Traveling at highway speed of 65 mph. Not using the cruise control or self driving feature and had both hands on the wheel. Message appears on the screen “inability to drive detected” with a chime and red warning light. I am driving the car so not sure what this means. Moments later, a new warning message saying “Emergency stop initiated” and the car slams on the brakes and starts to steer
... toward the shoulder. There is traffic around me braking and trying to get out of my way. The car will not respond until I finally press the accelerator to the floor and the message goes away. Car goes back to normal. I spoke to BMW and they really did know why it would do this. I asked if the driver attention system was active even without an assist features on and they weren’t sure. The only thing they could suggest is that since it was sunset, maybe the car couldn’t see me with my sunglasses on. I am concerned because this could have caused an accident and that there is no clear guidance from BMW as to why it happened at all.Read more

The vehicle is experiencing excessive engine oil consumption. The engine burns approximately one quart of oil per week during normal driving conditions. There are no visible oil leaks, and no warning lights, check engine light, or other dashboard messages have appeared. The oil level drops rapidly between oil changes and requires frequent topping off to prevent the engine from running low on oil.
... This condition creates a safety risk because the engine could suffer sudden damage, loss of power, or engine failure while driving if the oil level becomes too low. The problem has been ongoing and is reproducible. The oil consumption appears similar to issues reported in recalls and investigations involving Hyundai engines; however, when the VIN was checked, it was reported as not included in any recall. No external oil leaks have been identified. The component available for inspection is the engine and related lubrication system. Prior to discovering the excessive oil consumption, there were no warning lamps, messages, unusual noises, or other symptoms. The issue was first noticed when the oil level was found to be significantly low despite regular maintenance and no evidence of leaks. The cause is believed to be internal engine oil consumption. UNKNOWN whether the manufacturer has inspected the vehicle. Additional inspection and investigation are requested due to the similarity of this condition to known Hyundai engine oil consumption complaints.Read more

I am filing a complaint regarding the premature head gasket failure on my 2021 Honda Accord, which failed on May 28, 2026, with only 89,000 miles on the vehicle. A head gasket is a critical engine component that should last well beyond 89,000 miles under normal driving conditions and proper maintenance. I purchased this vehicle because of Honda's reputation for reliability and longevity, and I am
... extremely disappointed to experience such a major engine failure at this mileage. After researching the issue, I found numerous reports from other Honda Accord owners experiencing similar head gasket failures, particularly in newer models equipped with the 1.5L turbocharged engine. Many owners report engine misfires, coolant loss, overheating, and costly repairs at relatively low mileage. This suggests there may be a broader issue affecting these vehicles rather than normal wear and tear. My vehicle has been properly maintained, and I did not expect to face a repair of this magnitude before reaching 100,000 miles. The cost of replacing a failed head gasket is substantial and places an unfair financial burden on owners who reasonably expect Honda vehicles to provide dependable service. I respectfully request that Honda review this matter, investigate the growing number of similar complaints, and provide assistance with repair costs. I believe Honda should stand behind its products and support customers who experience premature component failures. Thank you for your attention to this complaint. I look forward to a prompt response and a fair resolution.Read more

Check engine light (MIL) came on while driving and vehicle lost power. Would not accelerate. Had it towed to Mercedes Benz of Mrytle Beach. $8000 repair. Mercedes Corp would not help. This is a copy of a TSB (LI05.20-P-080257) for this issue: Complaint engine vibrations perceived at low rpm. Fault codes for the camshaft position of the intake camshaft (p001100, p001104, p001200) or exhaust
... camshaft (p001400, p001404, p001500) may be stored. Cause continuously fluctuating oil pressure in the central valve may lead to damage to the filter screen on the central valve. This can result in damage to the filter screen or the filter screen breaking loose. The resulting loss of oil pressure prevents proper adjustment of the camshaft adjuster. If the filter screen breaks loose, parts of it may settle in the camshaft adjuster or in the camshaft. If there are parts in the camshaft, they can pass through the oil supply bore to the last camshaft bearing (i.E., the first camshaft bearing behind the adjuster) and cause damage there. Remedy 1. In cases in which only the screen of the central valve is damaged and no metal particles are found in the oil filter, the following parts must be replaced: - always both central valves - the camshaft adjuster of the damaged central valve 2. In cases where the screen is completely missing and metal particles are found in the oil filter, the camshaft bearings must be checked. If any damage is visible there, proceed as follows: - both central valves - the camshaft adjuster of the damaged central valve - the camshaft bearing housing (camshafts are already included here) - oil change with oil filterRead more

June 3, 2026, approximately 5:30 PM EDT, I entered my 2025 Toyota Sienna to move it from the street beside my home, to my driveway. Upon closing the driver's door, the rear liftgate window exploded into the vehicle. This occurred without any warning or adverse action by myself or anyone else. The vehicle has been in no collisions, and has only 6429 miles on the odometer. I phoned Toyota's "Cust
... omer Experience Center" to report the incident and to seek warranty service for this problem. I was told to drive the vehicle to my Toyota Dealer, which is located 115 miles away, for inspection. I explained that it is unsafe to drive a vehicle filled with broken glass and with no rear window 115 miles. If I vacuum up the glass, there is nothing for the dealership technician to inspect. If I tape plastic over the opening, it could come loose at highway speed, and cause an accident, and the tape adhesive could damage the vehicle finish. The Toyota agent advised me that the vehicle must be inspected at a Toyota Dealership, and if the vehicle is unsafe to drive to the dealer, we could have it towed. But in a subsequent call to the "Customer Experience Center", my wife was informed that Toyota would not cover a tow of that distance in their warranty, and it was our fault for buying a car and taking it to an area that far from a dealer. The phone number we called is located inside the vehicle owner's manual cover under a heading, "If there is not a Toyota dealer near you, please call the following number:" In the morning, once they are open, I will call the nearest dealership, 115 miles distant, to seek further guidance. Based on my background in both mechanical engineering and automotive failure analysis, it is my opinion that the window and its support system was not designed to withstand the prolonged sun and heat exposure experienced. The outside temperature reached at least 82 degrees F where the vehicle was parked.Read more

I am reporting a safety defect in Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (Supervised) system. I applied very strong sustained braking (brake master cylinder pressure exceeded 129 BAR with ABS activation). The tow truck driver, [XXX], stated at the scene that this was the fifth Tesla he had recovered from this exact same location due to similar crashes. This documented cluster of at least five identical Tesla crashes at one hazardous spot indicates that Tesla had actual notice of a dangerous defect in its FSD mapping and road geometry recognition but failed to correct it. Took her to the urgent care that sent me to the ER out of concern. They told me she may need head and neck images. The doctors and staff were so confused as to what I was even talking about. Unexpected braking or false intervention can startle the driver, create rear-end collision risk, and reduce confidence in the system. Failure to activate can also increase forward-collision risk. The system was not intentionally disabled by me, and I am not aware of any driver-caused obstruction, modification, or normal explanation. The condition is intermittent and may not appear during a brief service visit or basic fault-code scan. This concern was reported through Audi/dealer service channels, including a documented repair request identifying the AEB system as malfunctioning and failing to activate as designed. A later dealer communication stated that there were no stored AEB faults and later clarified that no work was done on the AEB system, no inspection or verification of AEB operation was performed, and confirmation of operation would require an additional estimate. I am reporting unresolved safety status because intermittent active-safety failures or false interventions may not store permanent DTCs, and lack of stored faults is not complete safety verification. I have not received final written safety closure confirming inspection, calibration review, road-test verification, factory scan/freeze-frame review, module communication review, and technical verification. No crash, fire, injury, or fatality is being reported. The vehicle is available for inspection if requested.Read more

Vehicle had history of hard shifting from 1st drive. On January 24, 2026 we heard a ringing sound as we were driving. Approximately 10 minutes after the noise began, the Check Engine light illuminated. We drove back home and connected our code reader to find P0741, P2714 and P2757. Had the vehicle towed to my Toyota Service Center and upon inspection, was informed that the transmission had failed
... and would require replacement. I was informed that although it was a 2017 with the UA80E manufacturered in April 2017 - it did not qualify for free replacement under Toyota. A rebuilt unit was secured and installed on 2/11/26. Toyota authorized $2000 Goodwill Assistance and their Warranty Labor Rate. I paid the remainder of the bill. The 'new' transmission also shifts hard and just doesn't feel like it it working right.Read more

On XXX, my 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 9 displayed a battery fault warning (DTC P1AAF00). I was instructed by Hyundai to bring the vehicle to a dealership immediately as other Ioniq 9 owners had experienced sudden and complete loss of motive power during highway operation. The vehicle has been at Pacifico Hyundai in [XXX] since that date. I was initially told the battery control module required replacement
... with only 7 units available nationwide. On May 5 I was informed via text that the entire high voltage battery pack requires replacement with no release date provided. The vehicle has been out of service for 48 days with no repair timeline. This fault presents a serious safety risk as sudden loss of power at highway speeds creates an immediate collision hazard for the driver and surrounding vehicles.
