So there are TWO main points of concern on this vehicle, number 1 being the steering racks. Many other people have had the same issue as myself. Steering rack completely shut down about a year ago on the freeway, rendering my steering completely useless which was extremely dangerous. 8K repair bill
... that Hyundai will not acknowledge. Now that comes to my 2ND point, the oil pressure sensor switch. It’s more common than the steering racks. Many owners are reporting it as low at 40-50K miles, yet there’s an open recall in Korea for this exact problem. But the USA does not get any acknowledgment for it??? Yet another costly repair due to defective engineering. Might I add as well, the transmissions Prior to 2018 no matter if you’ve had them replaced, they end up failing and people get absolutely 0 help with them. It’s ridiculous and these issue can eventually cost someone their life some day.Read more

My car has about 35,000 miles on it but while I was driving it, I could hear a loud, deep pumping noise coming from the lower front driver's side area. I noticed that when I accelerated from driving at a low speed (25mph) on a small residential road and then accelerated to a higher mph on a faster h
... ighway, the pumping noise would start and would make this constant loud deep pumping noise near the lower front side of my driver's seat. I could still hear the pumping noise even as I pressed the brake pedal to slow down the speed of my car. The deep loud pumping noise would temporarily stop only when I had pressed the brake pedal to a complete stop e.g. red traffic light or yielding to oncoming traffic. However, the deep pumping noise would continue to start all over again once I continued to drive from my momentary stop position on the road/highway. My family member (retired RN) tested my car and said she noticed the same noise too but she also noticed that the car would make that constant pumping noise even AFTER parking the car, turning the car off, and removing the car key! She noticed that would happen after driving the car for more than 10 miles or so. She told me to have the car checked at a certified Honda dealer, because I could be in or cause a big accident if the car fails on the road. So, I took my car to TripleJ Honda-Guam and the staff said the pumping noise is due to a faulty "brake booster" and would charge me $2,000 to repair/replace it. Because the car mileage is only 35,000, I checked NHTSA website and there are brake booster recalls for other Honda models but not this 2019 Honda CRV, yet. I also checked other websites and found that there are many other 2018-2019 Honda CRV owners with the very same brake booster problem. I honestly believe that there are tens of thousands (or more) unknowing Honda CRV owners who have this very same brake booster problem, paid Honda to replace it, but they haven't reported their brake booster problems to NHTSA.Read more

The present complaint alleges as follows: 1. Honda has a defective design in the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) of all Honda Odysseys, models 2018-2023. 2. Namely, Honda has placed the RADAR behind the large HONDA emblem on the front grille. This causes the radar to give a "RADAR OBSTR
... UCTED" warning, which disables all Advanced Driver Assistance Systems in the car (Automatic Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning). 3. The "RADAR OBSTRUCTED" warning cannot be reset by restarting the vehicle or disconnecting the battery, requiring recalibration of the RADAR at the cost of $800 each time since it takes several hours to do (per Dealership). 4. The official Honda Odyssey Forum online has countless complaints on the same issue without resolution by Honda. 5. Honda has acted in bad-faith towards their customers since this defect impacts the vehicle's advanced safety features for which buyers incur additional expenses, endangering the lives of passengers. 6. Honda has acted in bad-faith towards their customers by designing a system that requires continuous and substantial expenditures without resolution because it is an engineering problem, i.e., the placement of the radar behind the large, thick plastic H emblem obstructs the radar. 7. I hereby ask that the NHTSA investigate this issue and order Honda to offer a solution in the form of a RECALL that permanently addresses the problem.Read more

Every time i was traveling in sport mode, shifting was delayed & was very rough transition to next gear. Car was not accelerating or decelerating properly. Burning smell came from the engine. Car’s electrical momentarily went haywire. Wrench light came on. This happened within 18 hours of purchasi
... ng this NEW car. And several times over the subsequent week. Indicator light went on intermittently & so did same problems described above. My safety was put at risk because my car was not driving properly which caused distraction. I was confused about what to do. It also made it difficult to change lanes or speed up/slow down because it was jerky. The dealership i bought it from said a ford engineer came out to inspect the car & that several parts were ordered to fix it, including a battery for the electric motor & a wiring harness. They said it was a big issue and those parts were hard to come by, but i only learned this after 30+ days of the vehicle being under their control. I only dropped it off for a “test.” They did not make documentation of any of this work and would not release records to me. They also declined to release the car to me when i was tired of the lack of transparency. They said they couldnt give it back j til it was fixed but never provided work order with estimate or details of coverage. I never signed anything giving them permission to replace or repair the parts, especially because they would not disclose the ford engineer’s findings to me until a few weeks later after i threatened to invoke my rights under lemon law. They had already taken the car apart & ordered parts by then-without my informed consent.Read more
