I have a 2024 Hybrid Toyota Tundra which shares the same engine that has undergone a NHTSA recall. I am submitting this complaint regarding a serious and dangerous brake failure involving my 2020 GMC Terrain SLT with approximately 150,000 miles. While driving, the vehicle suddenly experienced a vacuum pump failure that caused a severe loss of braking ability with no warning beforehand. The brake pedal became extremely hard, and the vehicle would barely stop. This created a very dangerous situa
... tion and could have easily resulted in a serious accident. Thankfully, I was not driving at a high speed when the failure occurred, and there were no vehicles directly in front of me at the time. However, only minutes earlier I had been traveling approximately 65–70 mph on the highway. If this brake failure had occurred while driving at highway speeds or in heavy traffic, I truly believe it could have caused a major crash resulting in serious injury or death. What concerns me most is that there was no warning before the brakes failed. No warning lights and no issues with my brakes. The sudden loss of braking power was extremely frightening and created an immediate safety hazard. After researching this issue, I discovered that other GMC and GM vehicle owners have reported similar vacuum pump failures and brake assist problems. I believe this is a significant safety issue that should be investigated further. Drivers should not experience sudden brake failure without warning, especially on a vehicle that otherwise appeared to be operating normally beforehand. I am very thankful no one was injured in my situation, but I am concerned that another driver may not be as fortunate. My vehicle had to be towed to a nearby shop and they suspected it was the vacuum pump failure and the car started smoking badly. so I had it towed to the GMC dealership and they called me today to confirm that was the problem and it also caused damage to the camshaft. This is a known issue with the terrain and there is currently a class action lawsuit.Read more

I went to have my car make/model Dodge Charger serviced and when I went to the dealership I told them the problem before they even got to look at it, because it’s a known problem with Dodge Charger SRT models. Stellantis hasn't put a recall out on the part called Mopar Exhaust Valve Actuator - Mopar (68505881AA). There is a detachable spring that can break over time and its a known common proble
... m. The dealership told me that they can't just order the spring like they use to and customers have to buy the entire part which they told me is $700 and $100 to install it. We should be able to order just the spring which is detachable and not the entire part which is not the issue for my car. There should be a recall put out from Stellantis about this known common issue. I've called Stellantis and they said on the phone that they’ve created a case and that was it. I truly believe Stellantis is running a scam and just trying to rake in more money and having customers order $700 parts when they may just need a $30 spring replaced. This rattling noise with the active exhaust for SRT Dodge Chargers is a very common issue and can easily be searched online, but no recalls or warnings have been put out from Stellantis about it. I could see if the spring was not detachable. Its detachable, because it’s designed to be replaced. There are no warning lamps for my car and this issue can increase air pollution.Read more

NHTSA RECALL #25V-586 Around September of 2025, I notified Alfa Romeo Customer service that my vehicle was experiencing symptoms of this recall. Symptoms include but are not limited to severe fuel pump whine that fluctuates with RPM, as well as intermittent LOMP. The whine is audible 100% of the time. The LOMP occurs intermittently, primarily shortly after starting the vehicle. On multiple occasio
... ns, I have to pull my vehicle to the side of the road because it is unable to effectively move under it's own power. Along with this LOMP, symptoms experienced are a heavy misfire along with a few service messages such as "Auto start unavailable, service electronic throttle, and service engine" along with a flashing check engine light. The fix appears to be power cycling the battery so that the fuel pump primes multiple times. I have called Alfa Romeo multiple times about this issue over the last few months, but all they tell me is that they cannot do anything until a remedy is available. Unfortunately, given the wait, symptoms have progressively gotten worse.Read more

This Forte was not neglected and it was not abused. Nearly 90% of its miles came from highway commuting and interstate travel. It was completely stock, never modified, never driven hard. More importantly, it received fully synthetic oil changes every 3k-4k miles since new, well ahead of what Kia or the oil manufacturer even recommends, because I intended to keep this car long term. All of that is
... verifiable through Carfax. The engine failure came without meaningful warning. While driving, I noticed an unusual noise and pulled over as quickly as safely possible. I checked the dash expecting some kind of indicator and found nothing. No check engine light, no oil pressure warning. A nearby mechanic found the engine more than 2.5 quarts low on oil despite the vehicle being only about 3,300 miles into a fresh synthetic oil change. There were no external leaks. No oil spots at home, none at work. Nothing to explain where that oil went. After topping it off, the noise briefly stopped. With no warning lights on and the noise stopped, I thought we had caught it in time. I even felt confident enough to also have the mechanic change the transmission fluid as it was about due again. However, a few miles later, the engine suffered complete failure. Violent shaking, severe knock, then the check engine light came on. I shut it down immediately and pushed it home. Once home, I checked the oil again and found it had unusually darkened in an extremely short period of time. The vehicle has not been driven since and is currently inoperable. What troubles me most, beyond the financial loss, is that this vehicle gave me no real opportunity to save it. The oil pressure warning light never illuminated. More than two quarts of oil vanished within a single service interval with no external source and no indication whatsoever, even with checking the level periodically. I went above and beyond in maintaining this vehicle and still lost the engine. This could have been a catastrophe on the roadRead more

I started to pull forward from a pharmacy drive-through at an intended low speed (approximately10/15 mph) for a right turn onto a driveway. The car was on auto-hold and in drive gear. When I turned right, the vehicle went into a full throttle acceleration and continued until impact. Brakes were totally ineffective. A TWO-LINE BRIGHT YELLOW MESSAGE FLASHED IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, "TRANS
... MISSION MALFUNCTION". There was no automatic braking or forward collision function. I made a hard left turn in about 40 feet to avoid a shopping center parking lot. The vehicle continued until colliding with a concrete filled bollard and an automotive electric charging station. The vehicle charging at this station was also struck. My vehicle fell back, landing on its right side. The driver's airbag and both side curtains deployed. I was left suspended in the seat belt until the Fire Department, Emergency Services and the Highway Patrol arrived. A Jaws of Life was used to open the sunroof and extract me. I was transported by ambulance to an emergency treatment center. I was examined there and imaging done. I sustained a ruptured tendon in the middle right finger (permanent damage) and sagittal band ruptures in two fingers on that hand. There were numerous scrapes and bruises on the left thigh, both forearms and hands as well as minor cuts on my forehead. Incident date: Mar 5, 2026
On May 16, 2026, my 2023 Ford Expedition with 6,197 miles caught fire while I was driving home from work. I smelled smoke inside the cabin, and within moments smoke began coming through the air vents. I pulled over and exited the vehicle. When I got out, I saw the engine compartment was on fire and heavy smoke was coming from under the hood. As I moved away from the vehicle, there were multiple l
... oud pops and bangs coming from the engine area. Police and fire crews responded and extinguished the fire, but the vehicle is a total loss. This was a nearly new vehicle with very low mileage. I believe this was caused by a manufacturing defect. Ford previously settled a class‑action lawsuit involving 2021 Expeditions with engine fire issues, which suggests this problem has not been fully resolved. I am reporting this incident because it is a serious safety hazard and could have resulted in injury or death.Read more
