Car’s sunroof exploded while driving, was going about 55 on the highway and I heard a loud pop followed by the sound of breaking glass which I found to be my whole sunroof exploding from the inside out. The first malfunction occurred on 08/25/2025, only days after purchase, and the vehicle has experienced repeated safety-related issues since then. The vehicle has repeatedly displayed false Forward Collision Warning alerts, Blind Spot Warning failures, Park/Neutral errors, and intermittent disabling of safety features. The most serio
... us incident occurred when the vehicle unexpectedly entered “Limit 20 MPH” mode while I was pulling into active traffic with my toddler in the vehicle, limiting acceleration and creating a safety risk. I have also experienced false collision alerts while parked and after the vehicle was shut off. The vehicle has been taken to the dealership multiple times for diagnosis and repair attempts. Some issues were duplicated by dealership personnel, while other visits were documented as “could not duplicate.” A front ultrasonic sensor was replaced, but the vehicle continued experiencing safety-related concerns afterward. During the repair process, I was informed and observed that dealership personnel appeared limited in what repair actions could be taken after consulting Hyundai through their diagnostic system. I was also informed that Hyundai influenced what could be included on service reports and that dealership personnel were instructed to “print the book” rather than fully document observed concerns. I believe this may have affected repair efforts and documentation of ongoing issues. The vehicle has been out of service for extended periods and the issues continue despite repeated repair attempts. Due to the ongoing malfunctions and inconsistent operation of the safety systems, I no longer feel safe driving the vehicle because I am concerned it may not function properly during a real emergency situation. Attached are photos of various dashboard errors and warning messages that occurred during these incidents to document the alerts and malfunctions experienced.Read more

The rearview camera system on my vehicle intermittently and unpredictably malfunctions when shifted into reverse. Instead of displaying the live rear camera feed, the infotainment screen abruptly turns entirely green or blue, completely obscuring the rearward view. Component that failed: The rearview camera system and/or the main infotainment display module. The components are currently on the ve
... hicle and available for inspection upon request. Safety risk: This failure severely compromises safety by eliminating critical rear visibility while backing up. The sudden loss of the camera feed creates a significant blind spot, increasing the risk of backing into a pedestrian, a moving object, or another vehicle, especially in busy parking lots or residential driveways. Dealer confirmation: Yes, this is a persistent defect that has been reproduced, confirmed, and documented by an authorized dealership service center during multiple service visits. Despite the dealer and the manufacturer being informed of this defect over two months ago, neither has been able to successfully repair the vehicle or provide a permanent fix. Inspected by others: The vehicle and the malfunctioning components have been inspected by the manufacturer’s authorized dealer technicians during multiple attempts to diagnose and repair the ongoing issue. Warning lamps/symptoms: There are no warning lamps, check engine lights, or error messages on the dashboard prior to or during the failure. The sole symptom is the immediate and spontaneous green or blue screen takeover on the center display precisely when the vehicle engages the reverse gear.Read more

The component that failed/malfunctioned was the module that activates the EPB. It is available for inspection if requested. My safety was put at risk because the parking brake would engage every time the vehicle shut off leaving me stranded and could put other drivers at risk if my vehicle was stranded on the roadway. It would sometimes reset if the battery was disconnected and then reconnected,
... but eventually trying to reset it did not work. Within a week, the actuators completely seized and the vehicle was inoperable, requiring to be towed. The problem was confirmed by a Jeep dealership service center. They noted that water was leaking into the vehicle from the outside and pooling. The inside rear cargo carpets are moldy and need to be replaced and the module is completely water damaged along with other electrical components being rusted and corroded. The issue has been identified by a certified mechanic at the service center. I had planned to reach out to my auto insurance provider to file a claim, but was informed of an active recall on 2014-2020 Jeep Cherokees with similar symptoms to what I am experiencing. No warning lamps or messages were active prior to the failure. Both "Service Parking Brake" along with the red "brake" light were active to let me know my EPB was engaged. I was able to reset the message briefly to unlock the brakes by disconnecting the battery, but was only successful once. Then it needed to be towed to the dealership for further inspection.Read more

The "my sky" sunroof on this vehicle will open but not close. It has been a problem since the vehicle was purchased in 2018. It has been in and out of Central Avenue Chrysler Jeep for repairs. There are two cases with Jeep customer care. The sunroof was supposedly repaired in Octover 2024 but it still never operates properly. Now the sunroof is frozen in the open position. Even the dealershi
... p cannot get it to close. This is a safety hazard - I don't know if parts will fly off while driving and it's danagerous to drive a car with an open sunroof in rainy or stormy weather conditions, which are common in New York. If you check online, there are many people reporting similar problems with this particular sunroof.Read more

While driving our BMW 2019 X3 on the highway, other drivers honked to get my attention that our vehicle's rear hatch was partially open. When we came to a stop light, I had my son riding in the passenger seat press the hatch button on the key fob to close the hatch. Instead this fully opened the back hatch. We continued pressing the fob button in an attempt to get the hatch to close without hav
... ing to exit the vehicle. Rather than exit the vechicle in the middle of the roadway, we drove about 50 yards until we could pull over safely. A motorcyclist had been following us, and came up behind and communicated that he wanted to press the button to close the hatch. After I gave my consent, he pressed the close button and the hatch closed and latched. My husband has previously had incidents where after parking the BMW, he finds the back hatch open. He's also researched online this is apparently an issue. Reference: [XXX] NHTSA claim XXX INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

The sunroof wind deflector broke and as a result the sunroof was jammed open. In order to close the top I had to break the mechanism and now the sunroof, while mostly shut, still shifts free occasionally when driving.
