Chrysler (FCA US LLC) expanded the affected population to include 73,712 2005-2009 RAM 2500 trucks produced at the St. Louis North Assembly Plant. Remedy: Owners are advised not to drive their vehicle until the recall repair is complete. Chrysler will notify the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and RAM owners. Mitsubishi owners will be notified by their company. Dealers will replace the passenger frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began on March 27, 2017. The affected vehicles are equipped with a dual-stage driver frontal air bag that may be susceptible to moisture intrusion which, over time, could cause the inflator to rupture.
Remedy: Owners are advised not to drive their vehicle until the recall repair is complete. Chrysler will notify the affected Chrysler and Dodge owners and Mitsubishi will notify the affected Raider owners. Dealers will replace the driver's frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began for Chrylser on June 8, 2015. The recall for Mitsubishi started on June 24, 2015. Chrysler and Dodge owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the clutch ignition interlock switch, free of charge. The recall began on March 27, 2015. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is P80.

ON CERTAIN PASSENGER AND SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES AND PICKUP TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS, THE SOFTWARE PROGRAMMED INTO THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE CAN CAUSE A MOMENTARY LOCK UP OF THE DRIVE WHEELS IF THE VEHICLE IS TRAVELING OVER 40 MPH AND THE OPERATOR SHIFTS FROM DRIVE TO NEUTRAL AND BACK TO DRIVE.

While driving eastbound at approximately 70 mph, I heard a loud bang, a whooshing sound, and felt a sudden change in the handling of the vehicle. I pulled to the shoulder, and found that the entire inside and outside sidewalls of the right rear tire had shredded.
The windshield popped off in one corner, it was due to the lack of a weather seal the truck was not equipped with. The lack of seal created a Reservoir of water that cannot be seen and made rust along the edges. This rust ate away the glue and lead to leaks and finally I had to replace the entire windshield because it was no longer safe to drive with when it rained. The water leaked in and obstructed my view while driving.

VEHICLE: 2007 DODGE DAKOTA ST CLUB CAB, 2WD, 3.7L V6, 42 RLE AUTOMATIC TRANS PROBLEM: AT ROAD SPEEDS OF 34-50 MPH THE VEHICLE SHUDDERS, VIBRATES, AND SOUNDS AS THOUGH ON A RUMBLE STRIP. MY RESEARCH INDICATES THAT THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE HAS AN ERROR THAT INCORRECTLY TELLS THE TORQUE CONVERTER TO START THE LOCK UP RANGE AT TOO LOW AN RPM, RESULTING IN THE ENGINE AND TORQUE CONVERTER TO NOT BE SYNCHED CORRECTLY. THIS PROBLEM BEGAN SHORTLY AFTER I'D BOUGHT THE TRUCK AT 71,100 MILES. I'M AT 71,500 MILES NOW. THE REMEDY IS AS LITTLE AS REPROGRAMMING THE PCM FLASH TO AS MUCH AS REPLACING THE PCM, THE TORQUE CONVERTER, AND TRANSMISSION. I FEAR THAT THE PROBLEM COULD RESULT IN CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE DRIVE TRAIN COMPONENTS IN A WAY THAT COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH. THERE ARE TWO TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS OF WHICH I'M AWARE ON THE MATTER.

TAKATA RECALL I TOOK THIS TRUCK IN FOR THE RECALL, LEFT THE DEALER AND THE STEERING LOCKED UP AS I TURNED ONTO A ROAD, I HAD TO JERK IT VERY HARD TO RELEASE THE WHEEL AND WHEN IT DID RELEASE IT MADE A SNAPPING SOUND FROM THE STEERING COLUMN IN THE AREA WHERE THE AIRBAG SITS. WENT BACK AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED AND FIVE MINUTES LATER I WAS TOLD MY STEERING SHAFT COUPLERS ARE BAD. I NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE BEFORE, BUT THEY SAY I'M WRONG AS OF NOW WE ARE AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE.

I HAVE CONTACTED MY DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND HAVE STILL YET TO RECEIVE THIS RECALL REPAIR ON MY VEHICLE. THE DEALER SAYS THAT PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE. DO YOU KNOW WHEN I CAN EXPECT TO HAVE THE RECALLED PART AVAILABLE FOR INSTALL?
PU BEGAN VIBRATING, ( LIKE GOING OVER ROUGH ROAD), IT WOULD STOP. BUT THEN GO A MILE OR SO FARTHER AND IT WOULD BEGIN AGAIN. THIS WAS DRIVEN ON HWY. MECHANIC REPLACED LOWER BALL JOINTS AND SWAY BAR LINKS. THIS DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. HE TRIED EVERYTHING HE COULD TO REMEDY IT BUT COULD NOT. MILAGE IS 72,000.
