The engine required a short block replacement at approximately 40,000 miles. There was a severe knocking sound and the dealer diagnosed heavy scoring and abnormal wear present on the front bank cylinder walls. The result was excessive internal engine clearance and cylinder wall damage. Engine cylinder piston block holes were worn beyond spec. After 33 days the vehicle was returned and developed a
... growling/grinding noise when the AC was in operation and at lower speeds that followed the RPMs. Vehicle was returned to dealer and told sound was normal operation for this model and stated it was coming from AC Compressor. Independent shop verified 2 days later AC compressor was failing and possible metal contamination. AC compressor is backordered with no ETA. Advised to not use AC or Defroster to avoid seizing and causing serpentine belt to snap. Advised Honda Customer Care and assigned Case Manager who was made aware of knock and compressor failure and contacted dealer who stated vehicle could not be seen for 7 days due to being booked. Advised Case Manager of vehicle safety concern with internal engine failure damage and failing AC system and was denied emergency loaner or assistance and told it was all they could do. Vehicle now unsafe due to both with no timeline for fixing and known hazards due to severe engine failures and associated issues with main systems.Read more

I purchased a used 2021 Hyundai Palisades Limited addition , 24 days ago, On August 7th 2026, the car had 57,033 miles at the time of purchase. It now has 57,844. I started to open the sunroof for the 3rd or 4th time since owning it and I heard a crack sound, and it stopped about 4 or 5 inches opened..I tried to open it more and then saw towards the front by the Deflector end that on each side of
... the track there were little flimsy plastic pieces that looked bent and broken..I now have an open sunroof in the front and the back of it was up. I slowly tapped the switch and managed to get the front closed however the back is still open. As I read more on this I see it is a KNOWN ISSUE with MANY Of these SUNROOFS from 2020-2022 !! TBS 23-BD 003H-1. I just bought this car used just under 30,000 , I have called the dealership , Huntington Beach Hyundai Dealership and my salesman said he would find out if its covered under the limited 60 day warranty. This is just WRONG this should be a RECALL .I'm reading on line hundreds if not thousands have had this happen. I paid just under 30,000 It only has 57,844 miles on it and now I"M to pay from what I read 3,000 - 8,000 to repair or replace this sunroof ??????? This is a SCAM !! I'm requesting that this please be called as a RECALL this is not right ! I will be talking with an attorney who handles lemon laws and inquire what my rights are. I now have to worry about break-Ins and rain , and of course no car washes...I'm so upset I could spit fire ! Please let me know what is going to be done about this. How can Hyundai get away with this ??? Cheaply built Car for sure !Read more

My 2021 Infiniti QX50 has suffered a catastrophic internal engine failure. This vehicle is explicitly covered under active federal safety recall NHTSA Campaign 25V437000 (Infiniti Campaign R25A8/A9 / R25B1/B2) for defective, failing main and link bearings. The Infiniti dealership is actively refusing to honor the mandated federal recall remedy. The service department is attempting to illegally b
... ypass the safety recall mandate by blaming the presence of engine sludge and claiming they do not visually see metal shavings. They are demanding that I pay out-of-pocket for a consumer-pay engine replacement. Under federal law, a manufacturer cannot deny a safety recall remedy based on vehicle maintenance history or engine sludge. Furthermore, the massive friction and overheating caused by the defective, failing recalled factory bearings directly causes and accelerates oil breakdown and sludge. The dealership is using the presence of sludge to mask a federal safety defect.Read more

On August 22, 2026, while driving my 2022 GMC Sierra westbound on State Route 84 at highway speed, with strong westerly winds of approximately 35 knots, the front passenger-side wheel-opening molding/fender flare completely detached from the vehicle without warning. The detached molding struck the passenger-side exterior mirror and narrowly missed a motorcyclist traveling behind me. This created
... a serious safety risk because a substantial exterior component became a projectile at highway speed and could have struck the motorcyclist or another vehicle. There were no warning lights, messages, unusual noises, or other symptoms before the failure, and there was no known collision or impact preceding the incident. I did not initially know what had detached. After arriving home and inspecting the vehicle, I discovered the entire passenger-side front wheel-opening molding was missing. The detached component was not recovered. I reported the incident to my GMC dealer, which performs my regular service and warranty work. The vehicle was inspected on August 31, 2026. The dealer declined warranty coverage but, to my knowledge, did not determine why the component detached. Afterward, I inspected the corresponding driver's-side molding and found a substantial visible gap at its leading edge between the molding and vehicle body. Comparison with other GMC Sierra vehicles of the same model showed their moldings appeared to sit substantially more flush. The vehicle and remaining molding are available for inspection, and I have photographs documenting the condition. The cause of the failure is currently UNKNOWN. I have escalated the incident to GMC Customer Assistance under Case #109189284 and requested a product-safety review. I am concerned there may be an installation, attachment, or component-retention issue that could allow these moldings to detach while driving.Read more

The engine shuts off to accessory mode when the car is parked or idle for more than 1 minute or so, and the “engine auto” is turned off (light illuminated)— this is our observed correlation. To clarify, the engine auto is automatically turned on when the car starts— the engine will automatically turn off for a short period of time and restart on its own. When the “engine auto” button i
... s illuminated, and this issue occurs, the engine does not restart on its own, the cluster lights illuminate, air conditioner stops and the car must be restarted (foot on brake and push engine start button) to resume driving. This can happen several times in one day and often takes place if the vehicle is parked or idle— while in highway traffic, at a traffic light or stop sign included. My safety and the safety of my children and other passengers is at risk each time this takes place. We have impeded the flow of traffic on several occasions. Just today, 8/30/26 the auto start light in the cluster blinked 7 or 8 times when the engine turned back on automatically— this time, the engine auto button was not pressed (light was off).Read more

During a controlled low-speed autocross event (~55 mph entry), I applied the brake pedal firmly to decelerate for an upcoming turn. The vehicle failed to decelerate at anywhere near its rated capability. Despite full, sustained pedal application, the car would not slow adequately, departed the course, and struck a barrier, resulting in a total loss. No injuries occurred. This happened on smooth, d
... ry pavement where 100+ other vehicles braked normally. The failed system appears to be the electronic brake control (ABS/VSA) and/or its input signaling. Event Data Recorder (EDR) data was professionally extracted and shows: accelerator at 0% for ~3.5 seconds before impact (ruling out pedal misapplication); ABS logged ACTIVE while stability control was "not engaged"; and peak deceleration of only ~0.67 g with a momentary 0.00 g dropout, versus this model's documented ~0.9–1.0 g capability. Notably, the service-brake switch intermittently read OFF while ABS was simultaneously active — a signal inconsistency, since ABS modulates driver-applied pressure. This indicates a possible brake-switch/signal-integrity or ABS/VSA control anomaly that reduced or withheld commanded braking. Safety risk: complete loss of expected stopping power at speed. Had this occurred on a public road with a pedestrian, crossing traffic, or a stopped vehicle ahead, it could have caused serious injury or death. The vehicle was under the 3-year/36,000-mile warranty with a stock, unmodified brake system. Prior symptom: on the immediately preceding run, dashcam footage shows an abnormal brake hop/oscillation, which may have been an early sign of the same fault. The vehicle, EDR data, and synchronized dashcam footage are preserved and available for inspection. The manufacturer extracted the EDR but has not yet performed a root-cause teardown. No dealer, police, or insurance inspection has occurred. Root cause: UNKNOWN pending modulator interrogation.Read more

I am writing because I am having an ongoing problem with my car stereo ghosting. I understand it to be the digitizer that Honda is fully aware of. When I called to speak with the service manager at the Honda dealership where I purchased my Honda Accord from in 2022, along with a Honda Care warranty, I received a well rehearsed and scripted response about Honda being aware of the problem. I was tol
... d that the issues they are experiencing with ghosting is a software issue and not a hardware issue, and for that reason Honda is no longer replacing the touchscreen or making any attempt to resolve these issues. According to the service manager at Hendrick Honda of Charleston, Gary Hamilton, their dealership has been instructed to stop switching out the hardware, as switching out the hardware has only made the problem worse than it already is. When I bought the 100K Honda Care extended warranty, with my vehicle in 2022, the key selling point that the sales manager used to sell me the warranty was all the things that could potentially go wrong with the vehicle’s electronics, including the Infotainment system and car computer. This problem that I have been experiencing with my car audio is NOT a new problem and has gotten progressively worse as time goes on. Honda has been having this same problem with all 10th generation Honda Accords (2018-2022). I pay for a monthly/annual subscription to SiriusXM radio, which I can no longer seem to enjoy because the infotainment system repeatedly kicks me out and goes completely haywire on me. My 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT experienced a sudden electronic parking brake failure. The vehicle displayed a parking brake fault warning, and the electronic parking brake became stuck in the engaged position and would not release despite repeated attempts and restarting the vehicle. The failure completely immobilized the vehicle and required Ford Roadside Assistance to tow it to an authorized Fo
... rd dealership. The Ford dealer diagnosed the issue in writing as: “REAR EPB HARNESS CORRODED; STARTING TO CORRODE ON RR AS WELL; RECOMMEND REPLACING BOTH REAR PIGTAILS WITH UPDATED STYLE.” The dealer therefore found corrosion affecting the electronic parking brake wiring on one rear side and corrosion beginning on the other side. Both rear EPB pigtails are being replaced with an updated-style component. This failure appears substantially similar to the electronic parking brake wiring/connector issue Ford previously identified in Customer Satisfaction Program 22P31 for certain earlier Mustang Mach-E vehicles. Ford's documentation for 22P31 states that damage to the EPB wiring can result in a parking brake malfunction and, in some cases, an inability to disengage the parking brake. My 2023 vehicle is apparently not included in that program despite experiencing a very similar failure mode. I am submitting this complaint because corrosion of the electronic parking brake wiring on a relatively new vehicle resulted in the parking brake becoming permanently engaged and the vehicle being completely immobilized. The dealer also found corrosion developing on the opposite-side EPB wiring and recommended replacement of both sides with updated-style pigtails. I believe NHTSA should evaluate whether this EPB wiring/connector corrosion condition extends to 2023 Mustang Mach-E vehicles beyond the population originally identified by Ford.Read more

I own a 2018 Ford F-150 3.5L EcoBoost with approximately 93,000 miles. I am experiencing a repeated cold start cam phaser rattle. This is a known issue addressed by Ford in several TSBs, including 19-2365, yet no recall has been issued. It has been "repaired" once at approximately 40,000 miles only to have the same issue reoccur at which time I was told that rattling at startup is "normal" and "si

No IC gasoline engine should rattle on startup, and I believe this defect poses long-term reliability concerns and will lead to engine damage and failure during operation. Ford should be held responsible for a widespread design flaw affecting thousands of vehicles. I urge the NHTSA to investigate this recurring issue and hold Ford accountable for consumer safety and financial impact.Read more

I experienced a severe, violent, and uncontrollable front-end suspension and steering wheel oscillation—commonly known as the "Ford Super Duty Death Wobble." While traveling at highway speeds approximately 70mph, I came across a bridge expansion joint (nothing unusual) and immediately upon impacting the joint, the front axle began shaking so violently that it caused a sudden, near-total loss of
... steering control. The violent shaking made it nearly impossible to maintain a straight lane of travel, risking a catastrophic multi-vehicle collision. The steering wheel jerked violently side-to-side, forcing me to rapidly and dangerously decelerate in active highway traffic to regain control of the vehicle. This defect created an extreme, unpredictable safety hazard. I immediately let-off the accelerator with some braking to stop the oscillation and regain control. A local specialty alignment shop previously attempted an adjustment, as I had experienced this a couple of months before (although not as severe as this most recent incident) on [XXX] in eastern [XXX]. The adjustment temporarily masked the underlying issue for approximately 2.5 months before the violent oscillation returned as I am reporting now. The local Ford dealership (Victory Ford) has confirmed that the vehicle qualifies for Customer Satisfaction Program 20B02 (Steering Linkage Damper Replacement), demonstrating the manufacturer's awareness of this dangerous defect. However, no formal safety recall has been issued. Aside from Fords damper replacement online research and an independent alignment shop recommends replacement of track bars, bushings, steering damper, etc. with heavy duty parts. Fords damper replacement is reported to only mask the real problem. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

I am reporting ongoing safety concerns with my 2023 Cadillac Escalade involving unexpected acceleration and loss of propulsion while driving. On XXX, while traveling to [XXX] in slow-moving traffic with Super Cruise engaged, my vehicle unexpectedly accelerated forward. I immediately applied the brakes to avoid striking the vehicle ahead. I reported the incident to the Cadillac dealership and conta
... cted OnStar. OnStar records reflected the acceleration/hard-braking event, but the dealership could not identify the cause. On XXX, the vehicle experienced a significant loss of engine/transmission power while I was driving. I contacted OnStar, which reported transmission control module-related diagnostic codes P0747 and P0700 and indicated reduced power/transmission malfunction. I had difficulty reaching a safe location and the vehicle was ultimately towed to a Cadillac dealership. I have also experienced ongoing excessive oil consumption. I first reported this in May 2024 at approximately 21,000 miles. Multiple oil consumption tests were performed, but I repeatedly had to add oil between changes. In June 2026, the vehicle displayed an “Add Oil” warning even though the oil life monitor showed approximately 37% remaining. The vehicle has also had recurring HVAC problems requiring multiple dealership visits, including a coolant flush for an air pocket and later vent actuator recalibration. The vehicle has been inspected and serviced by authorized GM/Cadillac dealerships multiple times, including recall work, oil consumption testing, powertrain diagnosis and HVAC repairs. Despite these repeated visits, concerns continue. My primary safety concerns are the unexpected acceleration and subsequent loss of propulsion/reduced power while driving. I am reporting these incidents because they may indicate a safety-related defect. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

While driving on a bridge at under 20 mph, the vehicle's head gasket failed, causing the engine to overheat and coolant to leak from within the engine. The vehicle threw diagnostic trouble code P2601 and immediately entered "limp mode," severely cutting engine power and vehicle speed. Because this happened on a bridge with no shoulder to safely pull over, the sudden loss of power created a serious
... safety hazard — the vehicle could not maintain a safe speed or keep pace with surrounding traffic, increasing the risk of being struck by other vehicles. The vehicle was taken to a Tampa Honda (11000 N Florida Ave), where the failure was confirmed to be a blown head gasket that allowed coolant to leak into the engine cylinders. The head gasket and related components were replaced at a cost of approximately $5,000 to restore the vehicle to safe operating condition. The failed component is no longer available for inspection in its failed state, as replacement was required to make the vehicle drivable. No dealer, manufacturer representative, police officer, or insurance adjuster has inspected the vehicle; only at Tampa Honda facility that performed the repair diagnosed and confirmed the head gasket failure. Prior to this incident, no warning lamps or symptoms were noted — the P2601 code and limp mode activation occurred simultaneously with the sudden overheating and coolant loss, with no advance warning. This failure is consistent with a widely reported defect pattern among Honda vehicles with similar engines, where the head gasket fails prematurely and allows coolant to enter the cylinders. Honda has not issued a recall or acknowledged a manufacturing defect despite numerous consumer reports describing the same failure mode.Read more

The contact owns a 2026 Kia EV9. The contact stated that while driving 25 MPH and accelerating through a four-way intersection after a complete stop, the vehicle was T-boned on the front passenger’s side by another vehicle that had ran the stop sign. The passenger’s side air bags deployed as expected, and the driver’s side air bag also deployed, causing a fractured right humerus. The contact
... required emergency surgery. The contact was pregnant at the time and remained hospitalized for two days. The doctors established a post-surgical recovery plan. The contact’s minor child, who was seated in a car seat on the rear passenger’s side, was not hurt. A Police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The insurance company had not yet determined if the vehicle was a total loss. The dealer was notified of the failure and directed the contact to an online crash test video suggesting that the front driver’s side air bag should not have deployed in the crash. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,200.Read more
