This vehicle has suffered from persistent, substantial, and uncorrected defects, including but not limited to failures in the 48V mild-hybrid electrical system, lithium-ion battery system, DC/DC converter and coolant system. These defects have substantially impaired the vehicle’s use, value and sa
... fety as well as my safety, and remain unresolved despite multiple repair attempts at two separate authorized Mercedes-Benz dealerships in St. Louis, MO. SUMMARY OF DEFECTS •Multiple 48 V battery failures and replacements •Multiple replacements of DC/DC converters and failures •Multiple Coolant System failures •Sudden vehicle shutdowns while driving •Numerous non-start issues •Numerous red warning alerts related to the 48 V system •Multiple towing incidents (One involving the police) Despite extensive repair attempts, including replacement of major components, this vehicle continues to fail and is currently still at Mercedes-Benz of St. Louis unrepaired. These repeated repair failures demonstrate the vehicle cannot be repaired to conform with warranty standards. SAFETY INCIDENT My most recent safety incident: On March 10, 2026, this vehicle shut down in the middle of a busy multi-lane roadway, requiring police assistance and emergency towing due to the safety hazard presented. The vehicle has remained in possession of Mercedes-Benz St. Louis since that date (over 45 days) and remains inoperable and unrepaired. This vehicle had also been towed to Plaza Motors two additional times for the same reasons and was there for many days adding to this amount (See attachments). MULTIPLE DEALERSHIPS/FAILED REPAIRS The vehicle has been serviced by both: *Plaza Motor Compay, St. Louis *Mercedes-Benz of St. Louis Despite independent repair attempts by both authorized dealerships, the same defects persist. This confirms that the issue is inherent to the vehicle itself, not a service related issue.Read more

On the morning of July 26, 2025, while returning home from a grocery shopping trip, my vehicle experienced a sudden and severe loss of power while traveling on an interstate highway with a posted speed limit of 65 mph. Without warning, the car ceased to accelerate and began to decelerate rapidly. I
... immediately activated my hazard lights and attempted to locate a safe area to stop. Vehicles traveling behind and alongside me were forced to brake abruptly to avoid a collision. Fortunately, no accident occurred, though the situation clearly presented a significant risk of one. After pulling onto the shoulder, I turned the vehicle off and restarted it. It initially appeared to operate normally, allowing me to resume driving. However, within a few minutes, the loss-of-power incident occurred again. I managed to pull over a second time, restart the vehicle, and continue the approximately 10-minute drive home without further incident. Upon taking the car to my mechanic, I was informed that coolant was present in one of the cylinders, indicating a failed head gasket. The mechanic advised that I bring the vehicle to an authorized Honda dealership for repair. The Honda service department performed diagnostics and confirmed the head gasket failure. The repair cost was $3,758, which I paid in full. Subsequent research revealed that this appears to be a widespread issue affecting certain Honda models manufactured between 2018 and 2022. I discovered numerous consumer complaints online and learned that a class action lawsuit has been filed regarding this exact defect. Based on my understanding, head gasket failures are uncommon—particularly in vehicles with relatively low mileage. My vehicle has approximately 83,000 miles on it. While I am dissatisfied with the substantial financial burden of this repair, my greater concern lies with the serious safety risk posed by the sudden loss of power at highway speeds. I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed.Read more

The power steering rack failed making it difficult to steer the vehicle. The problem steadily grew worse over several months and was verified by a dealer service center. Clearly, faulty steering is a safety risk and one that Honda is aware of, having previously recalled 1.7 million vehicles similar
... to mine. The dealer merely changed out the power steering rack rather than actually investigating to determine the specific problem (i.e. opening the power steering gear box). The following is a synopsis of my complaint: 1) Honda produced a defective part which clearly impacted the safety and performance of my vehicle after only 53,000 miles. 2) Honda refused to acknowledge the defect in this particular vehicle despite recalling 1.7 million others. 3) Honda advised that if the defect is acknowledged in the future, only vehicles repaired by a Honda dealership may be eligible for compensation. 4) Honda technicians, upon performing the necessary repair did NOT investigate whether the problem was caused specifically by the same gearbox issue that warranted recalling the other vehicles. The faulty power steering rack was not inspected by anyone. It is currently in my possession. There were no warning lamps or messages. There was difficulty steering the vehicle. There was a "sticking" sensation in the steering wheel which grew worse and eventually kept the vehicle from being able to be steered smoothly at speed.Read more

I said the door is stuck half way open and its not safe. They said to either drive it in or tow it in. I asked if there was a recall or an extended warranty. They said there was not and that I would have to pay for all repairs out of pocket. The motor actuates but since the cables don't move it faults out. I have pushed and pulled as hard as I can and the cables will not move. This puts all passengers in danger as the door is part of the structural integrity especially in a side impact collision.Read more

1. Under certain circumstances, the vehicle is able to decelerate using its regenerative braking system without illuminating the brake lights. This occurs during "one pedal driving" where the operator is driving only using the throttle to both accelerate and decelerate the car, without the input of
... mechanical brakes. This is a programming issue, not a mechanical issue. The brake lights are "triggered" when the car decelerates at a threshold of -0.1G or greater. At anything less than -0.1G, the lights will not turn on. This drastically increases the risk of a rear-end collision. 2. Under the right conditions the operator could decelerate from a speed of 45 mph to 5 mph without the brake lights ever coming on, not until they reach a near-complete-stop. This poses a high risk to all drivers that are behind the vehicle, and fails to give warning to other drivers. It should never be possible for this to occur. 3. This problem has been in discussion on Tesla owner's forums; specifically "Tesla Motors Club". (see attached posts) Tesla has the highest accident rate, and no one has yet figured out why. A typical internal combustion vehicle equipped with an automatic transmission coast-down decelerates at an average rate of -0.02G. The Tesla's regen brake light turn-on threshold of -0.1G is 5X more than the deceleration of a typical coasting ICE car (-0.02G) . For slow-downs between -0.02G and -0.1G, where the Tesla's deceleration exceeds an ICE car by up to 5X, there is no warning to other drivers, as the brake lights will not turn on. Any braking force above -0.02G of deceleration exceeds that of an ICE car, and should be made-known via the brake-lights. I hope that this is not overlooked; it is extremely important for this to be addressed to reduce rear-end collisions involving EV's. 99%+ of vehicles in the USA are ICE, and do not coast-down at a rate of -0.1G. The brake lights must indicate this above-normal reduction in speed.Read more

I own a 2012 Chrysler 200, That I Purchased Used but in excellent condition from a reputable dealer, and had a private pre-purchase inspection by a Mechanic (showing no major issues, and I have that report). I drove my car for just around 10-14 months, performed regular maintenance, and had no issue
... s mechanically or otherwise. On the date this Incident occurred I had travelled in the car throughout that day doing some shopping (and the vehicle ran perfectly). We got home around 8:45pm, I dropped my nana off, and got in the car to go get some dinner. While still on my road (which is dark, curvy, has drop offs and no shoulders) as I rounded a curve my car with NO WARNING, completely died. I lost engine power, power steering, lights, headlights, and my brakes became incredibly weak. I could not be seen be seen by other motorists could not use my hazards, and just by dumb luck I made it over the hill with my momentum and had to struggle( NO Pwr. Steeing) to steer across the other lane on a blind curve with no lights, I was nearly hit by another driver, and got into a vacant lot and required my brake + Emrg. Brake to get the car stopped before it hit the structure on the lot. (I know for a fact I had no warning either mechanically or warning light - because I was looking at my dash panel checking speed at the time of failure) I had to have it towed home. A mechanic diagnosed it as a TIPM failure. After researching I found that this was a widely known/occurring failure on several Chrysler branded vehicles, It is a serious safety hazard for obvious reasons - I nearly got hit myself. Chrysler even recalled the faulty TIPM's on some of their BRAND NEW models but refuses to help owners who's cars are 4-5+ years old. And I can't even spend the Ludacris amount of money for a new one because without a recall and resolution of the defect, I'm just buying another Defective TIPM for $1000+ dollars.
