What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The fuel delivery system has failed. Specifically, the fuel lines are leaking at the connection point on the top of the fuel tank. The vehicle and the affected components are currently available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? This defect poses a
... n immediate fire and life-safety hazard. Because the fuel leaks while the vehicle is powered on, any spark or heat source could ignite the fuel tank, leading to a vehicle fire or explosion. Additionally, the cabin environment has become toxic; the concentration of gasoline vapors is so high that it causes physical illness. One of my children vomited due to the fumes. The vehicle is currently undrivable because the vapors are intoxicating and hazardous to the health of all occupants. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, the leak has been inspected, reproduced, and confirmed by an independent service center. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No, the vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, law enforcement, or insurance representatives. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There were no warning lamps or dashboard messages (such as a Check Engine Light) prior to or during the failure. The symptoms—specifically a strong odor of raw gasoline—first appeared four days ago. The intensity of the odor and the rate of the leak have increased significantly since the initial onset.Read more

She pulled off to the side, and authorities were called for traffic control. The vehicle was unable to move. When engaging into drive, the vehicle sounded like it was coming apart. The contact stated the vehicle was not able to engage its own brake. When the vehicle was towed, there was no evidence that the wheels were locked up. Shortly after that, the vehicle's PTU became fully inoperable, causing the vehicle to not be able to be placed in park or any other driver setting. The vehicle was towed to the dealer a second time. The tow company parked the vehicle at the dealer on a hill. With a failed transmission, this caused the vehicle's E-brake to disengage, causing it to roll off the hill and stopped rolling shortly after once on flat ground. VEHICLE INFORMATION: Year: 2013 Make: Land Rover Model: Range Rover Sport VIN: [XXX] Mileage: 97890 DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM: I am unable to properly refuel my vehicle. ... s the cause. Safety Recall N623 (Gasoline Fuel Tank Flange Assembly Cracking) was previously completed on my vehicle at Jaguar Main Line in Wayne, PA However, the refueling issue has persisted following that recall repair. The EVAP canister saturation is consistent with prolonged fuel vapor exposure caused by the cracked fuel tank flange that Recall N623 was designed to address. I have made multiple attempts to resolve this with both the dealership and Land Rover North America Customer Relations. I was assigned a case manager|Brittany Thomas|case number 8001492338 [XXX] who has not followed up despite my repeated contact attempts. Land Rover has directed me back to the dealership and the dealership has directed me back to Land Rover, with no resolution provided. The vehicle remains unable to be properly refueled and the EVAP canister replacement has not been covered under goodwill or warranty. ACTIONS TAKEN: •Recall N623 completed at Jaguar Land Rover Mainline [XXX] even after this repair fuel pumping got worse •Dealer diagnosed saturated EVAP canister •Multiple calls made to Land Rover Customer Relations [XXX] ) •Case opened with Land Rover case manager Brittany T, Customer Relationship Centre •Matt Morritz -Service Director at the dealership will NOT cover the repair even though my car needed to be towed to the dealership because you cannot pump gas into the tank. On May 27, 2026 at approximately 11:00 PM, my 2020 Jeep Gladiator Overland (VIN: [XXX] ) suffered catastrophic engine failure during normal operation at 78,190 miles. The alternator seized, causing the harmonic balancer (crankshaft damper) to fracture. The broken balancer fell into the engine block, causing extensive internal damage requiring complete engine replacement at significant cost. This
... failure sequence points to a design and/or manufacturing defect in the OEM alternator and/or its mounting system on the 3.6L Pentastar V6. A properly designed alternator should not seize with enough force to fracture the harmonic balancer and deposit debris into the engine block under normal operating conditions. The vehicle was not involved in any accident or operator abuse. It was being driven normally with no prior warning — no dashboard lights, no unusual sounds, no prior related mechanical issues. I request NHTSA investigate whether this failure pattern is systemic across 2020 Jeep Gladiator vehicles and other 3.6L Pentastar V6 platforms, including the Jeep Wrangler, Ram 1500, and Dodge Durango. Sudden complete engine failure at highway speeds is an immediate crash hazard to the driver and surrounding motorists. I respectfully request a formal defect investigation and, if warranted, a safety recall with full remediation and reimbursement of repair costs to affected owners.
