The contact owns a 2023 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at 70 MPH, there was an abnormal sound coming from inside the vehicle. The contact stated that the sunroof had shattered. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, no cause for the failure was found. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000.

Subject: Complaint Regarding Steering Noise Issue on 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid Dear Honda Customer Service, I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding the steering issue on my 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid, purchased in June 2023. •In July 2024, when my vehicle had around 29,540 miles, I first reported a steering noise issue to the dealership. At that time, the dealer only applied lubrication, which did not resolve the root cause. •In July 2025, when the mileage was around 60,440 miles, the same steering noise reappeared. The dealership replaced the right inner tie rod and performed an alignment, but the noise persisted. Later, they concluded that the steering rack would eventually need replacement. •I also noticed that this issue only occurs in extremely hot weather (high summer temperatures around 90°F). Once the temperature drops to around 70–80°F, the noise disappears completely. Because of this seasonal nature, the problem is very hard to reproduce during normal conditions, and it was not fully diagnosed while the car was still under warranty. Now, Honda has denied goodwill repair, stating that the vehicle has exceeded 60,000 miles. However, I strongly believe this problem started during the warranty period (July 2024) and was not properly resolved by the dealer, despite multiple visits. The issue is clearly related to a defect that only appears in extreme temperatures, which is beyond my control as a customer. This is extremely disappointing, as I have always trusted Honda’s reputation for quality and reliability. A steering problem is a serious safety concern, and denying repair based solely on mileage—when the defect clearly originated under warranty—feels unfair and unprofessional. I am requesting that Honda reconsider this case and provide goodwill repair coverage for the steering rack replacement. Component/System that failed or malfunctioned: Power Train: automatic transmission internal (CVT). The vehicle stops responding to acceleration, remains static while the engine continues at high revolutions, without generating forward movement. The component is available for inspection upon request. How safety was put at risk: The incident occurred while driving on the highway. By losing acceleration power and not being able to maintain the required speed according to traffic laws, I was at risk of being struck by other vehicles traveling at normal highway speed. This situation posed an immediate danger to both myself and other drivers. Problem reproduction/confirmation: The dealership inspected the vehicle and informed me that, at this time, there is no safety bulletin related to my unit. Inspection by third parties: I have scheduled an appointment with the dealership for September 5, 2025, where a more detailed evaluation of the problem is expected to be performed. I bought a Honda Accord Hybrid on June 15, 2023. The steering wheel made a noise in 2024. I repaired it once, but the problem of the steering wheel making a noise reappeared in June this year 2025. The steering wheel problem has always existed.
Drivers seat is loose. Dealership agreed seat is loose but other new cars at dealership have loose seats too so they decided it is expected. Seat isn't loose when car is off and seat is fully back. But when you start car and seat moves forward, the seat clicks back and forth when you drive when speeding up or slowing down. It seems there is play or something loose. I've had other hondas years ago and none of my cars, including my honda pilot do this. Dealership said i should wait till someone reports it and recall because if they swap out the seat they say it will have the same problem. this problem has been with the car since i bought it new. I've reported 2x to the dealership and they said there isn't anything they can do.
Lost all power and the warning light came on concerning brake system failure. The car came to a complete stop and would not accellerate, so had to shut down the system and restart in the middle of the road and luckily was able to drive home with only a brake light illuminated. I was driving on the highway yesterday when all of a sudden several errors flashed on my dashboard, and my gas pedal stopped working. When I pulled over, I noticed an error code that read: "Brake System Problem. Brake performance may be reduced". Not only did I lose all acceleration control, but the error codes tell me there are brake issues. After researching online it seems like many others have experienced this issue and some people found the issue was caused by a faulty Ignition Control Module.
The 12" infotainment screen flickers and turns off. The screen is most unresponsive. The screen never works with the headlights on. The screen flashes at night causing safety issues. Backup camera doesn't work. Multiple complaints found on redit regarding the same issue. I took to the dealer and they said I needed a replacement screen and it would cost $1200+. This is a practically new car.

The first time the dealer replaced a part and told me the problem was fixed. This time around the advisor said there's nothing they can do because they can't replicate the problem. It's very concerning because it can happen at any time anywhere at any speed.

Driving routine commute of 20 miles at Highway speeds on a clear weekday. The vehicle experienced ALL warning lights on dash and immediately went into limp mode. No power applied to the wheels when pressing the power pedal. Brought vehicle to the side of the road and powered off. Waited 30 secs to a minute and pressed Power and the only remaining error of "Brake System Problem" stayed up on the Driver display. Dropped vehicle off at the dealer, 3 miles from my job, to have them evaluate. After half a day the dealer stated "no problem found", "intermittent error". Now there is a known problem with late Honda vehicles with water intrusion into the tail lights and that in turn causes a short in the Braking system. I have noticed condensation in the tail light (Drivers side) but only a very small amount. Dealer stated they checked both tail lights and found no cracks or condensation. In my opinion my car falls into this category but dealer would not agree to a replacement assembly UNLESS they saw condensation in the tail lamp unit.
The contact owns a 2023 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while attempting to park the vehicle, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle independently accelerated. The contact veered to the left and struck a cement pole on the front driver side, where the vehicle came to a stop upon impact. The cement pole did not show signs of damage after the impact. The contact then parked the vehicle at the scene. No warning lights illuminated; however, the message “Initializing Driving” was displayed. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer; however, the dealer declined to repair the vehicle because the vehicle was out of warranty. The driver’s and passenger’s side air bags did not deploy. A Police report was not filed. There were no injuries sustained; however, the contact had a tight feeling in the right shoulder. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The Insurance company was contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a claim was submitted. The failure mileage was 45,606.

2023 honda accord sport Steering sticking when turning causing the vehicle to over correct. Noted this at honda service center during 1st oil change and subsequent visits. Nothing ever found. Now it makes a clicking noise. Took to service center and they think it's the steering rack. Have to take it back during a weekday for confirmation. Now I'm slightly outside the warranty for parts. Service center says it could cost $4,000 to fix. No lights indicating an issue. Why hasn't Honda issued a recall on the steering rack for 2023 honda accord hybrid like they did with other models having the same issue. Very very frustrating...

12/22/23: I was accelerating onto the highway when multiple error messages popped up on the screen related to brakes, emission system, power steering, and others. The car’s accelerator lost power and slowed to a stop on the side of the highway. The interior electronics didn’t lose power, and neither did power steering or power brakes to my knowledge. I restarted the car and the warning lights remained on, however the accelerator appeared to function normally. Honda was unable to diagnose or fix. 3/31/25: I was pulling out of a parking deck when the engine lost power (no throttle) at the same time that multiple error messages came on to the screen. I coasted into a parking spot (brakes appeared to work) and turned the car off. I turned it back on and all of the lights had turned off except a warning about the brakes and TPMS (I think). The engine appeared to work normally, and I immediately drove to the Southpoint Honda service center. 4/8/25: Recap from Honda: Your car had a couple issues, they're all related. The first thing you're complaining about the stalling condition that is a known issue. There's a software update that fixes that. So I got it in here to do the software update, but then I could not communicate to the vehicle. The can Gateway module was unresponsive, which the car will run fine without it. But then, I can't talk to the car. So after testing everything and finding the module to have failed, I replaced the can Gateway this morning. Everything's communicating fine and software is updating right now for the module. Then I'm going to update the pgmfi software for the ICM system to correct the communication loss within the network that causes the stalling issue. So those two issues will be corrected.

The engine completely stopped while driving on two different occasions, once on I10 freeway and on a busy surface street. Hard to pinpoint the failure either mechanical or electrical. Was inspected by two different Honda dealerships and both found no error messages. On the freeway was extremely dangerous we were lucky to safely get to the shoulder and call AAA. On the most occurrence the engine shut off and caused a traffic jam but after a short time was able to restart with no damage only many angry drivers showing their irritation. There was no prior messages or other symptoms that was evident prior to these two occurrences. Had a safety recall performed yesterday, to inspect high pressure fuel pump and no fault was found. This is definitely a safety related defect and if it happens again i don't know if luck will be with me a third time.

The contact owns a 2023 Honda Accord. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V763000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. The yellow brake System Light illuminates on my dash. . I took my car to the Dealership immediately after the Brake System notification illuminated and the Dealer said they don't know how or why. I have a photo of the illuminated yellow light. My Electronic brake doesn't engage correctly when my car is parked I have video of the Electronic brake operating incorrectly. When i speak to the dealership they state that the Red Brake light did activate incorrectly. My car also slammed the brakes when there was nothing in front of me, causing the seatbelt to pull my neck violently. I was at risk of being rear ended. I've reported this to Honda America multiple times. The last incident caused so much anxiety and panic that I will not drive this car. I do not and will not continue to drive a car with brake issues. Please investigate. My car has been to the dealership nine times in one year and parked since 2/7/25.

While driving at speeds between 3-70 MPH, the vehicle will intermittently display multiple warning lamps along with having an immediate loss of motive power (go into LIMP mode). When this occurs, the car must be coasted over to the side of the road & restarted typically twice to clear all of the dash alerts. Having a car go into LIMP mode while driving on city streets, highways or interstates puts our family in danger as well as the safety of others on the road near us. This issue has reproduced itself over a dozen times for our family & the service department has not been able to reproduce/confirm when brought in for repair. The service team on the 1st service date found multiple codes for loss of communications. They cleared the codes, found no permanent codes, performed a hard reset on the system & sent the car home. The 2nd service call again showed multiple codes for loss of communications. They were not able to reproduce the issue & sent the car home. The 3rd service call displayed the same codes as before. They updated the ICM software & sent the car home. The 4th service call displayed the same codes. The service team attempted to reproduce the issue by driving the vehicle for ~250 miles unsuccessfully & wanted to send the car home. We disagreed & they mentioned we should open a case with Honda which we did. Several days later Honda & the service team replaced the integrated control unit. It will take much time & many miles before we can be certain the ICM replacement did or did not resolve the issue. The issue 1st occurred near 6,200 in mileage and roughly 4 months after purchase. The car now has over 27,000 miles. As far as warning lamps during an event, multiple pop up that are images/icons as well as text of issues you can scroll through. Battery lamp, vehicle stability assist reduced traction and handling, brake system problem brake performance may be reduced, electric power steering system problem steering assist reduced, etc.

No one hit me but this could have easily caused an accident where either myself or others were hurt. I was able to drive to the dealer where they ran a diagnostic and could not replicate the problem.
