Vehicle Information: •Year/Make/Model: [2022, Honda HR-V •VIN (17 digits): [[XXX] •Current Mileage: 22000 Miles Description of Safety Defect: The electronic power steering system suffers from a severe defect causing the steering wheel to seize, bind, and freeze completely locked while the vehicle is in motion. This binding defect causes a sudden, unpredictable loss of steering control, forci
... ng the driver to struggle with the wheel or wait for the system to loosen, presenting an extreme, imminent risk of a motor vehicle crash, injury, or death. Chronological Incident Summary: Over the last six months, the steering wheel on this vehicle has frozen completely while driving on four separate occasions. The incidents occurred under normal driving conditions at varying speeds. During each occurrence, the steering wheel momentarily locked tight, resisting all manual steering input. The vehicle did not provide any electronic warning lights or dashboard errors prior to or during the failures. Control was only regained after forcefully wrestling with the wheel or, in some cases, safely pulling over to restart the vehicle engine. Manufacturer/Dealer Action: The vehicle was taken to an authorized Honda dealership to address this catastrophic safety failure. However, the service department refused to acknowledge the issue, stating they could not replicate the malfunction and declined to perform any diagnostic repairs. Public Context & Recall Relevance: This defect perfectly replicates the failure mode thoroughly documented under NHTSA Recall Campaign 24V744000 for "sticky steering" and binding gearboxes in 2023–2025 Honda HR-V models. Despite widespread online consumer reports and thousands of matching manufacturer warranty claims for the exact same steering gearbox swelling issue, the dealer has failed to provide the necessary remedy. I am filing this complaint because the manufacturer's denial of this known defect leaves an inherently dangerous vehicle on public INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACRead more

Brakes always collapse to the Floor. You cannot stick your toe in between the brake and the floorboard. But if you pump up the brakes like you used in the 1970''s the brake will rise and you can put a full foot underneath between the brake and the floorboard. Those making the brakes stop the truck 80%better. But if you put it in 4x4 mode there is almost no stopping power at all. You only have 10%
... of your brakes. Both issues can cause death and or injuries! If 4x4 is used on the road for rain or snow it will cause death and if your lucky just a major injury!!!!!!Read more

My car started overheating on my way home. I pulled over to find that there is a hole in my lower radiator hose, which was caused by the lower radiator hose being rubbed against the belt that is turned by the water pump. I had my wife and child bring me coolant on the side of the road where I was broken down. I eventually was able to get my car to my brothers but it required multiple stops and ref
... illing of coolant. Once we got the car jacked up and the lower radiator hose replaced, we found the bottom of the radiator is loose and is pushing the lower radiator hose against the belt that rubbed the hole into the lower radiator hose. I then had my car towed to Dan Cummins in Georgetown Kentucky, located at 1470 Cherry Blossom Way, Georgetown, KY 40324. The mechanic drove my car that I had towed to the shop which damaged the new radiator hose that I had just put on the car. Dan Cummins of Georgetown Kentucky, who is an authorized Chevrolet Dealership, was informed (by me) that some 2016 Chevy Malibu's have been recalled because of a faulty lower radiator mount causing the lower radiator hose to push against the belt which causes the lower radiator hose to get a hole and leak. Dan Cummins suggested that I report my issue because my VIN is not covered by the recall. Authorized Chevy dealer Dan Cummins also suggested that I take my car elsewhere to be repaired while refusing to cover the damage they caused to the brand new lower radiator hose that I had purchased and put on the car. I would like for my Chevy Malibu with VIN [XXX] added to the recall so that I can have my Chevy Malibu repaired by an authorized Chevy dealership at no cost to me for something I did not do or cause. I am filing a safety complaint regarding a 2024 Honda Pilot Touring with approximately 46,000 miles. The exact component or system that failed is currently UNKNOWN. My best assessment is that this may involve the electrical system, powertrain, engine control/software system, charging system, Auto Idle Stop system, or another related vehicle control system. The vehicle is currently available for i
... nspection upon request. The vehicle has had intermittent multiple warning lights appear on the dashboard. On June 7, 2026 around 9:00pm, while the vehicle was in Drive, the vehicle shut off/lost power. This created a serious safety risk because the vehicle was being operated when the shutdown/loss-of-power event occurred. I am concerned this could happen again while driving, including at freeway speeds or while transporting a child. The problem has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by the dealer. The vehicle was taken to a Honda authorized dealership for inspection. The dealership advised that the battery tested fine and that no diagnostic trouble codes were found so far. Diagnostics are still pending, and as of this complaint, no confirmed cause, diagnosis, or repair has been provided. The vehicle has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. American Honda Motor Co. has been contacted, and a case has been opened regarding this concern. Warning lamps/symptoms did occur before the shutdown/loss-of-power event. The vehicle had intermittent multiple warning lights on the dashboard before/around the time of the incident. The warning lights first appeared on or around June 3, 2026. The shutdown/loss-of-power event occurred on or around June 7, 2026. I am requesting that NHTSA document this safety issue involving a 2024 Honda Pilot Touring shutting off/loss of power while in Drive with no confirmed diagnosis or repair at this time.Read more

An intermittent electrical failure occurred to my wife causing my 2021 Volvo XC60 to stop and then later go into limp mode while driving. ... in... it is a known issue to Volvo. They purposively produce a vehicle that is known for sunroof leaks which knowingly leads to electrical issues exposing their customers to harm. Volvo (Geely) inspected the car, found the electrical issues from the front interior to the battery compartment that had water over an inch deep. the VGM (Vehicle Gateway Module) was replaced and reloaded, all connectors were separate/dried and several had to be cut/spliced and rewired due to corrosion damage. Carpets were removed, the gasket was replaced, the front and rear sun roof drains were cleaned out. Aside from the safety concern the shrinking of the rubber gasket caused the issue. Not funny, but Volvo/Geely states that the repair now has a lifetime warranty after I was charged over $4,000 USD. The vehicle is only about 5 years old!!Read more

I purchase my 2018 Traverse in 2020 from day one there was a transmission problem. Took it to a Chevrolet dealer and they told me there something broken inside the transmission which it was still under warranty. A year later we notice the transmission would slip from time to time. Took it to the dealership told the service department the issue I was having with the vehicle. Just to be on the safe

Maybe three weeks later it was still doing the same thing slipping from time to time. Now current yesterday I went to the store with no problem, went to leave the vehicle wouldn't go in reverse and barely wanting to move. I had to put the transmission into manual to get it home. The next day I was able to drive it to the dealership to see what was wrong with it. A few hours later, I received the unwanted phone call saying the transmission was done. I was told $11,000 dollars for the repair and two weeks for it to be complete. Now I am stuck in between a hard place and a rock. I am not sure if I want to take the chance on having it replaced for it to do the same thing again in the future.Read more

May 15, 2026 - After driving highway speeds for 2 hours on a road trip, the steering wheel started to stick when trying to make small adjustments driving straight. It seemed like it could only move in notches, not glide smoothly. May 17, 2026 - After driving highway speeds for 1 hour, the same thing started happening again and continued for the remaining 2 hours of the trip. May 29, 2026 - After
... driving highway speeds for 2.5 hours, the steering wheel started to stick again but this time I could also hear a little clicking noise every time I made a small adjustment to the wheel that moved it into a "notched" position created by the stickiness. The clunky movements of the steering wheel made me nervous driving on narrow curvy roads. I drove 5 hours one way where it started doing this halfway into the trip and 5 hours back home the same day with it sticking & clicking the entire time as I made minor movements of the wheel. It was not isolated to fast speeds; it continued at slow speeds. June 2, 2026 - The rear tires had been replaced 6 months earlier, so we decided to replace the front tires now to see if that would help resolve the issue. June 4, 2026 - After driving highway speeds at 2 hours, the steering wheel started sticking and clicking again. New tires did not fix the problem. Our destination was 2.5 hours from home. We returned home later the same day with the sticking & clicking starting after about an hour and continuing the rest of the way home. There have been no warning lights or messages related to this problem. June 9, 2026 - We've seen online that there have been recalls on newer model CR-Vs for the EPS gear box. We called our mechanic and described what we're experiencing. He agreed that it sounded like an EPS issue and recommended we report it to NHTSA. Because the issue doesn't surface until at least an hour of driving highway speeds, it's hard to reproduce on demand.Read more

In November 2025, I was driving an errand on city streets in a neighborhood. Speed was approximately 30-35MPH. Two lane road. There were no hazards in the road and while I was descending down a hill, my forward collision/emergency braking system activating, causing my vehicle to come to a complete and full stop from road speed. This had happened several other times when reversing out of parking s
... pots into traffic or driving position but since the speed was slow and I do have cross traffic/collision avoidance, I initially I assume it was related to surrounding vegetation and sensor sensitivity. The issue happened again in December 2025 but I was moving at a much slower pace. In May 2025, I had the BMW integrated braking system recall addressed (NHTS #24V1040034860200). However, per the NHTSAA website, it appears there was a subsequent recall/safety repair required for the exact same issue, NHTS Recall #24V739000. I was not aware of this; was not notified by the dealership nor BMW and it could correlate to this issue. On June 4, 2026, I took my BMW to the BMW of El Cajon dealership in order to investigate the issue, as well as to address a nail in a tire and a brake warning light. Prior to attending the appointment, I noted the second recall for the braking system. However, the dealership is not checking or simply stating that there is no open recall on my vehicle which does not correlate with the NHTSA website. I am pushing this issue up the administrative chain of command but am very concerned. The dealership is simply attempting to replicate the issue without further investigation and refused to check the computer system nor the equipment replaced in May 2025 to confirm that there are no mechanical/system failures. Had this issue occurred on a freeway, I would have been in HUGE danger. I request that the NHTSA look into BMW and, specifically, this dealerships handling of mandatory safety recalls.Read more
