our vehicle is doing the same identical thing as other 2024 Trax that are under a recall. The dealer is wanting to charge a diagnostic fee to even look at it. The METAL trunk torsion bar broke with no warning or symptoms while I was sitting in my vehicle with the trunk closed. While it sounds minimal, it caused such a deafening sound I initially thought there had been an explosion in the rear of my vehicle. This occurred a few minutes after I removed an item from the trunk and closed the trunk. I was sitting in the driver's seat with the car running
... about to back up when the explosive sound occurred. If the trunk had still been open, the risk of significant injury and death would have been quite high given the explosive sound made when it broke and slammed the interior of the trunk. If it had hit my head, chest or an artery with that level of force, it likely would have caused death in my opinion. There were ZERO warnings. My trunk worked fine, no symptoms of any kind that it was about to fail and that is what makes this so dangerous. This is a part that never should have failed. It should last the lifetime of the car. The largest part of the broken torsion bar IS available for inspection. The smaller piece that broke off and became a potentially lethal projectile must be somewhere behind the paneling, but I have not been able to find it. I can make my car available if an inspector would like to search for the missing piece. I have received a quote from the dealer for replacement, so it has been inspected. Components that failed in the trunk: 64531-06500 Hinge Torsion Bar Right Hand 64127-06110 Torsion Bar Bracket/Hardware Kit. Rear Spoiler/Hardware Kit Note- There is also a 64532-06500 Hinge Torsion Bar Left Hand that could possibly fail in the same way.Read more

My Honda has experienced repeated failures of the front headlamps due to moisture accumulating inside the assembly. In addition the failures of the headlamps caused a fuse to blow rendering the turn signals inoperable. This is dangerous because it limits visibility at night, inability to signal other cars of turning. this first happened in 2024 and happened again in 2026. These conditions were con
... firmed by an independent repair shop. Honda service refused to make any consideration for the problem. The replacement of each headlamp is very expensive, over $1000.00. There were no warnings prior to the failure. the vehicle did display a message that there was a problem with the head lights once they failed.Read more

I am reporting a safety concern involving a Tesla operating with Full Self-Driving Supervised active. On June 5, 2026, at approximately 7:50–7:55 AM Pacific Time, the vehicle was being driven with FSD Supervised engaged. The vehicle was in a turning maneuver when the driver mistakenly applied the accelerator. Vehicle data provided by Tesla appears to show ACTIVE_FSD shortly before the incident,
... a turning/steering angle, accelerator-pedal input/override, FSD becoming unavailable, and then crash-related/braking/tire-pressure signals shortly afterward. I am not claiming the vehicle accelerated on its own. The data appears to show driver accelerator input. My concern is that while FSD Supervised was active and the vehicle was already turning, the system allowed a strong accelerator override that rapidly worsened the situation. In this case, the vehicle went over a curb/sidewalk area and sustained significant damage. The safety concern I am reporting is whether FSD Supervised should better limit, warn, or manage strong accelerator override during low-speed turning maneuvers, especially where the vehicle may leave the roadway, cross a curb, or enter a sidewalk area. I believe this involved driver error as a mistake pedal acceleration, but the system design may have allowed that error to create a more dangerous outcome.Read more

My 2018 Jeep Compass, with approximately 107,000 miles, has developed symptoms consistent with the oil pump/oil pressure defects reported in other recalled Jeep Compass vehicles. These symptoms have become recurrent and appear to be worsening over time. The vehicle was evaluated by a Jeep dealership. The dealer scanned the vehicle but did not provide a repair for the underlying issue and instead advised us to continue adding coolant as needed. Despite this, the vehicle continues to exhibit the same dangerous symptoms, including the oil pressure warning light and stalling while driving. I am aware that certain 2018 Jeep Compass vehicles were recalled for oil pump-related defects; however, my vehicle was not included in the recall population. Because my vehicle is experiencing similar symptoms, I believe additional 2018 Jeep Compass vehicles outside the current VIN range may be affected. I am filing a safety complaint for my 2020 BMW X4, VIN [XXX]. The vehicle recently began making a noticeable noise while turning. I am concerned the worn thrust rod bushings involve the same general front suspension/steering/vehicle-handling system as the turning-noise concern I reported. I asked BMW North America and the dealer to review whether this condition may relate to or overlap with known BMW X4 steering/front axle/suspension recalls, including NHTSA Recall Nos. 19V678000, 19V738000, and 20V355000. BMW/dealer representatives stated there are no open recalls for my VIN and that BMW NA will not provide assistance, but I have not received a complete written explanation confirming that the dealer’s actual findings were reviewed against those recalls, campaigns, or safety concerns. On XXX, the service manager emailed that BMW NA Customer Relations allegedly said there are no open cases, the most recent case was closed, no assistance will be provided for suspension concerns, and the vehicle has no open recalls. The same email required return of the loaner by 5:00 PM if repairs are not approved. I am concerned this pressure is occurring before a complete safety/recall review is provided. In January of 2025 I received a letter for a recall with no remedy for the Hydrualic Brake Control Unit that is susceptible to failure or malfunction which may result in a reduction or change of Anti-Lock Brake System ("ABS")/Electronic Stability Control ("ESC") /Traction Control performance. I am told by FCA that brake failure is possible putting my safety and my family's safety at risk. Vehicle has not been inspected by anyone other than myself. While operating vehicle, warning lamps will illuminate an audible sound will alarm, and then the system will clear. This will happen numerous times over and over and over while driving. During the second day of ownership I was driving with no vehicles in front of me and only oncoming traffic, and I heard a loud cracking sound from the windshield. It did not sound like something impacted the windshield, and I did not see any object coming toward the vehicle. Two parallel cracks immediately developed in the windshield beginning from the headliner directly in front of the driver's s
... eat, and they spread down toward the dash approximately 4", then the cracks turned, remaining parallel, and spread horizontally toward the passenger side of the vehicle. The lower crack stopped, while the upper crack spread the following day to the rearview mirror assembly. Dealership determined it to be caused by impact, but the manner in which the crack spread and the path it took suggests improper windshield installation from the factory and improper tension on the glass, perhaps from a faulty or improperly installed windshield clip. BMW online forums suggest many customers are having identical problems with windshield tension cracking on this generation of the X3, complete with narratives and photographs.Read more

When the warnings are present, multiple Honda Sensing safety features are disabled simultaneously. To address a possible low-voltage condition, I replaced the vehicle’s battery with a new battery. After replacement and normal driving, the warnings continued to occur. The issue therefore does not appear to be solely related to battery condition. I also observed clouding and dark spotting within the front Honda emblem that covers the forward radar sensor. The discoloration appears to be inside the emblem assembly rather than on the exterior surface. Because the radar sensor is located behind this emblem, I am concerned that deterioration of the emblem or radar assembly may be affecting the operation of critical safety systems. This failure impacts several safety-related functions, including adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking, lane keeping assistance, road departure mitigation, and automatic high beams. The loss of multiple advanced driver-assistance systems creates a potential safety risk because the vehicle’s collision avoidance and lane assistance features become unavailable without warning. I am submitting this complaint to document a recurring failure affecting multiple Honda Sensing safety systems on my 2019 Honda Odyssey. There are numerous YouTube and social media posts on the same failure for same vehicle. It seems to be an issue for 2019 yearRead more

For the past year, I have been dealing with a recurring check engine light on my Ford Fusion related to Diagnostic Trouble Code P0301 – Cylinder 1 Misfire. Despite multiple repair attempts by qualified mechanics, the issue continues to return, leaving me with mounting repair bills, lost confidence in my vehicle, and serious concerns about its reliability and safety. Every time the check engine l
... ight has appeared, I have taken my vehicle in for diagnosis and repair. Each time, I was assured the problem had been fixed. However, the repair would only last anywhere from a week to a month before the exact same code would return. I have now experienced this issue on August 8 2025, January 9 2026, April 20 2026, May 19 2026, and June 1 2026. I have paid to address the same problem, along with related repairs, five separate times. Even more concerning, my vehicle has broken down and left me stranded on the side of the road three out of those five occurrences. No vehicle owner should have to repeatedly face the same unresolved issue after spending significant money on repairs and maintenance. After conducting extensive research, I discovered that I am far from alone. I have found numerous reports from other Ford Fusion owners experiencing the exact same Cylinder 1 misfire issue, many of whom have also been unable to find a permanent solution despite repeated repairs. This appears to be a widespread problem affecting many customers, not an isolated incident. As a Ford customer, I expected a dependable vehicle that I could trust to safely get me where I need to go. Instead, I have spent the last year dealing with recurring failures, unexpected expenses, and the constant fear of being stranded again. When so many owners are reporting the same defect with no lasting repair available, it raises a serious question: Why has this issue not been investigated for a recall or other manufacturer supported corrective action? I urge Ford to thoroughly investigate this recurring issue.Read more

While driving on the highway at 70mph my transmission malfunction warning light illuminated in red and my vehicle went into limp mode, creating a life threatening safety defect at highway speeds. I immediately took the vehicle to Mercedes Benz of Pittsburgh. The dealer's own diagnostic tech notes stated 'software is in preparation for concern' confirming this is a known safety defect on Mercedes'
... end. The dealer was unable to replicate the concern or produce stored fault codes but acknowledged software is actively being developed to address this issue. I contacted MBUSA who confirmed the only escalation path available is a buyback, meaning Mercedes cannot provide a timeline for the software fix. I am currently unable to safely drive my vehicle and am requesting this be investigated as a potential safety defect that may affect other 2021 Mercedes GLB 250 owners.Read more
