Vehicles autonomous driving has failed several times. The system changes from autonomous driving to adaptive cruise control without giving the normal alerts for the driver to take the wheel, giving me or my spouse no time to properly react. This system failing resulted in the vehicle going into a ditch. The autonomous driving automatically switched to adaptive cruise control without warning, the
... lane keeping system also failed as it gave no warning and did not push the vehicle back into the lane either. Although the vehicle cameras recorded the incident the vehicle did not register any faults or system failures. The shop was not able to find system recorded failures which causes us concerns since the autonomous driving has automatically switched over to adaptive cruise control with no notice.Read more

Dear Nissan Consumer Affairs, I am writing to formally report a serious safety issue involving my Nissan vehicle and to request full reimbursement for the repair costs I incurred as a result. On [XXX], I discovered that the rear window of my vehicle had unexpectedly shattered without any collision, impact, vandalism, or other outside force. The glass remained in place initially despite being sha
... ttered. However, when I closed the vehicle door under normal conditions, the entire rear window collapsed and fell inward. The force of simply closing the door should not cause a properly functioning rear window to fail. At no time was the vehicle involved in an accident, struck by debris, or subjected to any unusual conditions that would explain the damage. The spontaneous shattering and subsequent collapse of the glass strongly suggest a defect in the window, its installation, or another manufacturing-related issue. This incident created a significant safety hazard and could have resulted in injury to passengers. Vehicle glass is expected to withstand ordinary use, including the routine opening and closing of vehicle doors. Because this failure occurred through no fault of my own, I do not believe I should be responsible for the cost of repairs. Vehicle Information: Year: 2025 Model: Nissan Rogue VIN: [XXX] Mileage: 14,769 I respectfully request that Nissan investigate this matter and provide full reimbursement for all repair and replacement costs that will be associated with this failure. I have photographs of the shattered glass, repair documentation, and receipts available for review. I would appreciate a written response within 14 business days outlining Nissan’s position and the next steps toward resolving this matter. Thank you for your prompt attention to this serious safety concern. Sincerely, [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

I am filing this safety complaint regarding a known defect in my 2019 Toyota Highlander Hybrid related to the high-pressure fuel system. My vehicle triggered a Check Engine Light with Diagnostic Trouble Code P107B - Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor ‘B’ Circuit Range/Performance. This code appeared multiple times (3 stored faults). Toyota has formally acknowledged this defect by issuing Technical Serv
... ice Bulletin T-SB-0050-20 specifically for 2018-2019 Highlander Hybrid vehicles. This is a fuel system pressure issue that directly affects the safe and reliable operation of the vehicle. A failure in the fuel rail pressure system can cause: •Sudden loss of engine power while driving •Unexpected stalling at highway speeds •Inability to accelerate when needed, creating a dangerous situation in traffic Despite Toyota acknowledging this defect through TSB T-SB-0050-20, Jim Coleman Toyota (10400 Auto Park Ave, Bethesda, MD 20817, Phone: 301-618-0480) quoted me nearly $3,000 to repair this issue rather than covering it under warranty. I believe Toyota should issue a formal recall to protect all owners of affected vehicles. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this matter and pressure Toyota to issue a recall covering all 2018-2019 Toyota Highlander Hybrid vehicles affected by this known fuel system defect.Read more

Vehicles auto stop/start turned the engine off while at a stop light. When I accelerated on the gas my car would not go. It said to take it was in neutral so it went into neutral on its own. The entire car appeared to have turned all the way off at this point and I was able to restart and drive.

Fail component: mechanical linkage (transmission rod) between the motor and the wiper arms. The ball pops out of the socket resulting in the wipers not working despite motor running. This happened with full speed wipers running. I repaired it, and two weeks later it disconnected again while running wipers at full speed in heavy rain. This left me without windshield wipers in heavy rain on a roa
... d with a 55mph speed limit. If I had not been able to quickly exit this would have resulted in significant risk to myself and other motorists. I was able to drive home on slower side roads, but the lack of wipers remained a safety issue. I have not taken in into a dealer or shop to have it reproduced. I will take photos while fixing. No incident or police reports were filed. There were no warning lights or alarms before or after this occurred. It seems this is a known issue that is common to Nissan vehicles including the leaf.Read more

The alarm on my car would intermittently and randomly go off at any time while car was parked and locked. After much research I deduced that it is the Smart Power Control Unit located behind the glove box. The epoxy clear covering on the circuit board is not fully covering the entire board allowing for dendritic growth and random surges. These surges can cause the alarm to go on and off, the head
... lights to turn on and off, and instrument panels to go haywire. I haven't experienced this issue while driving but it could certainly happen, which would obviously be very dangerous. I did not take it in to a mechanic or dealer to reproduce the problem, however I have confirmed with others with various honda models having the same issue.Read more

The Ford dealership completed repairs on my vehicle and returned it by parking it in front of my garage. I have a long driveway and additional parking and needed to park the vehicle somewhere else (maybe 20-30 feet away). I reversed the truck ~20 feet and when I tapped the gas lightly to turn the car left to pull into the parking space it accelerated rapidly. I pressed the brakes repeatedly and th
... e car didn't stop and barely slowed down after noticing that continuing to turn the steering wheel to the left did nothing. I tried cutting the wheel and the tires seemed unresponsive and the vehicle didn't stop until it hit a small tree on the right side of the parking area. Upon trying to move the vehicle back to the original parking space the vehicle seemed to only allow steering to the right and hit a tree on the right passenger front door. The airbags, part of the service work previously completed from another recall, didn't deploy despite having an 85lb passenger in the vehicle. The dash flashed with many sensors when I initially tried to stop the vehicle when it was in drive. The vehicle is available for inspection. The safety of myself and my passenger were at risk. I was transported to the ER. The problem was not confirmed by anyone yet. The vehicle was inspected by police visually and damages documented in the police report. I have not spoken to the dealer as I'm now weary of their service center practices since this occurred the first time I drove the vehicle after they made the repairs for the passenger airbag and brake recalls.Read more

I am submitting this complaint regarding a serious safety issue involving my Hyundai Sonata. While driving under normal conditions, my vehicle suddenly entered a low-power ("limp") mode without warning. The vehicle would not accelerate beyond approximately 30–35 mph, creating a potentially hazardous situation in traffic. At the same time, the check engine light began blinking. The sudden loss
... of power significantly reduced my ability to maintain traffic speed and safely maneuver the vehicle. This condition could have increased the risk of a rear-end collision or other accident. I brought the vehicle to an authorized Hyundai dealership (Fred Beans Honda Of Abington PH# 215-392-9020) for diagnosis. The dealership confirmed that the vehicle stored Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P1326, related to the Knock Sensor Detection System (KSDS). According to the dealership, the vehicle entered limp mode as a result of this fault. The abrupt reduction in vehicle power and speed occurred without sufficient warning and created a safety concern. I am reporting this incident so that NHTSA can investigate whether this condition represents a broader safety defect affecting Hyundai Sonata vehicles equipped with the KSDS system. Vehicle Information: Make: Hyundai Model: Sonata Model Year: 2014 I request that NHTSA review this issue and evaluate whether additional action is warranted regarding vehicles experiencing DTC P1326 and associated limp-mode operation.Read more
