Incident Narrative

An employee was moving a crane at a customer's site to inspect it. Steel coil weighing approximately 40,000 pounds was still in the lifting device attached to the overhead crane. The employee attempted to remove the coil and it moved towards him, pinning him at the right shoulder. He broke his collarbone, arm, and right ribs, and also potentially suffered internal bleeding.
