The informational digital panel that shows how much gas I have left in the tank comes off and on, doesn't come on at all and randomly shows crazy lights all while driving down the road! This has been happening since around 43,000 miles and I'm almost at 100,000 miles. It started right after the first software update on my suv. I reported the problem to my Honda dealer but was told they had never s
... een it, would just reset the software again. Problem was never fixed after reporting it every time I went for an oil change and even calling and reporting it. With each update, it seemed to get worse as if the attachment that they plugged into my suv was somehow loosening something inside. I know other people have the same problem because I have seen complaints all over the internet!Read more

Vehicle exhibits repeated brake pulsation and vibration under normal braking conditions, affecting braking performance consistency. The issue began at approximately 10,000 miles and has progressively worsened. The vehicle currently has approximately 30,000 miles. The pulsation is felt through the steering wheel and brake pedal during moderate braking from highway speeds and occurs consistently acr
... oss multiple driving conditions. The condition is significantly more pronounced when using the vehicle’s adaptive cruise control system. During normal operation, the adaptive cruise repeatedly applies the brakes automatically, and this consistently produces increased vibration and uneven braking response. This indicates the issue occurs during normal vehicle operation rather than abnormal use. The repeated pulsation creates inconsistent brake feel and may affect stopping performance, particularly during repeated or sustained braking events. This raises concern regarding braking reliability and stopping consistency, especially in traffic conditions where adaptive cruise control is actively managing following distance. The condition has steadily worsened over time and is present during routine driving. It is not limited to high-speed or heavy braking scenarios. A manufacturer Technical Service Bulletin (TSB CHA126V) exists for this vehicle model addressing front brake disc judder. The symptoms described in the bulletin match the condition experienced in this vehicle. Given the early onset, progressive nature of the issue, and the involvement of system-controlled braking (adaptive cruise), this condition appears to be related to component performance or design rather than normal wear. Kia response .. Dear [XXX] , Thank you for contacting Kia Customer Care. We do not see that bulletin related to this VIN, as such, any repairs recommended would be the responsibility of the vehicle’s owner. High voltage battery pack, Power Inverter Module (PIM), and HV charging system. PIM replaced twice (p/n 68381781AD, 8/4/25 and 8/18/25) after being found melted with arcing damage at HV connections. Battery pack has active BPCM fault codes and a recorded cell voltage excursion. Vehicle available for inspection. Vehicle lost all motive power without warning at highway speed on multiple occasions,

A melted inverter and arcing at HV connections were found on a vehicle still being driven daily. BPCM data shows Cell 79 recorded a voltage excursion to 1,526 mV — less than half minimum safe operating voltage — stored in permanent memory. Yes. Lawless Inc. (Woburn, MA), authorized Chrysler dealer, confirmed fault codes PA121-00 and P0A43-00 on 8/4/25 and replaced the PIM. Vehicle returned 8/18/25 with same failure — dealer confirmed arcing damage and melted inverter. Three visits total; defect unresolved after two repair attempts on the same component. All three visits performed by authorized Chrysler dealer under 10-year/100,000-mile HV battery warranty. Stellantis warranty claim opened each visit. No police or insurance involvement. Red warning "Will Lose All Power" appeared on instrument cluster before each shutdown. Battery range has displayed erratically since 2/28/25 (~17,788 miles), when nonlinear discharge was first reported and dismissed. I am writing to report a serious, premature failure of a primary emissions and safety-related component (the catalytic converter) that has occurred as a direct consequence of a known, unaddressed manufacturing defect in Hyundai's Theta II engine. My vehicle has a documented history of excessive engine oil consumption. This inherent manufacturing flaw causes the engine to burn motor oil at an extre
... me rate, forcing unburned oil directly into the exhaust system. Over time, this oil has fouled and destroyed the catalytic converter substrate, triggering trouble code P0420 and causing a complete component failure. A dealership inspection at Heritage Hyundai Towson (RO #XXX) confirmed "excessive wear" and failure of the catalytic converter. Because the catalytic converter is failing prematurely due to a liquid defect (excessive oil burning) rather than standard wear and tear, it poses an environmental hazard, compromises vehicle emissions control, and can lead to sudden engine stalling or reduced power while driving, presenting an active safety risk. Hyundai Motor America (Case #XXX) has formally denied assistance to rectify this consequential damage, despite full awareness of the underlying engine defect. I request that NHTSA investigate how Hyundai’s ongoing oil consumption manufacturing issues are causing cascading safety and emissions component failures in these vehicles. VEHICLE: 2023 Kia Sorento, VIN [XXX] , currently 48,000 miles. Vehicle has never been in a collision. DEFECT: FUEL FILLER DOOR ACTUATOR WITH NO EMERGENCY RELEASE — STRANDING HAZARD The fuel filler door actuator fails to release on demand intermittently. When the actuator fails, the door must be pried open with tools or force, which is inconsistent and not always possible. The dealership service
... advisor has stated that this model is not equipped with any emergency release mechanism for the fuel filler door. With no emergency release, the actuator is the only mechanism by which the fuel door can be opened. SAFETY IMPLICATION: An intermittent actuator failure with no backup release mechanism creates a stranding hazard. If the actuator fails when the vehicle is low on fuel — particularly in remote areas, in cold weather, at night, or in emergency situations requiring refueling to reach safety or medical care — the vehicle cannot be refueled and becomes immobilized. This is a single-point-of-failure design on a system required for vehicle operation. The condition has been reported to the dealership and remains unresolved. The vehicle remains within the 5-year / 60,000-mile basic warranty period. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

EHICLE: 2023 Kia Sorento, VIN [XXX] , currently 48,000 miles. Vehicle has never been in a collision. DEFECT: MASTER POWER WINDOW SWITCH / WIRING HARNESS — OCCUPANT EGRESS HAZARD The driver's master power window switch fails intermittently, causing simultaneous loss of all window operation and electric door lock function. When this occurs, occupants cannot operate any window or unlock any door el
... ectrically until the condition resets, typically by opening and closing the driver's door. The condition was first reported to Arapahoe Kia at 24,859 miles on 11/08/2024 (RO 208018) and again at 25,050 miles on 11/15/2024 (RO 208449). On the 11/15/2024 visit, the dealership confirmed the defect on customer-supplied video and performed a full diagnostic including pin tension testing on connector D01, power, ground, B-CAN continuity testing, and a wiggle test of the harness. The dealership's written conclusion on the repair order: "we've determined that the harness is probably not the issue and it will need a new master switch." The master switch was not ordered or installed, and the vehicle was returned with the defect unresolved. The condition continues to occur intermittently as of the current 48,000-mile reading. SAFETY IMPLICATION: This defect creates an occupant entrapment and egress hazard. In a fire, submersion, or crash event where the mechanical door release is inaccessible, inoperative, or where occupants are incapacitated, simultaneous loss of window operation and electric door lock function eliminates secondary egress options. The defect is intermittent and unpredictable. The vehicle remains within the 5-year / 60,000-mile basic warranty period. On April 8, 2026, while riding on a busy 8 Lane (4 each direction) interstate during evening rush hour, I experienced immediate loss of propulsion when I attempted to engage the throttle. There was absolutely no power, just a grinding noise. I immediately put on my hazard lights and began working my way over toward the right berm. The exit was within a very short distance and I was able to exit th
... e interstate and pulled in to the first road I could. I had to put my Can Am Spyder in neutral so my husband could push me off to the side of the road to safety. There were no warnings or symptoms prior to my immediate loss of propulsion. I was placed in harm's way because most drivers were traveling in excess of the speed limit of 70 mph. I was in fear for my life as there were truck tractors and other vehicles within feet of the rear of my Can Am Spyder as I made my way to safety. The loss of proplusion was caused by the output shaft stripping the front sprocket. The sprocket was physically inspected by a dealership and BRP as well and replaced with another sprocket. I previously had a 2018 Can Am Spyder F3 and the sprocket was replaced 4 times due to the same issue, however my sprockets were always replaced before an epic fail as happened in this case. There was a recall and final fix with a stronger sprocket by BRP. I do not want anyone else to experience this safety issue.Read more
