owners reporting similar problems with Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season tires, including tread chunking, premature wear, and sidewall bulges at relatively low mileage. Volvo service advisors have stated to me that this is a “known problem” with certain Pirelli tires on Volvo vehicles. Reproduction / Confirmation by Dealer or Service Center: The problem has been observed and confirmed visually by my Volvo dealer’s service department, which documented the sidewall bulge and recommended immediate replacement of the tire for safety reasons. They advised that Pirelli treats this under a prorated warranty, which would require me to pay a portion of the replacement cost, but they did not dispute that the tire is unsafe to drive on. No independent tire specialist inspection has been performed yet.Read more

The component that failed is the charging system alternator on my 2020 Range Rover Sport HST (mild-hybrid). This vehicle has experienced three alternator failures prior to 100,000 miles. The failed alternator and related components are currently in dealer possession and are available for inspection
... upon request. Failure of the alternator creates a safety risk because loss of charging capability can lead to battery depletion, electrical system shutdown, warning system failure, reduced vehicle functionality, or potential loss of power while driving. Electrical warnings and system faults increase driver distraction and may impair safe operation of the vehicle. The problem has been confirmed and reproduced by an authorized Land Rover dealership, which diagnosed the most recent alternator failure promptly. All maintenance and repairs have been performed exclusively at authorized Land Rover dealerships, with no evidence of owner neglect or misuse. The vehicle is subject to a Battery Energy Control Module (BECM) recall and related charging system software actions, which affect voltage regulation and the charging architecture that supports alternator operation. The vehicle and charging system have been inspected by the manufacturer’s authorized dealer on multiple occasions. Prior to failure, the vehicle displayed charging system warnings, battery-related messages, and electrical fault notifications. These symptoms appeared before each alternator failure and prompted service visits. Over the past two years, the vehicle has been out of service for approximately 178 days due to repeated electrical and charging-related issues. Given the repeated alternator failures, recall-related charging system involvement, and safety implications of charging loss, this appears to be a systemic electrical defect rather than an isolated incident.Read more
