My 2015 Land Rover Range Rover underwent recall-related suspension repair work at Land Rover Orlando. Shortly after the repair, I began hearing an extremely loud noise from the front of the vehicle. The noise was severe enough that I informed the dealership I was afraid to drive the vehicle. I sent videos of the noise to the dealership. After reviewing the videos, dealership personnel advised tha
... t the issue was likely related to the air strut assembly or control arm bushings. The vehicle was later inspected by an independent mechanic. During that inspection, it was discovered that the front brake caliper bracket mounting bolts were not properly secured. On the driver's side, mounting bolts were reportedly missing. On the passenger side, mounting bolts were found extremely loose and could be removed by hand. The mechanic documented the condition with photographs and video evidence. The brake caliper bracket is a critical brake system component, and I believe this condition created a significant safety risk. Had the bracket separated or shifted while driving, it could have resulted in loss of braking performance, vehicle damage, loss of vehicle control, a crash, serious injury, or death. The abnormal noise began shortly after the recall repair. I reported the issue to the dealership at that time. The condition was later confirmed by an independent mechanic. The vehicle is currently undergoing repair. I am submitting this complaint because the condition involved a critical brake component and occurred following recall-related service work.Read more

The vehicle's original engine suffered severe oil consumption and a blown head gasket, which contaminated the exhaust system. The Kia dealership replaced the engine under warranty but refused to replace the damaged catalytic converter claiming it wasn’t a part of the warranty even though it was consequently damaged. The dealership explicitly stated the vehicle should not be started or driven due
... to the blocked exhaust, but then did repair and release after I pushed for the catalytic converter replacement. They said I would have to follow up with Kia corporate. They released the unsafe vehicle anyway and I have been following up with Kia customer service for 2 months to request a CAT replacement. While driving, the blocked exhaust caused a severe rattling noise, immediate engine overheating, and complete mechanical engine seizure. The engine completely cut power and locked up while in motion, creating an immediate crash hazard on the roadway. The vehicle is now completely inoperable and will not turn over. This is a severe safety defect where a known blocked exhaust system directly caused catastrophic engine failure while operating.Read more

There are no warnings for this when it happens (coolant leaking into engine),we
... were just fortunate to notice low coolant. Because there are no coolant warnings, it can lead to catastrophic engine damage while operating vehicle. There are no guarantees that this will not happen again, only parts are under two year warranty. After research, Ford knew this was an issue with this engine when we bought it, not only on the Flex but same engine on other models, yet continued to sell them. Cost $3,391.71 to repair. Because it is over 5 year warranty no help offered, yet is under 60K miles. There are other complaints regarding this same issue yet Ford continues to not acknowledge faulty design of engine. 2) still waiting for rrecall/repair of backup camera, 3) also waiting-recall/repair for plastic pillar covers. ... c clip is especially dangerous and scary because it is not immediately apparent there is a problem and I don't know how long the clip was broken for before I noticed it. The small magnet keeps the clip lightly together in what appears to be the fastened position, and how I typically buckle/unbuckle my son I don't handle it in a way that would reveal this issue immediately. I contacted Chicco and they are sending me a replacement clip that is the standard fastening style, not the magnetic clip. I got the impression this is a widespread issue based on online discussions, and also since they asked for no additional information about the broken clip and sent the new one at no cost although I am outside of the warranty period. The magnetic clips should be recalled and replacements sent to everyone unknowingly putting their child in danger every day on the road.Read more

The vehicle is experiencing a persistent and severe manufacturing defect regarding its steering wheel geometry and vehicle alignment. While operating the vehicle under normal driving conditions, the steering wheel alignment is visibly off-center, failing to achieve proper tracking geometry. There is comprehensive photographic and video evidence documenting that the steering wheel and tracking alig
... nment are fundamentally incorrect. To date, this vehicle has been brought to an authorized Volkswagen dealership service department for a total of eleven (11) separate service visits specifically targeting this exact defect. The dealership service department refuses to perform further corrective actions, insisting that the off-center geometry is "normal and within factory specifications" after test-driving two other lot vehicles. The dealership has explicitly stated they will not correct this defect without direct corporate intervention. Safety Risk Assessment: The manufacturer and dealership's failure to remedy the off-center steering wheel geometry and tracking alignment presents an ongoing safety hazard. Operating a vehicle with compromised steering geometry introduces unpredictable handling characteristics, accelerated or uneven tire wear, and an elevated risk of sudden component fatigue. The persistent alignment deviation forces the driver to constantly compensate to maintain a straight line of travel, increasing the risk of driver fatigue and unpredicted lane drifting at highway speeds. A vehicle that cannot maintain proper tracking geometry poses a clear and present danger to its occupants and surrounding traffic. Timeline of Events & Notice to Manufacturer: Both the local franchised dealership management and Volkswagen of America corporate regional management have been formally notified of this recurring defect through 11 documented service attempts. The Auto Start/Stop system shuts down the engine and periodically the engine fails to restart. The dealer has tested the battery, however it passes. They refuse to do anything with the starter or other components of the system whether it be replace or inspect them. As the car ages (now approx. 1.5 years) it seems to occur increasingly often. I am concerned that the Auto Star/Stop system is doing irreparable damage to the engine & transmission. Additionally, sometimes the engine gets cut off and then tries to re-start and after several churns the engine restarts and the car lurches forward as the car is in gear "drive' when the car re-starts. The catalyst for making the car re-start is to release the brake... and that causes an immediate lurch forward when the engine does re-start. Does not seem to be a good thing for the transmission. The Auto/Start/Stop engine feature can not be permanently disabled.Read more
