The Harley Infotainment System stops working and goes blank in numerous riding cycles and within one riding cycle it can fail numerous times. Over the air updates have failed to correct this safety flaw as have any rider inputs of software adjustments. This creates a serious safety concern due to the rider attempting to "fiddle" with the infotainment unit constantly while riding.

I own a 2018 Ford Escape equipped with the 1.5L EcoBoost engine. My vehicle experienced a known coolant intrusion defect in which coolant leaks internally into the engine cylinders. This issue appears consistent with problems reported by many other owners of similar Ford vehicles and engine configurations. The vehicle experienced symptoms including coolant loss without an external leak, engine mi
... sfires, rough operation, and diagnostic trouble codes including P0316. The condition progressed to a determination that the engine requires replacement due to coolant entering the combustion chamber. This defect creates a significant safety concern because the engine can suddenly misfire, lose power, hesitate, run roughly, or potentially stall while driving. Sudden loss of power during traffic, highway travel, merging, or intersections creates a risk of collision. Ford has issued service bulletins and customer programs involving coolant intrusion and engine replacement on similar 1.5L EcoBoost vehicles, yet my VIN was reportedly excluded despite suffering the same failure pattern. This appears to be a design-related defect rather than ordinary wear and tear, which ford subsequently completely altered as they recognize the design failure. An internal engine defect causing coolant intrusion and catastrophic engine failure presents a potential safety issue affecting numerous consumers.Read more

My 2021 Audi A6 produces a strong mold and mildew odor from the HVAC/air conditioning system. The smell occurs consistently after the air conditioning is turned off and persists when entering the vehicle. The issue appears to originate from mold growth on the evaporator coil or dampers, likely caused by moisture accumulation and inadequate condensate drainage in the HVAC system. The vehicle was in
... spected and treated at an authorized Audi dealership; however, the treatment did not resolve the issue and the odor returned. Online owner forums and communities document the same problem across multiple Audi models and model years, suggesting this is a systemic design or manufacturing issue rather than an isolated incident. A passenger in the vehicle — a minor child with a documented mold allergy — has experienced allergic reactions as a result of exposure to the vehicle's air conditioning output. This constitutes a health and safety concern. The mold contamination in the HVAC system poses a risk to vehicle occupants, particularly those with respiratory conditions or mold sensitivities. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether a defect exists in the HVAC/evaporator system design across Audi vehicles, and whether a safety recall or technical service bulletin is warranted.Read more

Subject: Request for Re-Evaluation and Expansion of Recall 23V-770 – Steering Gear Failure I am submitting this letter to formally request that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) re-evaluate Recall 23V-770 concerning defective steering gear assemblies and investigate additional affected vehicles from the 2022 model year. Vehicles sold during the 2022 production year appe
... ar to experience the same steering gear defect identified in Recall 23V-770. The steering gear assemblies installed in these vehicles use the exact same part numbers as the components already covered under the existing recall. Due to COVID-era production and supply limitations, relatively few of these vehicles were imported and sold in the United States during 2022. As vehicle mileage accumulates, owners are now beginning to experience steering gear failures, many occurring at or before 20,000 miles. These failures indicate that the defect may not be limited to the currently recalled production range. The evidence strongly suggests that additional 2022 vehicles equipped with the same steering gear assemblies should be included in the recall population. This issue presents a serious safety concern due to the potential for loss of steering control and increased crash risk. I respectfully request that NHTSA: • Investigate 2022 vehicles equipped with the same steering gear part numbers covered under Recall 23V-770 • Review warranty claims, field reports, and dealership repair records related to premature steering gear failure • Determine whether the recall scope should be expanded to include these additional vehicles I appreciate your attention to this matter and your continued commitment to publicRead more

The vehicle involved is a 2019 Kia Sorento with approximately 111,000 miles. Over the course of ownership, the vehicle has experienced numerous unresolved mechanical and safety-related issues, including ongoing fuel leak concerns, excessive oil consumption/loss of oil, rough shifting, shift solenoid problems, rattling noises, shaking/vibration while driving, and repeated drivability issues. The p

I have been told by at least three separate mechanics that the vehicle appears to have a fuel leak. During my most recent oil change at Valvoline, the technician expressed concern about the safety of driving the vehicle in this condition and warned me that driving a vehicle with a fuel leak could be dangerous. I previously brought the vehicle to Kia dealerships multiple times while the extended warranty was active and specifically requested inspection for the suspected fuel leak. On at least three separate visits, I was informed by the dealership that they could not find or confirm a leak. Because the issue was never resolved or properly diagnosed while under warranty, I am now out of warranty coverage and facing potentially dangerous and costly repairs. This issue has placed my safety and the safety of others at risk due to fear of possible fire hazards, stalling, or sudden vehicle failure while driving. Because of these concerns, I have significantly reduced driving the vehicle and currently do not feel safe operating it regularly. This has created substantial hardship because this is my only vehicle for work and daily life. Additional unresolved issues with the vehicle include: - Persistent rough shifting and shifting hesitation - Shift solenoid issues - Ongoing excessive oil consumption/loss of oil with no confirmed source - Constant rattling noises - Excessive vibration/shaking while driving - AC system failure around 60,000 miles - Electrical seat failurRead more

My Toyota vehicle has a recurring HVAC/air conditioning odor problem that produces a strong vinegar-like or mildew smell from the air vents whenever warmer weather returns and the air conditioning system is used again. The odor is extremely unpleasant and affects the air quality inside the vehicle cabin. The condition repeatedly returns seasonally despite attempts to clean the system. I brought
... the vehicle to an authorized Toyota dealership for inspection and was told that this issue is “common with Toyotas.” The dealership did not provide a permanent repair and instead recommended spraying a cleaning product into the HVAC system. The cleaner did not resolve the issue, and the odor continues to return. The problem appears related to moisture retention, microbial growth, or contamination within the HVAC evaporator or drainage system. I am concerned about prolonged exposure to contaminated air inside the passenger compartment, especially during regular use of the air conditioning system. Toyota should investigate this recurring HVAC odor condition and determine whether a design or manufacturing defect exists involving the evaporator, condensate drainage, or ventilation system. Owners should not be expected to repeatedly mask the odor with temporary spray products when the underlying issue remains unresolved.Read more

Since before September 2025, the driver’s side rear TPMS sensor has been intermittently showing a TPMS fault while the vehicle is already in motion. The vehicle is still under the bumper to bumper warranty. This fault is not always on, but it does comes on while driving. The vehicle always shows the fault in the rear driver’s TPMS sensor. I brought the vehicle to a Ford dealer on September 2
... 3, 2025 and they said the tire pressure was low, but upon leaving the dealership the issue came back. The car was brought to a Ford dealer again for the issue on May 2, 2026 and they said the issue couldn’t be replicated and suggested the issue may be a wired baby monitor (due to radio frequency interference) however the wired baby monitor does not emit any radio frequency. We alerted Ford’s corporate customer care and they set up a second opinion at another dealer for May 9, 2026 but when we brought the car that dealer turned us away claiming to not have a record of the appointment. This is an issue of safety as the sensor fault consistently shows at highway speeds (70 mph+). The sensors cannot be trusted which can potentially lead to an accident due to a blow out at high speeds. At this time, Ford has not been helpful in getting this safety issues resolved. If you google the issue, there are plenty of forums talking about the same issue with their Mustang Mach E.Read more

Motorized struts to lift and close the rear lift gate have failed. The struts do work to open the lift gate but they do not work to close it. Manually closing the lift gate is extremely difficult because of the electric motors inside of the struts. A known problem by Toyota as they have issued a TSB. Toyota’s solution is to replace the struts at a cost of $1200. My concern about this being a
... safety issue: Closing the lift gate after accessing the spare tire is extremely difficult. If my wife would inadvertently open the lift gate, which does work, after leaving the grocery store to put all of the groceries in the back, she would not have the strength to manually close it. Obviously, the vehicle cannot be driven with the open tail gate. This is not any different than if any of the doors could not be closed due to defective hinges. The premature failure of motorized struts is a fairly common problem with Highlanders. ToyotaNation, which is a Toyota sponsored forum for owners to communicate with other owners about issues/problems, contains numerous posts about the failure of motorized struts on the rear lift gate. Your attention to this matter is greatly appreciated. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

My car started making a sound similar to a cracked muffler but it was a very quiet sound that lasted a minute or two and went away. I thought something was loose and took to repair shop. My catalytic converter was cracked & the mechanic said it was in a place he had never seen before. Very high up. He tried to go through GM but my issue isn’t the same as any other that had been reported. My car
... only has 53,536 miles on it and I bought it new in October of 2019. I maintain consistent maintenance on it at the same repair shop. There is a recall on this car about emissions and possibly affecting the catalytic converter. If I do not fall into that recall so be it but maybe I am not the only person reporting this issue. I just want to have it on record in case it ever does become a recall.Read more

While driving home from my way to work, an esc sensor alert went off on the dashboard display. My truck was sent into limp mode, could not accelerate anymore and as soon as I pulled off onto the side of the road the truck died. I was never able to start the truck again. Determined it was an engine lock up when I tried to turn the crankshaft by hand.

The vehicle experienced a sudden steering malfunction involving the electronic steering gear. While backing out of a parking structure, the steering wheel suddenly jerked and locked instead of naturally correcting, resulting in collision with a pillar. There were no warning lights, steering fault messages, or prior symptoms before the incident. Restarting the vehicle did not resolve the issue. Th
... e dealership confirmed the issue and documented “loss of communication with steering gear,” “internal steering gear failure,” and “no signs of damage causing failure.” The steering gear is being replaced under warranty. The failure created a safety risk because steering response suddenly changed without warning. I am concerned the incident could have resulted in a more serious crash had it occurred at higher speed or during active traffic instead of inside a parking structure. Multiple tow attempts through Ford Roadside Assistance reportedly struggled to move the vehicle afterward due to the steering issue. The failed steering gear component is currently being replaced by the dealership.Read more
