I took my vehicle to a dealership in response to the recent recall for the PTU unit. They simply "updated software" and claim the error code indicating ptu issues was not present and therefore are not required to replace the part. I then contacted FCA, they said they would escalate my concern and would get a response but I never heard back. Ive read multiple reports that Jeep always uses "software updates" as their fix, and that software updates can actually mask mechanical issues, which seems kind of sleazy that they will not replace the recalled part especially when relative issues are happening and if it does fail entirely while driving, it could be very dangerous. It was my understanding that manufacturers are required to replace anything recalled, regardless of whether its faulted. Im scared to drive my car, this feels like Jeep is being negligent.Read more

Last night, I was driving down the road and all of a sudden my car just stopped. It still had power, but the engine had stopped. I tried to restart was unable to.

Driver side and passenger side axle-area, making loud clicking and popping sounds on turns indicating major damage to CV joint, at around 10,000 miles. Primarily heard on sharply turned wheel acceleration. Two dealerships said they "couldn't reproduce the issue" even though I showed them the issue on recorded video. I demand that this be taken seriously as a recall.

I decided to have my car towed to the service shop that I usually take my car to when I’m not doing minor replacements and they said that it was a problem with the engine due to a manufacturer design fault. The said that as a result of the design flaw coolant was getting into the engine. They said that it was coolant intrusion. I did my research and found out that my car falls under this known fault. I have a 2018 Ford Escape. I was not made aware of this problem when I purchased my vehicle in November of 2022. At that time there was a voluntary program that said that owners with this make could have a one time replacement of the engine. I am now out of a car as a result of this known problem. I called the company based on advice from my mechanic and they denied me a goodwill assistance repair. They open a case report and the case number is [XXX]. I attempted to have the recall performed by an authorized Jeep/Stellantis dealership, Carson Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Carson City, Nevada. During communications with the dealership’s Service Manager, I was informed that the dealership would not pe

The dealership further stated that if their evaluation determined the hybrid battery required replacement, they would retain (“quarantine”) the vehicle for an extended period and would not provide alternative transportation beyond a limited initial period, requiring me to pay for a rental thereafter. I objected to being required to pay transportation costs caused by a manufacturer safety recall and to signing waivers as a condition of recall service. I made clear that I was requesting that the recall be performed. The dealership then refused further service and removed me as a customer, stating that because I would not agree to their conditions they would not perform the recall and recommending I find another dealer. I subsequently sent written notice to Stellantis / Jeep corporate headquarters explaining the situation and requesting assistance to complete the recall. Stellantis did not respond to either of my written notices. While traveling at a high rate of speed, the power steering light came on, and the steering wheel locked up and became almost impossible to turn. After pulling over and turning the vehicle off, the problem went away. But only to have the problem happen again, twice more creating unsafe driving conditions.

Car just started jerking and eventually stopped. I had it checked and was told the turbo was gone. Took it to Honda they said the head gaskets are blown. The car is 5 1/2 years old and it not one time ever ran hot. I’m not the only one with this issue. Honda needs to do something to fix this.
