I was completely stopped on an interstate with construction barriers on each side of the lanes, so there was no shoulder to pull off on. I was fearful of getting in an accident or causing one. I was very scared for my safety. There were no warning lamps or messages to assist in the moment. I took my car into the dealership and explained what happened. Dealership checked the cruise control and said "test drove vehicle and cruise control operation is normal." They reset cruise control follow distance from closest to farthest and could not duplicate the concern. I am no longer using the cruise control because I feel it is a safety issue that was not addressed.Read more

The vehicle and component has not been inspected by manufacture, police, insurance representatives or others. The manufacture claims there are no recalls on the fuel system of the vehicle. The vehicle has a rebuilt title from a small accident because no parts were available during covid so the insurance wrote the car off. The car was inspected by the state of North Carolina and deemed safe for the road. There is no indication that the car is going to shut off. It just cuts power and shuts off. Vehicle Issue Description – 2020 Ford Explorer Limited (Transmission Failure) The issue involves the transmission system in a 2020 Ford Explorer Limited. The transmission began exhibiting hard and erratic shifting, particularly between lower gears and when decelerating to a stop. A within days ex
... perienced complete failure, leaving the vehicle unable to properly move or engage gears. There were no warning lights, messages, or dashboard indicators at any point prior to the failure. This lack of warning prevented any opportunity to address the issue before it became severe. This failure created a significant safety risk, as the vehicle became unreliable in traffic conditions. Hard shifting and delayed engagement made it difficult to predict acceleration and deceleration, increasing the risk of being rear-ended or unable to safely merge into traffic. The final failure rendered the vehicle inoperable, which could have been dangerous if it occurred in a high-traffic or unsafe location. The problem appears consistent with known transmission issues reported by other owners of 2020 Ford Explorers, including hard shifting, jerking, hesitation between gears, and sudden loss of drivability. Many drivers report similar symptoms progressing to severe transmission problems or complete failure. At this time: •Confirmation by dealer or service center: 3/18/26 Despite the number of similar complaints and documented issues, there has not been a specific recall issued for the transmission system itself, although other drivetrain-related recalls (such as rear axle or driveline failures) have been issued for this model year. Based on the pattern of symptoms and widespread reports, this appears to be a systemic issue affecting the transmission in this model year, rather than an isolated incident.Read more

I own a 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan SE R-Line purchased new in August 2025. Since shortly after purchase, the vehicle has exhibited a recurring safety defect where the electronic parking brake engages without driver input and the vehicle shifts itself into Park. This happens suddenly and without warning.
... This defect occurs multiple times per week, on average (upwards of 50+ times total since purchase) under varied low-speed conditions, including at stoplights, while slowly moving through traffic, and during parking maneuvers, etc. When it occurs, the vehicle stops abruptly as Park is engaged. This creates a significant risk of being rear-ended or losing control in an intersection or traffic lane. There are no warning lights, chimes, or alerts beforehand. The behavior is intermittent and unpredictable, so there is no way to anticipate or prevent it during normal driving. This has not yet caused a collision, but there have been near-miss situations in traffic due to the sudden stop. I notified the dealership when the vehicle was new, but because the model had only recently been released and the defect could not be reproduced on demand, there was no formal inspection or repair, and no guidance was provided. The issue has continued multiple times per week since then. I have now found other 2025 Tiguan owners reporting the same behavior, which suggests this may be a broader safety defect rather than an isolated case. I am requesting an investigation due to the frequency of occurrence and the clear collision risk associated with unintended braking and shifting into Park.Read more

Unexpected rear wheel lock-up at 29000 miles. While engine braking from highway speed onto an off-ramp at approximately 50 mph, the rear wheels unexpectedly locked up. Due to prior rear brake actuator issues, I suspected the emergency brake had activated without my input. It was only momentary, and
... no fault codes or warnings were displayed. It happened again under the same circumstances two months later, with no fault codes. On May 9, 2025, the check engine light came on, and I scheduled service. The dealer addressed a recall regarding the transmission by installing software. In August 2025, I received a letter from GM regarding recall N242454440 for excessive wear in the transmission control valve, which was causing rear-wheel lockup. On October 31, 2025, while towing a small enclosed trailer at 70 mph on the highway with cruise control engaged, the truck suddenly decelerated, and I was nearly rear-ended by a semi-truck (no brake lights to warn them). The truck would not go over 50 mph unless I was going downhill. The transmission would not shift into higher gears. I returned it to the dealer, who checked the computer and found no record of the incident, so they said there was no problem. They informed me that the new software was designed to limit the truck's speed if a potential lockup was detected. This recall did not fix the transmission problem or the safety issue. It was simply a way to avoid costly repairs. There is a problem with the physical transmission valve that, for me, resulted in an extremely dangerous situation. The NHTSA needs to take this issue seriously and require GM to replace the prematurely worn valves in the affected vehicles.Read more

I am submitting this complaint regarding Audi’s continued failure to complete an active safety recall repair on my vehicle despite extended possession of the car and multiple representations that required parts were available or imminent. My vehicle has been continuously out of service for over f

However, Audi Parts Distribution has delivered only partial components on multiple occasions. Specifically, mounting harnesses have been delivered twice, but the required coolant hoses necessary to complete the battery installation have not been included. As a result, the vehicle remains unrepaired and inoperable. At no point has Audi provided a clear explanation of the full scope of repairs being performed, a definitive list of required components, or a reliable completion timeline based on confirmed parts availability. Communication has consisted primarily of assurances regarding ETAs that have proven inaccurate. I am requesting NHTSA review whether Audi’s recall remedy process is being properly executed and whether similarly situated vehicles are experiencing comparable delays.Read more

On November 29 2025 my 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 with 49000 miles was warming up in the driveway. I heard a pop sound from the back seat like a soda can being opened (or a fuse blowing). Immediately afterwards warning lights appeared on the dash saying "Check Electrical System." The vehicle lost power t
... o accelerate and could not be driven effectively. After a few moments, another error saying "Power is Limited" appeared. This could have happened on the roadway which would have been hazardous to myself and other drivers. The car is scheduled to be diagnosed next week by Simmons Rockwell Hyundai in Elmira, NY. These symptoms are similar to the hundreds of other reports of ICCU failures in this car and similar models. On Sept 10, 2025 the car was previously issued software updates to the ICCU software , which were required under NHTSA Recall Number 24V868000. If this problem is proven to be an ICCU failure, the experience with this car is an example of the 2025 software update failing to prevent the ICCU Failure. I request swift action from the NHTSA to compel Hyundai to implement a permanent fix for my vehicle and all other afflicted models in order to make Americas roadways safe again. Until then, everyone should be extra careful when driving behind a Hyundai Ioniq, 5 because it is at risk of dying and coming to a complete stop at any moment. Hyundai is a large corporation and has the resources and technology to fix this, but they have not done so, despite there being more than 300 complaints to the NHTSA about these cars at the time of this writing.Read more
