I have experienced a severe hesitation or delay in acceleration when accelerating from a stop or near-stop condition. While the issue has only occurred a few times over the past several months, on multiple occasions it happened while merging into traffic and nearly resulted in an accident. Toyota has issued Technical Service Bulletin (TSB-0032-26) addressing this condition. However, when I brough
... t my vehicle to the dealership, Toyota documented that they were unable to reproduce or confirm the hesitation, and no repair was performed. This defect presents a significant safety risk. Unexpected loss of acceleration during traffic merges, intersections, or other situations requiring immediate power can place drivers and passengers in danger and could lead to serious injury or death. Given the safety implications and the fact that the remedy appears to be a software update requiring less than an hour to perform, I believe this issue warrants a formal safety recall rather than a voluntary Technical Service Bulletin. I urge NHTSA to investigate this matter and require Toyota to provide a recall remedy for all affected vehicles.Read more

Hyundai Motors America has failed to comply with its statutory obligations in conducting the recall campaign 25V796, and is instead engaging in behavior substantially similar to that which has been previously censured by NHTSA. My Sonata suffered irreparable damage related to this campaign as confirmed by HMA. 49 U.S.C. § 30120(a)(1)(A) allows HMA to choose one of three remedies: repair, replace
... ment, or refund. However, they 1) say it cannot be safely repaired, 2) will not replace it, and 3) are not offering a repurchase as required by statute, i.e. "by refunding the purchase price, less a reasonable allowance for depreciation." Instead, Hyundai's case manager Aditya informed me on 5/29/2026 at 12:57 PM that they will make a repurchase offer "based on the Kelly Blue Book value." I protested and cited the statute, but he maintained that Hyundai has their process and subsequently gave an unconscionably low offer that was not based on any reasonable measure of depreciation. I insisted on a reasonable, defensible calculation. I proposed 1) using the state formula for calculating reasonable depreciation as applied in both Texas and California (HMA and my home states), or 2) using actual market values (of which I have tangible data) to determine the actual market loss in value. Hyundai has rejected both of these reasonable proposals in favor of an arbitrary formula that would leave me with thousands of dollars in lost value. On June 9, 2026, when I pressed Executive Case Manager Jenifer for an explanation of their proposed depreciation formula, she only stated that "it’s a standard calculation across the board" and that it applies "regardless of state" and they "will not change it." The NHTSA discussed this behavior in its Final Order and Determination against Fiat in Federal Register Vol. 45 No. 7, and endorsed a "reasonable" model similar to my proposal #2 above. It found Fiat non-compliant for its behavior which had a nearly similar impact.Read more

I’m writing in for a massive safety violation at a XXX [XXX] [XXX]. Between June of 2024 - February 2026 I observed multiple techs smoking marijuana through out the day while working on customer vehicles. I read online who to contact and I have contacted OSHA, the XXX AG, and now you guys. It is a larger group of dealers known as XXX Automotive Partneship. They own Subaru, Toyota, Hyundai, Kia
... , Mazda, and VW. From my eyes and what I saw over the years it is not just the Subaru store. Everything is too lax and I’m sorry dangerous. Names you will need Service Manager [XXX], GM [XXX], HR director [XXX], amd regional fixed ops director [XXX]. I would say in the Subaru store alone 35-65% of the technicians use throughout the day. I will provide you with an anonymous email address if you have any further questions or want more info. If it were me I’d drug test everyone that puts hands on customer cars. The service advisors smoke weed a lot, 3/4 of the parts staff smoke weed (who knows if they are handing out the correct parts…that’s nother safety issue) INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

The uconnect system/ networking with sirusxm guardian, SOS mode, wifi all fail. This affects any remote unlock or lock feature, connection with Sos button in event of emergency. Not only is this showing failure through inside of the vehicle, but also through Guardian, the Mopar account page as well as the Jeep app. Mine personally shows last connection over a year ago. When attempts were made to remote throufh Sos by giardian, the system failed on their end. When attempted through the vehicle, it says system failure, no network connections. I have spoke with several Jeep owners who either have or are experiencing the same issues and not only is this a huge safety concern, but could potentially be a large liability if this is not resolved due to a failure of any conjunction in the event of an emergency. I work in the safety and emergency field for 15+ years and this is a highly recommended feature but Jeep is failing to provide a resolution or issue a recall to be investigated; in which if there is a system failure in an emergency and an owner is unable to activate any service, this could potentially be a very big lawsuit. When parked, the driver side mirror of various SPA Volvos seem to automatically adjust the driver side mirror in random directions after the driver exits the car. Then, on returning to the car, the mirror is not re-adjusted. Thus, if the driver fails to check the position of the mirror before driving off, they may find themselves in a situation where the mirror is unexpectedly out of alignment and
... they are unable to view behind them and to the left. They then have to re-adjust the mirror to its proper position while driving, which is unsafe. This is a known problem that has been reproduced by countless dealerships. The common fix is to replace the driver door module, however I believe there should be a recall for this as it poses a safety concern and some drivers may not have the means to pay for the replacement.Read more

The vehicle had been parked and closed when the water intrusion occurred, so I am concerned there may be a defect related to water sealing, electrical systems, or battery failure. The dealer confirmed that the seal was broken and might have been a manufacturing defect. This caused water seepage. But they were not sure if the water seepage was related to battery giving electrical warnings and going dead. This uncertainty caused more insecurity as we do not know the reason for battery failure exactly when water leaked into the vehicle. Please investigate whether this issue is related to a safety defect. ... g, I discovered visible bulges on all four tires. The tires are Goodyear Assurance RangeMax with DOT number 1M63P LF1R 1626. The bulges appear on each tire sidewall and raise concerns about a possible manufacturing defect or structural failure within the tires. The vehicle has not been involved in any accident, impact, pothole strike, or other event that would reasonably explain identical bulging on all four tires. I visited dealership and they confirmed it's manufacturing defects. Also, Goodyear service centre also confirmed it's manufacturing defects. Because tire sidewall bulges can indicate internal tire damage and increase the risk of tire failure, blowout, loss of vehicle control, crash, injury, or death, I believe this condition presents a significant safety concern. The fact that all four original-equipment tires exhibit similar bulging at very low mileage suggests the possibility of a defect affecting the tires or their manufacture. I am submitting this complaint so that NHTSA can investigate whether other consumers may be experiencing similar issues with Goodyear Assurance RangeMax tires installed on new Toyota Camry vehicles. Safety Concern: Potential tire sidewall defect resulting in bulging on all four tires at approximately 750 miles, creating a risk of tire failure, blowout, and loss of vehicle control. I noticed a whining sound coming from the vehicle. It would get louder as I accelerated. Took it into a mechanic he drove it, put it on the lift and said the noise was coming from the transmission. I took it to another shop and they quoted me $9,000. For a replacement. This is a problem that Toyota and other manufacturers know about. The CVT is unserviceable.

Since the first day of owing this 2019 CR V, the steering wheel did not smoothly turn. It would turn in small increments, somewhat jerking. As the years have gone by, the situation is worsened. I am afraid we will be in an accident along the highway. Today, I decided to check on what might be the cause, thinking something simple such as hydraulic fluid. Oh my gosh! I found 122 NHTSA complain

Honda AND NHTSA should both be concerned about the safefy of its customers. Brake systems and steering systems ought to top the list for recall considerations. What is the correct number of complaints to cause a recall? How many of those affected actually file a complaint? I suspect a very small number. Do people have to first be in an accident or be killed as a result of the problems identified by both the customers and their mechanics and dealerships?Read more

I am submitting this complaint to request an investigation into a serious safety defect involving my Tesla vehicle. On multiple occasions, the vehicle has experienced a significant and unexpected loss of acceleration when I attempted to enter or cross intersections. Despite pressing the accelerator, the vehicle failed to respond as expected, leaving me unable to accelerate normally while entering
... active traffic. This is not a minor hesitation or inconvenience. It is a serious roadway safety hazard. Drivers rely on immediate acceleration when crossing intersections, turning across traffic, or merging. A vehicle that unexpectedly limits acceleration can place occupants directly in the path of oncoming vehicles, creating a substantial risk of a severe collision, serious injury, or death. I reported this issue to Tesla Service and provided multiple timestamps documenting the events. Tesla was unable to identify any fault codes or provide a diagnosis and indicated that because no fault was recorded, the issue could not be confirmed. Through independent research, I found numerous reports from other Tesla owners describing substantially similar acceleration limitation events. Many reports specifically reference Obstacle Aware Acceleration as a possible cause, and some owners report that disabling the feature resolved the issue. If a safety system can falsely detect an obstacle and reduce acceleration while a driver is actively entering an intersection, the system itself may create a greater danger than the one it is designed to prevent. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate whether Tesla vehicles are experiencing unexpected acceleration limitation or torque reduction during intersection entry and traffic merging situations, evaluate the role of Obstacle Aware Acceleration and related software systems, determine whether a broader pattern exists, and assess whether corrective action or a recall is warranted. This could cause serious injury or fatal crashRead more

I am reporting a serious safety defect involving the door locking and electrical systems in my 2024 Audi SQ8. On two separate occasions the vehicle experienced a complete electrical malfunction. During the first incident, I and my child were trapped inside the vehicle. The doors would not open from the inside and the vehicle would not start. After the first incident, the vehicle was taken to an Au
... di dealership for inspection and repair. I was informed that the issue had been identified and repaired. Despite those repairs, the same safety issue occurred again. During the second incident, which was captured on video, the vehicle would not start despite repeated attempts. The vehicle malfunctioned again after the dealership had already stated the problem was fixed. Dealership personnel acknowledged that they could not guarantee the problem would not happen again. I was also provided a video demonstrating a manual emergency exit procedure because the electronic door locking system could become inoperative again. The dealership showed how occupants would have to use a mechanical override to exit if the electronic system failed again. This defect creates a significant safety risk because occupants can become trapped inside the vehicle unable to exit during an emergency. The inability to start the vehicle combined with failure of the electronic door locking system could delay escape in the event of a fire, collision, medical emergency, or other hazardous situation. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized Audi dealership multiple times. The problem was reproduced by the vehicle itself on multiple occasions, and I have video evidence documenting one of the incidents. Because of these repeated failures and the safety risk posed to me and everyone on the road I no longer feel it is safe to drive it.Read more

The keyless access unit broke around 100k miles. Car acted like it was having a seizure. If car was locked, alarm goes off nonstop (during these episodes, which are intermittent) and all dash lights and head lights blink on and off over and over in quick succession. If car was not locked, only the lights had a seizure, there would be no audible alarm. Seemed to happen more near towers (cell towers

Tesla does a warning if it can not detect your eyes on the road when using FSD (Full Self Driving). After few warnings on a trip it becomes a strike. After 5 strikes, they remove FSD and AutoPilot for a week. It becomes dangerous now since I have been driving on FSD for several years to drive the big CyberTruck without FSD. The removing FSD for a week behavior needs to be stopped. Without FSD chan

Escalation of Recurring Powertrain Issue and Warranty Denial This statement outlines a severe, recurring safety issue with my vehicle’s 8-speed Escalation of Recurring Powertrain Issue and Warranty Denial transmission, which the dealership has now recommended replacing at a cost of $7,500. I am formally disputing this out-of-pocket expense due to the vehicle's repair history and its alignment w
... ith active manufacturer recalls. First Incident (Towed to Dealership): The vehicle initially experienced severe jerking and hesitation during acceleration, which left me stranded roadside. It was towed to the dealership, where technicians diagnosed the issue as a faulty fuel injector. The injector was replaced at no cost, and I was assured the problem was resolved. Second Incident (Current Diagnosis): The vehicle recently began exhibiting the exact same symptoms: severe jerking and acceleration hesitation. Upon returning the vehicle to the dealership, technicians diagnosed the issue as a complete transmission failure requiring a full replacement. Recall Alignment: The dealership has stated that this replacement is not covered under warranty. However, this vehicle is actively experiencing every symptom outlined in the manufacturer's current 8-speed transmission recall. While my specific VIN is currently omitted from the recall list, the mechanical failure is identical to the recall parameters. Given that the underlying safety issue was present and documented during the first visit, and that the symptoms mirror an active manufacturing defect, I request that this repair be covered under goodwill or the existing safety campaign.Read more

Usually the car would be taken to a shop for an oil change and I did it myself last time and realized the oil was pretty low. I checked over the weekend and noticed the dip stick marked the oil as 2/3 full after waiting 10 minutes for it to cool down a bit. This is alarming because when I filled the oil it was close to the max level.

I had my car fixed from a recall for an engine oil pump or something like that. After it was fixed, my car will shut off when I’m at a stop light or while I’m driving. It is not safe and scares me. My check engine light will come on and off, and my local dealership won’t help unless the check engine light is on when I bring it in. This has been going on since early May.

My car is burning oil. I have returned multiple times to have it serviced and checked for leaks, but no leaks have been found. Before reaching the recommended 3,000-mile oil change interval, the oil level drops below the minimum mark on the dipstick. In addition, my engine has started making a knocking noise, which is very concerning.

The tire separated after only 20k miles. Mechanic stated that I still had half of the tires life left. Was advised not to drive more than a mile on it as it could blow out and cause harm to myself and 2 young children. I had two new tires put on the vehicle. My mechanic will be checking the two remaining at every oil change I have in the future. There was no warning, my vehicle started violently s
