I was driving back from [XXX] on XXX, when I received a "propulsion power limited" message on my dash with a check engine light. I pulled off to a nearby gas station and tried to scan the code to figure out what was going on when I then received the message "Engine unavailable" and the car shut off.
... I checked the fuse box and found that the F03 Fuse had blown. I replaced the fuse and attempted to start the car again. It began normally, but then after driving 10 feet, I received the "engine unavailable" message again with a check engine light and the car no longer had power and I had to coast into a parking spot. I checked the fuse again and found it was blown. If I had not stopped in the gas station, I would have been stranded on the side of the highway, or worse yet, I would have stalled out on the highway and potentially got hit. I had my car towed to a dealership who eventually completed their inspection of the car on XXX and determined that the EGR Valve had failed (the servo motor burned out and blew the F03 Fuse). This is a well known issue on the 2nd Generation of Volts and it is likely faulty servo motors in the EGR valves. The Dealership even included in its financial assistance request to Chevy on my behalf that the EGR valve failure is a known issue. When asked if there was any preventative maintenance suggested to prevent the EGR valve from failing, the service technician indicated that there wasn't anything that I did as the end user to cause the problem. The vehicle frequently fails to register that the transmission has been shifted into Park. When this happens the instrument cluster displays "Action Required / Shift to Park" and the power (STOP/START) button will not shut the vehicle off. The condition is intermittent. I can usually clear it only b
... y shifting through the gear positions and back into Park repeatedly, sometimes many times, before the vehicle will power down. SAFETY RISK: Because the transmission control module does not confirm Park, I have no assurance the parking pawl is engaged when I leave the vehicle, creating a rollaway hazard. The vehicle also cannot be shut down, which leaves its systems energized and drains the 12-volt battery, risking being stranded. I now apply the parking brake at every stop as a precaution. WARNING MESSAGE: The "Action Required / Shift to Park" message first appeared within days of purchase. I bought the vehicle used on 07/29/2026 at 69,471 miles and reported the fault to the selling dealer on 08/10/2026, twelve days later. CONFIRMED BY DEALER: Yes. On 08/19/2026 the selling dealer's service center diagnosed the cause as "internal shifter microswitch failure" and recorded the correction as "Replaced Transmission shifter controller assembly and cleared codes" (repair order 1133072). The fault returned within approximately half a day. On 08/26/2026 the dealer opened a second order for the same concern, recording the same cause and the same correction and listing the same part, shifter assembly part number 13540961 (invoice 1133224). The vehicle is currently at that service center and the defect is not corrected. The condition is worsening — it occurs more often and takes more attempts to clear than when first reported. The vehicle is available for inspection. It has not been inspected by the manufacturer, by police, or by an insurance representative.Read more

I was driving on an interstate in Seattle, and the car completely died. A check engine light went on. I had to roll into the shoulder and call for a tow to the dealership's service department. Here is what they found: ----60GCZ ENGINE REPAIR DIAG/ customer reports the ses lamp is on with reduced pr
... opulsion message displayed. Check and advise. 1. Tested vehicle and verified reduced propulsion power message and SES light. Scanned vehicle for codes and found multiple P0489, P0030, P0031, P0132, P0135, P0137, P0443, P0458, P0597, P0598, P06DA, P06DB, and P103C. Traced back to no power on circuit 5293. Traced back to blown 15-amp fuse 3 of under hood fuse block. Found bulletin #24-NA-080 stating this can be caused by a short in the EGR valve. Tested circuit 5293 and found short at the EGR valve. Advise EGR valve and cooler replacement then retest.---- We disconnected the EGR valve, which means we are driving only on gas, not electric. We cannot charge it anymore. The cost to replace the valve and cooler is over $4k because Chevrolet does not make the vehicle anymore or the EGR valve part apparently. This is a SIGNIFICANT safety hazard if the car is going to simply die suddenly. It is a miracle I did not get hit.Read more

I am submitting a safety complaint regarding my 2023 Honda Ridgeline with approximately 23,995 miles. My primary concern is an intermittent transmission/powertrain malfunction. While driving on the highway, the vehicle unexpectedly entered limp/fail-safe mode and experienced a significant loss of p
... ower and acceleration. This created a potentially dangerous situation because I was unable to accelerate normally while traveling with highway traffic. I am concerned that this could happen again without warning while merging, changing lanes, crossing an intersection, or attempting to avoid another vehicle. The electronic transmission selector has also intermittently stuck or failed to operate smoothly. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether other 2023 Honda Ridgeline owners have reported similar transmission warnings, limp-mode events, loss of propulsion, reduced acceleration, transmission-selector malfunctions, or related powertrain problems. The vehicle also has premature deterioration of both headlamp lenses, including fading, hazing, and cloudiness. I am concerned this may reduce nighttime light output and roadway visibility. Additionally, the engine produces an abnormal rattling noise during cold starts. Rust/corrosion is developing beneath the door weather seals, and the exterior window/pillar trim is prematurely fading and deteriorating. My most serious concern is the unexpected transmission malfunction and loss of power at highway speed. At only approximately 23,995 miles, I believe this condition warrants investigation because an unexpected reduction in propulsion can increase the risk of a collision.Read more

I am submitting this complaint to report what I believe is a serious safety-related defect involving the General Motors 6.2L L87 V8 engine installed in my 2026 GMC Sierra Denali. On July 10, 2026, while driving on a public highway near Bogata, Texas, the engine suddenly began making severe mechanica

The sudden loss of engine power left my wife and me stranded on the roadside. Had this occurred while crossing an intersection, merging into traffic, passing another vehicle, towing a trailer, or traveling in heavier traffic, the consequences could have been far more serious.Read more

The failure was when I hit the brakes hard in an emergency braking situation and the car very eratically and violently veered to the left. There was no warning and thank God there was no car coming in the left lane otherwise it would have been a broad side hit. I was doing 55 mph. We had the car

The brake lines above the sub frame were also severely rusted and leaking. Mercedes Road Side Assistance was called to tow the car 70 miles to the closest shop.Read more

On June 24, 2026, Safety Recall 20UF (Suction Jet Pump) was completed by an authorized Volkswagen dealer. Upon leaving the dealership, the vehicle immediately experienced a severe engine stall and extended no-start condition. During the recall service, liquid fuel flooded the EVAP lines and charcoal
... canister, saturating the intake with raw fuel. This caused an immediate safety hazard, stalling the vehicle in active traffic in 110+ degree summer heat. The vehicle was brought back to the dealer, who confirmed the stall but incorrectly blamed a fuel injector, refusing to acknowledge the EVAP flooding caused by the recall work. Due to the no-start condition, the vehicle was flatbed towed. Raw fuel from this EVAP lines washed past the piston rings, requiring an emergency engine oil change to prevent catastrophic engine failure from severe oil dilution. VW Customer CARE (Case #07594393) refused reimbursement for the towing ($167.00) and oil flush ($101.74) resulting directly from the botched recall. VW failed to provide a safe, effective, cost-free recall remedy. Repair documents attached.Read more

Here’s the revised version with that important detail added naturally: For the past two years, my vehicle has experienced the same recurring steering problem during long highway trips. The issue consistently begins after approximately 1–2.5 hours of highway driving and always occurs during very
... hot or humid weather. The steering wheel starts to stick when making small corrections while driving straight, feeling as though it moves in notches instead of smoothly. Once the problem starts, it continues for the remainder of the trip, even after leaving the highway and driving at lower speeds. This has happened on multiple long trips over the last two years, typically toward the end of extended drives in hot or humid conditions. During some incidents, the steering wheel also produced a clicking noise each time it moved into a notched position. The sticking and clicking make it difficult to make small steering adjustments and create a jerky, clunky steering feel, especially on narrow or curvy roads, making the vehicle feel unsafe to drive. To rule out other causes, we replaced all four tires, but the problem continued exactly as before. There have never been any warning lights or dashboard messages associated with this issue. After researching the problem, we found information about EPS gearbox recalls affecting newer CR-V models. We discussed our symptoms with our mechanic, who agreed that the problem sounds consistent with an Electric Power Steering (EPS) issue and recommended reporting it to NHTSA. Because the problem only develops after extended highway driving in hot or humid conditions, it is difficult to reproduce during a typical short test drive. This wording makes it clear that the weather connection isn’t just a possibility—it has been a consistent pattern every time the issue occurs.Read more

While driving vehicle on a highway exit ramp, the engine suddenly failed. There were no warning lights, messages, noises, or other signs before it happened. The vehicle lost power and became undrivable, which was scary and dangerous because I was still on the road near highway traffic. The vehicle
... had to be towed to the dealership. The dealership inspected it and said the engine had failed. I was given a repair estimate of about $9,100. I was also told the repair would not be covered under warranty and would not be covered under a recall. I believe this is a serious safety issue because the engine failed without warning while I was driving. If this had happened at a different time or location, it could have caused an accident or put other drivers at risk. The vehicle is currently undrivable, and the failed engine/component is available for inspection upon requestRead more

ON JUNE 2ND 2026, the air conditioning in my 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe failed without warning. The system began blowing warm air instead of cold air, making the vehicle uncomfortable to drive. At the same time, I noticed that both front ventilated (cooled) seats had also stopped working. Although the se

I called to schedule an appt and took the vehicle to the dealership for diagnosis and repair on june 4, 2026. The dealership determined that the A/C condenser had failed and replaced it. I was advised that the repair had been completed, and I picked up the vehicle believing the issue had been resolved. Shortly after the repair, it became apparent that the problems had not been fully corrected. While the air conditioning initially appeared to function, the ventilated seats continued to provide no cooling despite appearing to operate normally. This marked the beginning of an ongoing series of HVAC-related failures that ultimately required multiple return visits to the dealership.Read more

Subject: Request for Buyback or Trade Assistance – 2020 Ford Escape SE To Whom It May Concern, I am writing regarding my 2020 Ford Escape equipped with the 1.5L engine, which is currently subject to multiple open safety recalls. Of particular concern is the active fuel injector recall involving
... a risk of engine compartment fire. I understand that the current remedy does not fully address the underlying defect and that additional actions may still be pending. In addition, my vehicle is affected by other safety-related recalls, compounding concerns about reliability and safe operation. Given the nature of these issues—specifically the fire risk and the lack of a complete and permanent repair— as well as a history of over 15 recalls on this vehicle, I am increasingly concerned about the safety, usability, and value of my vehicle. This situation has significantly impacted my confidence in operating the vehicle. Based on these circumstances, I am formally requesting that Ford Motor Company review my case for: • A manufacturer buyback, or • Substantial trade assistance toward a new Ford vehicle, or • Appropriate goodwill compensation reflecting the ongoing safety concerns and diminished value I would appreciate prompt review by a case manager and a written response outlining Ford’s proposed resolution. Please contact me at your earliest convenience to discuss next steps. Thank you.Read more

While driving at highway speed, the vehicle experienced a sustained loss of motive power. Despite the accelerator pedal being fully depressed, the vehicle would not accelerate beyond approximately 62 mph. Based on the symptoms and prior service history, the malfunction appears related to the fuel/pr
... opulsion system, engine, or powertrain. The vehicle is currently parked and available for inspection upon request. This failure placed the safety of the occupants and other motorists at risk. The vehicle was unable to safely accelerate, merge, pass, or respond to traffic conditions. Hazard lights were activated, and the vehicle was forced to remain in the slow lane of the highway for an extended period to avoid being struck by faster-moving traffic. The problem was reproducible and occurred repeatedly during the same trip. Acceleration was tested multiple times, and each attempt resulted in the same loss of power with no response to throttle input. The condition persisted for the entire drive. The vehicle has not yet been inspected following this incident. However, the vehicle previously received a manufacturer warranty repair involving replacement of the high-pressure fuel pump, and the manufacturer has issued a warranty extension for this component. The loss of motive power occurred after that repair. No warning lamps, alerts, or messages were observed prior to or during the failure. There were no warning symptoms immediately preceding the loss of motive power. This loss of propulsion at highway speed created a serious and immediate safety hazard due to the inability to maintain normal traffic speed or maneuver safely.Read more

I was driving on the highway, roughly going 70-75 miles an hour, and as i began to exit the highway the check engine lights on the dashboard came on and the vehicle seized up. Upon inspection at the Toyota Dealership, they said that the transmission has been broken, as well as shrapnel metal being i

As i was stuck on the exit of the highway, NTTA was forced to block the exit as well as tow my car to the nearest parking lot, causing traffic jams on the highway. Upon research I found that issues with the transmission is not uncommon in this vehicle.Read more

1) Vehicle had a recall for something concerning the transmission. Service was done and just after the warranty expired on that issue the transmission went out while driving and I had to put a new one in the vehicle, Toyota did help with $1500 of the cost but it cost me out of pocket over $4000. 2
... ) For the last 2 years the car has been burning oil excessively, I have to put a quart of oil in almost every week. Now the vehicle out of the blue will start shaking and all the warning lights come on and I have to be able to pull over. I no longer can drive on the highway in fear this could happen. I am now being told I need a new or rebuild engine. I seen online that others have had this problem and there was a Class Action Law suit several years ago. What are the chances a Toyota Rav4 would need a transmission and now a engine.Read more

Subject: 2019 Hyundai Elantra – High Beam Headlight Failure and Warranty Denial To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to document and request review of an ongoing issue with my 2019 Hyundai Elantra regarding an inoperable high-beam headlight system and the handling of my warranty claim. Shortl
... y after a warranty period service, my vehicle’s high beams stopped working correctly. I reported the issue to my Hyundai dealership as soon as it occurred, while the vehicle was still within warranty coverage. The vehicle was inspected by Hyundai, but the warranty claim was denied without a satisfactory explanation. Following Hyundai’s denial, I filed a complaint through the BBB Auto Line, providing the same information and documentation, but the claim was again denied. After researching further, I discovered that Hyundai has issued a service campaign (T5G – Headlamp High Beam Repair) for certain 2019–2020 Elantra models addressing the exact same defect—an inoperable high-beam function due to failure in the headlamp assembly mechanism. Multiple owners have reported identical failures online, and the campaign documents confirm this is a known defect. Because my vehicle clearly exhibits this same defect, I believe my Elantra should be covered under the same campaign or under warranty/goodwill coverage. The failure occurred under normal use, and I reported it promptly. I am requesting: A review of my VIN and confirmation of whether it falls under Service Campaign T5G (Headlamp High Beam Repair). If excluded, a written explanation for the denial and a reconsideration under warranty or goodwill repair. Clarification of why this known defect is not being covered when it matches the campaign description exactly. I am providing this information in good faith and hope Hyundai will stand by its quality and customer service commitments.Read more

... light lit there is no check engine light lit I am completely at a loss to figuring out the repair I do not want to spend thousands and thousands of dollars to have it repaired with a mechanic shop I have noticed that with the 2014 Toyota Camry 95% of the vehicles all have the same issue transmission shutter and the electrical issue with the radio this is a very extremely common issue and I wish they would have it recalled and repaired because Toyota Camry 2014 is a very good reliable vehicle only it has issues and it has issues with a lot of the exact same vehicle I have read forum after forum in regards to the radio I cannot repair it I had tried to replace the entire unit and the unit that I had replaced it with is doing the exact same thing I am terrified to open the transmission because nine times out of 10 I will not figure out the issue I could pay thousands and thousands of dollars to have the transmission replaced or repaired but I don't feel like it should be the owners issue or responsibility to repair the vehicle when 90% of the vehicles out here have the exact same issues due to manufacturer issue really hoping they recall this it will give Toyota a better look I have also noticed that no matter how many times I reset the tire pressure sensor monitor and ensure that all tires have the correct amount of air that the tire light will not go off and will not go away these issues have been around for a very long time since I've had the vehicle and no matter the amount of time and amount of money I spend putting into the vehicle for parts the issues will not go awayRead more

While driving my 2024 Chevy Equinox EV in stop-and-go traffic, I experienced a sudden and violent application of the emergency braking system without warning or apparent cause. I was accelerating from a complete stop to approximately 5 MPH. The vehicle ahead of me was maintaining a distance of rough
... ly 6 to 9 feet. Unlike previous instances where the vehicle has falsely detected an object and triggered a red warning light (without engaging the brakes), this time there was no alert or warning. The system immediately and forcefully applied the brakes, locking them completely. This abrupt action caused a near-whiplash effect and nearly resulted in a rear-end collision. I believe this may be a malfunction or overly sensitive calibration of the automatic emergency braking system. The lack of any visual or audible warning prior to brake engagement is especially concerning. I am reporting this incident to raise awareness of a potential safety issue that could endanger drivers and passengers. Additional Notes: • Road conditions were normal. • No obstacles or vehicles were detected in the immediate path. • The incident occurred during daylight hours in clear weather.Read more

... cle is currently at the dealership and available for inspection upon request. The issue has created a serious safety risk. The vehicle has repeatedly lost power and shut off while driving on the highway, including one incident where I was unable to fully pull off the road before it stalled in active traffic. My children were in the vehicle at the time, placing us in immediate danger of being struck by oncoming vehicles. Because the vehicle can stop without warning, it is unsafe to drive and puts both my family and others on the road at risk. The dealership has confirmed the issue and advised that parts are on backorder for at least 10 weeks. They also stated that even once the parts arrive, they are uncertain how to complete the repair, indicating that Chrysler has not yet provided an effective fix. The vehicle has been inspected by the authorized Chrysler dealership multiple times, and the issue has been reported to Chrysler. It has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. A warning message reading “Pull over as the vehicle will stop” appears on the dashboard prior to each failure event. The first occurrence was on June 10, 2025, while driving on the highway to my daughter’s graduation. Since then, the same warning has appeared multiple times before the vehicle shuts off completely. It has been 6 weeks at this point and I have no vehicle. Chrysler has offered rental reimbursement of $60 a day but there is no vehicle that is a 7 passenger like my van that is of this cost. At this time they do not have a timeframe of when the vehicle will be fixed and denied a buyback or replacement.Read more
