AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:PASSENGER SIDE:INFLATOR MODULE
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2007-2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 3500 and GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 vehicles equipped with non-desiccated, passenger frontal air bag inflators containing phase stabilized ammonium nitrate (PSAN) propellant that were used as interim remedy parts for previous Takata recalls. These inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag inflators, free of charge. The recall began February 11, 2020. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-866-522-9559. GM's number for this recall is N192290990.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2007-2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD trucks manufactured November 28, 2006, to August 29, 2008, and 2007-2008 GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD trucks manufactured November 27, 2006, to August 29, 2008. The affected vehicles are equipped with a passenger side frontal air bag that may be susceptible to moisture intrusion which, over time, could cause the inflator to rupture upon its deployment.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began on July 27, 2015. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's numbers for this recall are 15438 and 15817.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2007-2011 Chevrolet Silverado HD 2500/3500 trucks manufactured January 18, 2007, to June 22, 2011, and GMC Sierra HD 2500/3500 trucks manufactured January 22, 2007, to June 21, 2011, and equipped with an auxiliary battery. Owners may unknowingly draw too much current through the vehicle's trailer harness resulting in the melting of fusible link for the auxiliary battery.
Remedy: GM will notify owners and dealers will replace the jumper harness with one that includes a 40 amp inline fuse, and provide the owner with supplemental Owner Manual information, free of charge. The recall began on August 29, 2014. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 14260.

I CALLED THE GMC DEALER HERE IN JANUARY 2016 AND WAS TOLD NO PARTS AVAILABLE. I CALLED THE DEALER AGAIN TODAY (NOV 2016) AND WAS TOLD THE SAME THING. NO PART AVAILABLE. AND WAS TOLD TO CALL BACK BETWEEN 2-3 MONTHS. COMPLAINT: TOO LONG FOR A RECALL. SAFETY ISSUE.

TAKATA RECALL. THIS RECALL IS TAKING AN EXCESSIVELY LONG TIME. I HAVE CONTACTED GMC PRODUCT SUPPORT AT 8004628782 TO SUBMIT A TIER 1 ESCALATION ON JULY 27TH. AS OF AUGUST 25TH, THEY STILL FAIL TO EXPEDITE THE PARTS TO COMPLETE A SAFETY RECALL. SINCE MY WIFE IS PREGNANT SHE CANNOT SIT IN THE FRONT SEAT. ONCE OUR SECOND CHILD ARRIVES IN MID SEPTEMBER WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RIDE IN THIS VEHICLE TOGETHER. I AM UNCLEAR HOW TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE.

THE FAILURE RECURRED SIX TIMES. ON A SEPARATE OCCASION THE VEHICLE STALLED AND FAILED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE FUEL FILTER WHICH HAD BE REPLACED SEVEN DIFFERENT TIMES BEFORE. THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 GMC SIERRA K3500 (NA). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT AND REAR TIRE PRESSURES WERE DIFFERENT AND WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN FOUR WHEEL DRIVE IT WAS DIFFICULT FOR THE VEHICLE TO MAINTAIN FULL TRACTION; THE FAILURE ALMOST CAUSED THE CONTACT TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER MADE TEN ATTEMPTS TO DIAGNOSE A FAILURE. THE DEALER ROTATED THE DRIVE SHAFT AND REBUILT THE REAR END; HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THOSE WERE THE CHARTERISTICS OF THE VEHICLE AND OFFERED NO ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 25,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 2,680.

MY 2008 GMC SIERRA 3500HD HAS A CHATTER WHEN TURNING, GM IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND HAS A BULLETIN FOR A REPAIR, HOWEVER THE REPAIR MAY OR MAY NOT COMPLETELY SOLVE THE ISSUE IT DIDN'T ON MINE. WHILE TURNING THE REAR AXLES STAYS IN A LOCK POSITION AND DOESN'T ALLOW THE REAR TIRES TO TURN SEPARATE SPEEDS THIS CAN CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO GO INTO A SKID WITHOUT NOTICE AND THEY SET FRONT AND REAR TIRE PRESSURES DIFFERENT AND THE DOOR STICKERS CONFIRM THAT THIS IS LIKE DRIVING A 4 WHEEL DRIVE WITH SMALL TIRES ON THE FRONT AND BIG TIRES ON THE BACK. NOT ONLY DOES THIS CAUSE DRIVELINE FAILURES BUT ALSO COULD BECOME UNSAFE AND CAUSE A LOSS OF CONTROL. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 GMC SIERRA 3500. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING IN REVERSE APPROXIMATELY 2 MPH, THE BACKUP INDICATORS WOULD NOT OPERATE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED SPORADIC. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON FIVE DIFFERENT TIMES FOR THE IDENTICAL FAILURE. THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NOT A REMEDY AND ADVISED THAT THE RECEIVER HITCH BE REMOVED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE MALFUNCTION. IN ADDITION, PREVIOUSLY THERE WERE OTHER ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH FOUR OF THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS AND INSTRUMENT PANEL; AND THE ELECTRICAL MAIN BRAIN WAS REPLACED PERTAINING TO THOSE FAILURES. THE WATER IN FUEL SENSOR ON MY 2008 GMC 3500 HD WITH A 6.6L DURAMAX DIESEL. I HAD TO TAKE IT IN TO THE DEALER THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAD WATER IN MY FUEL. THE HAD TO FLUSH MY FUEL SYSTEM AND REPLACE THE WATER IN FUEL SENSOR THEY CHARGED ME $840 FOR THIS REPAIR. BUT THE WEIRD THING IS THE LIGHT NEVER CAME ON.AND UPON MY RESEARCH I CAME ACROSS THIS FORUM THAT CLAIMS THIS SENSOR NEVER WORKS.
