Complaint Regarding 2018 Honda HR-V AWD – Air Conditioning Failure, Odometer Malfunction, and Prior Fuel Pump Replacement. I am filing a complaint regarding my 2018 Honda HR-V AWD due to ongoing mechanical and electrical issues that appear to affect many Honda HR-V owners. The primary issue is the air conditioning system, which has not been functioning consistently. The A/C repeatedly fails to
... cool properly and intermittently stops working altogether. I am aware that many other Honda HR-V owners have reported similar air conditioning problems, and Honda has offered extended warranty coverage for certain Honda vehicles with A/C system defects. However, my vehicle has not been included in that extended coverage, despite experiencing the same recurring issues. In addition, the vehicle previously required a fuel pump replacement in 2021. I am concerned that this may indicate broader reliability and safety-related defects affecting this model. The vehicle is also experiencing mechanical and electrical problems involving the odometer/instrumentation system. The odometer has shown irregular behavior and appears to malfunction intermittently, raising concerns about the accuracy of vehicle information and overall reliability. I have been experiencing these issues for years without any resolution. I reached out to Honda Customer Service about these issues, but because my "VIN" is not included in the recall or extended warranty, I haven't been able to get much help. I believe these issues warrant investigation, particularly given the number of similar complaints from other Honda HR-V owners. I respectfully request that Honda be required to extend warranty coverage and corrective action to include affected 2018 Honda HR-V AWD vehicles like mine. Thank you for your attention to this matterRead more

I am submitting a safety complaint regarding the rear visibility system on my Tesla Cybertruck. The physical rear view mirror does not provide any usable visibility of the roadway behind the vehicle. The design of the rear window and cargo area blocks the view, which makes the mirror ineffective for its intended safety function. Because the physical mirror cannot be used, the driver must rely on
... the rear camera feed displayed on the center screen. This is the only way to see directly behind the vehicle during normal driving. However, the rear camera feed disappears every time the turn signal indicators are activated. When the indicators turn on, the screen automatically replaces the rear view with the side camera view. This removes all rear visibility at the exact moment when the driver needs full awareness for lane changes, merging, and turning. This behavior cannot be disabled or overridden. It is part of the default software design. As a result, the driver is left without any functional rear visibility method during critical maneuvers. This creates a clear safety risk and raises concerns regarding compliance with FMVSS 111, which requires reliable rear visibility. The loss of rear visibility during lane changes and turns increases the risk of collisions with vehicles approaching from behind. Since the physical mirror is unusable and the digital feed is removed by the software, the driver has no safe or compliant way to monitor rear traffic during these maneuvers. I request that NHTSA investigate this issue and require Tesla to provide a remedy. A potential remedy would include keeping the rear camera feed visible at all times unless the driver manually chooses to remove it, or adding a dedicated rear view camera feed that remains active during all driving conditions.Read more

This is the opposite of a complaint. Somebody may have already submitted a blurb about their Tesla Y traveling on a highway with the speed limit of 60 giving an extra foot of room to a motorcyclist that was passing their vehicle. This happened to me today for the first time while I was in full self driving mode . My car was aware of the motorcyclist wanting to pass me and the car in the next lane.
... Sensing this it moved over about a foot in my lane to allow the motorcycle passage more room. A few minutes later, it did it again for a different motorcyclist. It did this all while in full self driving mode. Kudos to this safety technology. Read more

The steering system failed while driving down the highway on two different ocassions. I got a warning message saying the driver att warning sys had malfunctioned (it wasn't on a the time) then after that message disappeared, I had a red light in the "steering column" symbol in the dash. ... at all but worse. If in a turn, it would want to stay in a turn and it would fight you to get it back to center coming out of the turns. I was able to get off the highway and nurse it to a parking lot. I checked the power steering fluid (thinking it might have leaked out), but it was there. Upon initial restart of the car the same messages and failure reappeared. However, after approximately 1 hr, I restarted the car and everything worked as normal. About 10 mins into the drive home, the same warning and cautions were displayed and the steering completely failed while driving. I was able to nurse the car to the nearest Hyundai dealership (RedMcCombs Hyundai Northwest in San Antonio, TX) and it has been there since 8 May with no resolution as they are awaiting approval from Hyundai to order a completely new steering rack assembly. However, the dealer noted that they had another Veloster N with ~60,000 miles come in for the same issue multiple times. My car's steering failed at ~41,000 miles. When I looked online, looks like many other Veloster N owners have suffered the same failure at random mileage. When I asked the dealership why the delay in the repairs, they stated that Hyundai might be considering a recall or providing a specific fix and that is why my car's repair approval has been delayed. He stated in the previous case, the repair approval was done after only a few days. My main concern is that they do not know what is actually wrong, and will just replace all steering rack system components without inspecting for actual faulty parts from the manufacturer or vendorRead more

On [XXX] ~[XXX] PM, at highway speed on [XXX] eastbound near Frisco, CO (a mountain interstate), returning to Denver from Salt Lake City, my 2021 Subaru Crosstrek suddenly and without warning dropped into reduced-power limp mode and began lurching and shaking while the engine kept running. I lost the ability to accelerate or maintain speed. At the same moment the check engine light came on and mul
... tiple active safety systems automatically disabled: EyeSight, pre-collision braking, vehicle dynamics (traction/stability) control, and hill start assist. It took about two minutes to manage the lurching, power-limited vehicle across multiple lanes of traffic to reach the shoulder. My partner was in the vehicle. Had this happened on a bridge, a grade without a shoulder, a tunnel approach, or in heavier traffic, I believe a collision was a realistic outcome. The vehicle was towed to a Subaru dealer and diagnosed with a failed Thermo Control Valve. Sixteen trouble codes were stored, including P26A6, P0606, P060B, P2138, P2135, P2122, P2119, P2004, P2005, and P0191. Mileage was 49,983. There was no prior symptom. The vehicle had a full multi-point inspection at the same dealer only 11 days and ~1,400 miles earlier ([XXX]); nothing was flagged. This failure mode is already known to Subaru, addressed by Technical Service Bulletin 09-119-24 and a warranty extension to 15 years/150,000 miles; the dealer repair order confirms the TSB. I am concerned Subaru handles a safety-relevant failure, one that disables collision-avoidance systems at highway speed, through a quiet warranty extension rather than a recall or owner notification. Owners get no warning and discover it only when it fails dangerously. I request NHTSA open a formal safety defect investigation.
I was accelerating to onto the freeway to merge and my engine suddenly made a loud noise and my vehicle immediately lost power and the dashboard alert lights began going off to service engine. I was able to get to the edge of the highway and make it to the next exit to slowly make my way back to my office to have my vehicle towed to a garage. Luckily I had not fully merged into traffic when my v
... ehicle suddenly slowed. There was heavy semi-truck traffic which they would not have been able to avoid rear ending me. The garage confirmed that a cylinder blew causing the drastic drop in power and speed. It has since been towed to the dealership to have their service team diagnose the issue after my usual independent mechanic had found the problem.Read more
