I was told it was not a safety issue and it was okay to continue driving. That is far from the truth. There were NO warning lights displayed on the dash. Driving 70mph on the interested, the vehicle put itself in neutral. I pulled over and turned off the engine. I started it back up then it stalled at the next stop light. It would not turn back on. It had to be towed to the dealership. Turns out it was the 6.2 engine recall issue. It has been in the shop for 5 weeks and still waiting on repair parts.

The vehicle’s hazard flashers activate randomly and repeatedly without warning, even when the vehicle is completely off and pa

This issue appears to originate from a failed or malfunctioning FCIM module, despite the vehicle not being abused, modified, or involved in any event that would reasonably cause this failure. This defect creates multiple safety concerns, including: - Unexpected flashing while driving - Battery drain while parked - Driver distraction - Potential confusion for surrounding traffic - Loss of confidence in the vehicle’s electrical system After researching this issue, I discovered that many other Ford Edge owners have reported nearly identical FCIM-related failures, suggesting this may be a widespread defect rather than normal wear and tear. I am extremely disappointed that owners are being forced to pay significant repair costs for what appears to be a recurring design or manufacturing problem. Electronic control modules should not fail under ordinary use conditions in a manner that compromises vehicle safety functions. I respectfully request that Ford: - Investigate this recurring FCIM failure issue, - Offer goodwill repair assistance or reimbursement, - Consider issuing a technical service campaign or recall if appropriate, - And acknowledge the safety risks associated with malfunctioning hazard systems. ... lly invisible. The failure has worsened over time and now includes audible relay clicking near the center console and failed remote-start commands. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by an authorized Ford dealer. After multiple prior visits where the dealer could not reproduce the fault, the dealer verified the concern and connected a scan tool, finding that all modules on the HS1-CAN communication bus stopped communicating. The dealer checked technical service bulletins, performed pinpoint tests, and verified connector pin fitment. The dealer's diagnosis is a failed Gateway Module, with replacement recommended. The vehicle remains available for inspection. Warning symptoms preceding the failures include the dashboard going dark, electronics resetting, fault codes appearing on restart, and remote start malfunctioning. This is a serious safety risk: loss of the instrument cluster, lighting, and electrical systems while driving, particularly at highway speed and at night, eliminates the driver's ability to monitor speed and warning indicators and can result in loss of visibility. This failure pattern is widely reported by owners of this model and appears consistent with Gateway Module defects addressed by recall on newer model-year Fusion vehicles.Read more

My 2020 Ford Explorer XLT sustained a major transmission failure at 94,574 miles without any warning lights. On a 200 mile trip home from Long Island NY to New Jersey the car began to jerk when changing from highway speed to a complete stop due to traffic. As we slowed down the jerking was more pronounce. When reaccelerating the car again jerked forward and at sporadic times did not respond.

We made it through the mile long midtown tunnel and to [XXX] were a red light turned green and as i stepped on the gas the engine reved up and the car just rolled into the intersection as i stepped on the gas a second time again the car just jerked and rolled luckily i rolled through the cross walk into a empty spot due to a fire hydrant. Backed up traffic was able to pass and my car was done. I needed to put my family in a Uber for the last 60 miles home at 250.00 dollars on a Saturday night. while i waited for a tow truck back to the Ford dealership. Thankyou AAA! After a diagnostic inspection i needed a new transmission. It took the dealer one month to repair and the cost was 8,500.00 dollars. This issue is consistent with this Ford transmission system. There is a severe safety risk with sudden loss of acceleration and erratic shifting and jerking when braking and no warning lights. This is a clear safety risk that could lead to a crash. There is enough complaints on this site to warrant am investigation for a potential recall due to safety !! My 2022 MDX purchased new in 2021 experienced an unexpected loss of AWD functionality at 5 years old with 77000 miles when the splines of the transfer case sheared with the transmission. There have been numerous times when I am attempting to accelerate from a stop while turning onto a busy road where the unexpected loss in traction resulted in me nearly causing an accident. I took in my vehicle for service on 5/22/26 and they confirmed the issue is the transfer case spline failure as noted by many other Acura SH-AWD vehicles with the active NHTSA investigation. I would like to add my complaint to that filing and highlight the insidious danger that comes with the failure when the vehicle suddenly does not perform as expected. Given that my vehicle was barely behind the powertrain warranty period when the failure occured, I am now expected to cover an enormous bill that covers the replacement of the transmission and transfer case.Read more

After researching online consumer reports and owner complaints, I found that ignition coil failures appear to be a common and recurring issue reported by other 2017 Hyundai Elantra Limited owners. Based on these repeated failures and similar reports, this appears to be a known issue affecting this model. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? I have reported this issue to Hyundai multiple times. Rather than addressing the root cause or issuing a recall for this recurring defect, Hyundai has repeatedly provided credits to assist with repair costs when the ignition coil fails. Despite the repeated failures and safety concerns, the underlying issue has not been permanently resolved. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Prior to failure, the vehicle would experience rough starts, engine misfires, and poor performance. After these symptoms began, the check engine light would eventually illuminate. I proceeded to contact GM roadside assistance. They sent a tow truck and I had to make arrangements for my family to return home, an hour away. I made it to the dealership with the tow truck driver after 9 p.m. ***CATASTROPHIC DAMAGE**" After the dealership inspected close to a week later they did determine that the entire engine and turbocharger had to be replaced, which they did in a little over a month, the dealership did their part but confidence is lost. Recall 24S51 from Ford says that 87,000 Maverick trucks have had the wiper motor fail due to moisture getting into the housing due to a sealant problem with the supplier. Thankfully the rain wasn't so heavy that I had to stop and could continue driving home (very carefully!). We've had a very dry winter, so I haven't used my wipers in months. The prior week before the failure, we had a big snow/rain storm spanning two days with about 1.5" of moisture coming down. Hence, I think this storm precipitated, literally, my issue. I took my Maverick to the Ford dealership for a hitch recall, asking about this wiper motor recall problem at the same time. I picked up my truck today and after it's been sitting in the sun, my wipers work again. It sure seems that when moisture is getting into the housing, the wipers fail, then the sun dries it out, then the wipers work. Note, my truck is not garaged. I believe my VIN should be part of the 24S51 or 24-594 recall. Since in my almost 60 years of driving, I've never had a failure of a windshield wiper motor in this way, it seems to be a very rare thing to occur. The vehicle has an intermittent loss of power/hesitation during acceleration. The issue has occurred multiple times since the vehicle was purchased new and is still occurring at approximately 42,000 miles while under warranty. When accelerating from a stop or low speed, the vehicle sometimes has little to no power, feels like it stalls or fails to respond, and then suddenly kicks in and takes off.

The issue occurred again on May 22, 2026, at approximately 3:00 PM while leaving a grocery store parking lot. The dash camera footage exists, but the hesitation is difficult to see clearly on video. There were no known warning lights or messages displayed at the time. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The issue has been reported to the dealership multiple times during service visits. The dealership has stated that the condition is part of the hybrid system/normal operation, but the concern has not been repaired or resolved. When passing large vehicles where wind changes direction, the car sometimes gets pushed left and right which sometimes triggers an alarm and shows an on screen message saying to take control of steering.
