Component/system: Rear tires — traction and wet-weather grip performance. Tires are available for inspection upon request. Tire size: 265/70R16 Four BFGoodrich Trail-Terrain T/A 265/70R16 112T all-season tires were purchased new and professionally installed at a retail warehouse tire center in August 2025. The vehicle is a 2022 Toyota Tacoma. Approximately nine months after installation, both re
... ar tires began exhibiting severely degraded traction during heavy rain conditions on paved roads. On at least one occasion, the rear of the vehicle broke loose during a normal turn at low to moderate speed in heavy rain, resulting in a near-loss-of-vehicle-control incident. The front tires, from the same set and installation, did not exhibit the same level of traction loss during the same conditions, suggesting the failure is concentrated in the rear axle tires. Safety risk: The rear tire traction failure created a sudden and unexpected vehicle handling instability on a public road. The near-loss-of-vehicle-control incident posed a direct risk of collision to the driver and other road users. Dealer/service confirmation: The problem has not yet been confirmed by a dealer or service center — a tire center inspection appointment is scheduled. Results will be available following that appointment. Manufacturer/police/insurance inspection: The vehicle and tires have not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. Warning symptoms prior to failure: No warning lamps, messages, or audible warnings appeared prior to or during the traction loss event. The failure occurred without any prior indication of a problem. Tread wear appeared visually normal at the time of the incident. Assessment: The BFGoodrich Trail-Terrain T/A is marketed and sold as an all-season tire suitable for wet road conditions. The tire's performance in heavy rain is inconsistent with that representation and appears to constitute a safety defect. Multiple independent tire testing souRead more

Good evening, I want to formally document what happened today regarding my GMC Sierra after I brought it to the dealership on Friday morning for transmission concerns that I had already reported. At that visit, the vehicle was inspected, and I was informed that the truck was still safe to drive while waiting for the extended warranty approval for the replacement parts that were needed. Unfortunat
... ely, today my family and I experienced a very serious and frightening incident on the expressway. While driving, the truck suddenly lost power, barely moved forward, and began shaking violently. We were placed in a very dangerous situation in traffic and struggled with great difficulty and fear just to make it home safely. Once we arrived home, the vehicle completely shut off and would not restart again. This situation was extremely alarming, especially because I had already reported the transmission problems and trusted the guidance given to me that the vehicle was still drivable. My family’s safety was put at risk, and I need this matter to be treated with urgency and seriousness. Please advise immediately on the next steps regarding the vehicle, towing assistance if necessary, and how this situation will be properly addressed. Thank you.Read more

I put the car in reverse and released the parking brake. The car started to move backwards. However, the back passenger door was wide open, and the passenger was standing outside the car in the path of the open door. The door hit a guide wire running from the top of a power pole to the sidewalk beside the car. The wire pulled the door backwards, destroying it. This was fortunate. Without the wire
... in the way, I would’ve had not heard the crashing of the door and would have continued to drive over the person standing beside the car as the passenger door knocked him down. The indicator that the door was still open is so small on the gauge cluster that I couldn’t see that the door was still open when I put the car into reverse. There was no audible warning that I was about to move before all doors were closed, and the emergency braking didn’t stop the car from moving. The passenger’s leg got pushed sideways under the open door. Had the guidewire not pulled the door backwards and caused so much noise that I stopped, the door would’ve broken the passenger’s leg and potentially pushed him under the rear passenger side tire.Read more

My Jeep develops a "death wobble" whenever the vehicle goes over a bridge junction or bump at highway speeds. When my husband personally witnessed the problem and went in to complain, the dealer replaced a rear shock absorber, but the problem persists. The Jeep shakes and vibrates violently and unc
... ontrollably and the problem has become more frequent and more violent. I have to come to an almost complete stop to relieve the wobble/vibration, which is very dangerous on a highway! It happened twice today, Saturday, May 23, 2026, on the highway when I went over bridges at 65 - 70 mph. The issues has been persistent since the vehicle reached approx. 5000 miles. I feel unsafe driving my Jeep on the highway. I know that it has been a problem that was covered under an previous agreement/recall for Jeeps through 2020. manufacturing year. However, since my Jeep is a 2023, I do not believe the extended warranty applies to my vehicle. I am a teacher and I can't afford to pay for repairs, which may run thousands of dollars. Also, I feel my vehicle is unsafe to drive on the highway, which precludes me from driving to my job on the highway. Please advise!Read more

We were traveling to our son’s college graduation, driving on a rural interstate and suddenly all of the vehicle’s warning lights lit on the dash and the car started losing, and then completely lost power. This was an incredibly dangerous situation and we were fortunate to be alongside the shoulder, although we were still close to the tractor trailers and cars on the interstate. (Because we were stranded in such a remote place, we had no other options to get to our son’s graduation. We were unable to attend because of this.) The rural repair shop the car was initially towed to could not determine the problem. A few days later we found a 2nd tow truck that agreed to bring the vehicle several hundreds of miles back to our home city. This car is a 2020 model, and has around 55,000 miles. It has been meticulously maintained by a certified Mercedes mechanic. There were no issues with the car and no indication that there might be a problem. Our mechanic has thoroughly inspected the vehicle and said that the engine has completely seized and the only option is to replace it. We have no idea why this happened. If requested, the vehicle is available for inspection.Read more

The issue involves the second and third-row power folding seat control system in my 2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Hybrid following Recall 296. Before the recall update, the vehicle included driver-controlled power folding seat functions through infotainment screen controls and one-touch seat folding operation. After Recall 296 was performed, Hyundai disabled or significantly altered these fun
... ctions due to safety/compliance concerns involving the seat folding system. The affected component is available for inspection upon request. The vehicle has already been inspected and updated by Hyundai under the recall process. My concern is that the recall confirms there was a safety-related issue involving the power folding seat mechanism and occupant protection. While Hyundai modified the system to address safety concerns, I believe NHTSA should continue monitoring whether the revised operation fully resolves the underlying safety risks and whether similar concerns may affect additional vehicles or model years. There was no crash, injury, or fire in my case. No warning lamps or error messages appeared before the recall update. The operational changes became noticeable after the recall remedy/software update was completed. The issue has been confirmed by Hyundai through Recall 296 and Hyundai Motor America’s response regarding the intentional operational changes made to the vehicle.Read more

At 116 miles, the engine blew and I was informed it would need to be replaced. I purchased a used engine from the same year of vehicle because Kia said it would not be covered since the vehicle had passed the 100,000 mile mark. I spend over $5,000 to get this engine and have it installed by a licensed mechanic. This second engine has now also blown leaving me without a vehicle as a single mom with
... a child who has a medical disability. Kia does not have a recall on this engine, which is clearly faulty. There is no way for me to come up with the funds to replace this engine for a second time and is something that should not even have to have to be figured out. I have been in touch with multiple mechanics who say the only way to repair is to replace as it would cost way more to try to rebuild. Kia should stand behind this as they know it is an issue.Read more

Upon a google search it appears there is a lawsuit in Michigan over this because it is clearly a problem and a dangerous one at that. While driving, the engine started to shutter and run rough. Pulled over to check and see if everything was ok. When restarting engine it developed a ticking noise which got worse and worse. We then made an appointment at a transmission specialist to get it serviced. While driving there the engine started experiencing engine failure with loss of power and loud ticking noise. I bought my Tiffin Open Trail in Nov. 2025. The vehicle pitched, rolled and swayed so badly it could be hard to control going over a speed bump. I decided to upgrade the suspension. I went to Owl Vans in Austin, Texas on March 9, 2026. I stayed a hotel while the work was performed. I received a phone call from Owl the night of March 9th, because they found the inside dually tire had been rubbing o
... n the frame underneath the entire time, with tire failure immenint. This is a 12k pound vehicle. I contacted Tiffin who really seemed unconcerned. Owl provided me with a new tire and informed me that they were upfitting many (25) Open Trails by Tiffin and they had found the vehicle too heavy for the stock Mercedes 3500XD suspension. They informed Tiffin of their concerns. Because I upgraded the suspension significantly it resolved my issue. HOWEVER, I contacted friends who had recently purchased an Open Trail with stock suspension and shared my findings and concern. They had their Open Trail inspected and ALSO found the leaf springs flat and the rear tire rubbing with imminent failure expected. I spent $12k making my vehicle SAFE. If the tire would have blown at 70 mph, losing control of a 12k pound vehicle would have been catastrophic, not only me but anyone else near me. I travel extensively in my Open Trai and so do others.Read more

While driving at normal highway speeds, I got a warning light for engine overheat condition and cooling fans came on. I also got a warning that the engine would go to reduced power. I reported this issue to my local GMC dealer. Was told that this was a comm problem with this engine however: my vin number indicated that this vehicle was not covered under warranty N252508341. I was advised to br

Vehicle has excessive oil consumption defect acknowledged in Kia TSB ENG222. Repeated catalytic converter failures indicate potential overheating risk similar to 2019 Gamma engine recall for fire hazard. Engine burning oil creates risk of critically low oil levels leading to engine failure/stalling while driving. Multiple emission system failures (oil consumption, catalytic converter) suggest unsa
... fe vehicle condition. Vehicle failed Kia’s own oil consumption tests in December 2023 and March 2024. Kia dealership recommended engine replacement per TSB ENG222 in March 2024. Kia denied coverage citing “second owner, out of warranty” despite defect clearly existing at time of purchase and being acknowledged in their TSB. Vehicle now showing catalytic converter failure code again (14-month-old converter failing). Kia refuses to remedy despite documented defect.Read more

I took my vehicle into the dealership. Almost three weeks ago for a recall on the front end, a steering component. And send a vehicle is done. I picked up the vehicle yesterday and it is not fixed. The problem still

At 11:45 AM, a Waymo AV stopped in the middle northbound lane at the Kierland Commons/Scottsdale Quarter signaled pedestrian crosswalk. The stop signal was not on. Pedestrians were standing on the sidewalk waiting for the signal to turn so they could cross Scottsdale Road. I assume the Waymo AV saw the pedestrians standing on the sidewalk and decided to stop. I was directly behind the Waymo AV. Tr
... affic was passing us in both lanes. The Waymo AV remained stopped until the pedestrian signal came on and did not move forward until after the signal turned off. Fortunately, vehicles behind me were paying attention and did not rear-end anybody. The main issue involves a Waymo AV coming to a stop when it sees pedestrians waiting to cross the street, rather than paying attention to the pedestrian signal light, which is a blinking red light over each lane when triggered by a pedestrian that turns solid red, allowing pedestrians to cross the street. I have provided this information to Waymo LLC and they have responded that they are looking into why this Waymo AV stopped when it should not have stopped.Read more

Vehicle: 2018 Honda Accord On [XXX], at approximately [XXX] PM, I was driving on [XXX] [XXX] at approximately 35 mph. The weather was clear and the road was dry. A vehicle ahead of me began turning into [XXX] N. My vehicle’s Collision Mitigation Braking System / automatic emergency braking system activated suddenly. The system made an audible warning sound, displayed a warning icon, and app
... lied braking even though I did not believe there was a crash-imminent situation. There were vehicles behind me at the time, so the unexpected braking created a potential rear-end collision risk. The braking event also caused back pain, and I later experienced some stomach discomfort. I am concerned this was a false activation of the automatic emergency braking / Collision Mitigation Braking System. I am also concerned because the system reactivates after the vehicle is restarted, meaning I cannot reliably prevent another unexpected braking event from occurring. I am requesting that this be documented as a vehicle safety concern involving possible false activation of the automatic emergency braking system.
