On May 11th I was driving my 2019 Mazda CX-5 with approximately 35,000 miles when my cabin filled with the smell of gasoline. The smell became overwhelming within minutes, causing concern for my safety and the safety of other drivers. I immediately drove to the closest auto repair/body shop for an emergency inspection. Upon inspection, the technicians discovered there was a "crack at rear cylin
... der head and leaking oil excessively. Oil is leaking on to hot exhaust manifold....car is not safe to drive since oil leak is excessive". I was advised that this must be a manufacturer defect as you should not see this issue at such low mileage. The vehicle was then towed to the nearest Mazda dealership/service center, where a cracked rear cylinder head was diagnosed and confirmed. I was informed that continued operation of the vehicle could have resulted in catastrophic engine failure, engine seizure, fire risk from leaking oil contacting hot engine components, or sudden loss of power while driving, creating an extremely dangerous driving situation. Prior to the failure, there were no major warning indicators other than the sudden strong fuel/oil smell. The issue occurred unexpectedly despite the vehicle being properly maintained and having low mileage for a major engine failure. I have been the sole owner. The vehicle is currently available for inspection upon request.Read more

Hi, yes the component is the CV axle on the driver side front wheel. Whenever I make a left turn, the driver side CV axle makes a clicking noise. Also, sometimes, when I make a right turn, especially when going slower, the same drive side front wheel CV makes a clicking noise. It is available for inspection upon request. The safety seems OK, but we are fearful that is could break and cause an acci
... dent. We brought the the car to the Honda Norm Reeves in Cerritos on April 3rd, 2026, and the dealership told us it was a common issue. And right now there are no parts available for it. It's not a safety issue, so we shouldn't worry about it. So we took them at their word. But we are still nervous about it so which is why we're reporting it. The vehicle has not been inspected by manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. There were not any symptoms of warning lamps or messages of the problem prior to failure.Read more

I am reporting an issue with the driver seat in my 2026 Toyota Camry SE model. The seat exhibits abnormal movement, shifting, instability, and popping sensations in the seatback (lumper support) area during normal driving conditions, specifically while accelerating or coming to a stop. It is also more noticeable during warming climates than cooler climates. The issue feels like looseness or move
... ment of internal seat components and creates a distraction and potential safety concern while operating the vehicle. It has become very uncomfortable to sit and drive the vehicle. It feels like if someone is kicking the seat from behind. I brought the vehicle to three different Toyota dealership for inspection. The dealership acknowledged the issue and opened a TAS (Technical Assistance System) case with Toyota Motor Corporation. An attempted repair and inspection were performed; however, the issue still persists. After researching online owner forums and discussions, I found multiple reports from other Toyota Camry owners describing similar driver seat problems, suggesting this may not be an isolated incident. The ongoing seat movement negatively affects driver confidence and comfort and may create a safety risk by distracting the driver or altering seating position while driving.Read more

I am reporting a serious safety defect involving my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon (VIN: [XXX]). The most significant issue occurred at approximately 50,000 miles when the vehicle experienced a violent steering and suspension instability event commonly referred to as "death wobble." While traveling at approximately 60 mph on a highway, the vehicle suddenly began shaking violently from side to side. Th
... e steering wheel became extremely difficult to control, and I had to fight to maintain control of the vehicle while slowing down in active traffic. The event was severe enough that I genuinely feared the vehicle could roll over or cause a collision. Prior to my experience, my wife experienced a similar incident while driving the same vehicle. The safety risk extends beyond my family to surrounding motorists who could be involved if the driver loses control. Immediately following the incident, I contacted the servicing dealership, Jeep Chrysler of Somerset, Massachusetts. The dealership informed me this was a known issue and instructed me not to drive the vehicle above 55 mph until it could be inspected. After inspection, I was advised that the steering damper was defective and that additional suspension-related components could also be contributing factors. The steering damper was replaced, but I was required to pay for the repair. The dealership further advised that instability could continue and recommended changing to smaller tires to reduce the issue. I also reported concerns through Jeep/Stellantis customer service channels and have documented multiple service visits regarding this and other vehicle issues. Despite repairs, the vehicle has never driven the same. My family avoids highway travel in the vehicle, and we do not feel comfortable transporting our children on long trips due to concern INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Please find the details regarding the sudden, dangerous failure of my vehicle below. The itemized findings are pulled directly from the dealership’s multi-point inspection and diagnostic report. When was the first time (approximate date) you noticed the issue? The issue culminated in an immediate, hazardous crisis on XXX when the vehicle completely shut down while in operation and refused to re
... start. How often does the issue happen within a time frame (e.g., once a month)? This is a permanent, catastrophic mechanical failure. The engine is completely inoperable and the vehicle is entirely undriveable. What is the name & title of the person(s) assisting you at the dealer? I am being assisted by Victoria Dalessandro at Honda City Long Island in [XXX]. What is the reason/explanation provided by the dealer, as to what caused this issue? Following a formal engine teardown, the dealership confirmed a severe internal failure: a lower engine knock originating from the front connecting rod bearing. This internal component defect completely seized the powertrain, causing the vehicle to shut down and rendering the engine unrepairable. What repairs/services have been completed (if any)? Only the initial teardown and diagnostic inspection have been completed. No repairs will be authorized until American Honda Motor Company, Inc. assumes corporate financial responsibility for this premature powertrain failure. What repairs/services have been suggested? The dealership has stated that a complete engine replacement is required, suggesting a used engine swap ($7,609.92). In conjunction with this catastrophic failure, they have itemized necessary peripheral parts and critical safety wear, including new spark plugs, a replacement drive belt, failed lower control arms ($1,704.28), leaking front struts, degraded stabilizer links, and fluid exchanges. costs estimated for the repair (if any?) I am reporting a recurring drivetrain defect in my 2022 Genesis G70 3.3T Sport Prestige AWD (current mileage: 20,000 miles). The vehicle produces a prominent, loud mechanical whining and droning noise specifically when driving within the speed range of 55 mph to 65 mph. The issue is highly load-dependent: the noise significantly intensifies and gets louder when decelerating/coasting down through t
... his speed window without the brakes applied and it is very prominent on smooth roads or highway. The sound distinctly originates from the front front-end/drivetrain area, heavily pointing to an issue with the front axle differential ring/pinion gear mesh or a failing pinion bearing. The manufacturer (Genesis Corporate) and authorized local dealership Genesis of [XXX] have acknowledged hearing the noise but are currently refusing to perform repairs or replace components under the factory powertrain warranty, claiming that because another vehicle of this specification make the same sound, it is a "normal operating characteristic". A severe, loud drivetrain whine that worsens on deceleration indicates mechanical play or improper factory tolerances. Left unaddressed, a failing differential or bearing can bind or fail catastrophically at highway speeds, posing a severe sudden locking hazard and safety risk.
