The contact owns a 2015 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle started losing motive power. The contact stated that the battery symbol and a message "12V Battery Inoperable" appeared on the instrument cluster. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal, but the vehicle failed to respond. The contact pulled over, and the vehicle had a power steering assist function; however, the brakes failed to respond as needed while depressing the brake pedal, and the brake pedal went to the floorboard. The vehicle stalled, and the contact coasted to a stop and attempted to restart the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle restarted but almost immediately stalled. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The mechanic scanned the vehicle and retrieved DTC: P0A94 related to the DC power converter. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V418000 (Electrical System); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000.
Car goes into like a safety mode and does not accelerate when given gas. Car also will not go past 40mph. We see there is a recall for this issue for 2015 Honda accords but vin says it does not apply for this recall even though we are having the exact issue.
While driving on interstate highway at normal speed (55-60 mph), all dash warning lamps lit up and i could hear a rattling sound and saw white smoke coming out of exhaust/back of car. Luckily i was able to safely pull car over as engine failed. I checked underneath car to see if anything was loose and did not notice anything. My car needed to be towed since engine was dead. Independent mechanic confirmed that engine rod bolts blew out and an entirely new engine was needed. All proper maintenance was completed and car was running fine with no warning lights or sounds/problems noticed prior to time of incident.
I purchased a 2015 Honda Accord Hybrid in 2015. In early April 2021, I noticed my driver’s door lock was not working. At first intermittently then not at all. I took it to my Honda dealership and paid to have it repaired. Shortly after, the other 3 actuators stopped working. This time I realized something was wrong so I spoke to my Honda dealership & they had Honda USA pay the $100 deductible on MY extended warranty. In Nov. 2023 I tried to get my grandchild out of the backseat car seat but the door would not open. I had to run around to the driver’s front door, unlock it, reach over and manually unlock the passenger’s front door and then I was able to open the back door to reach my grandchild. If this had been an emergency, even the few minutes that it took me to unlock the door could mean the difference between life and death. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSSUE! I spoke with my dealership and Honda USA & they agreed to pay for most of the(5t)actuator .I was told “this is the last thing they will do for me!” As if I asked for their door actuators to be faulty. I have owned Honda’s since 1989 and have NEVER had an issue like this. Yes, parts break but not multiple times the same part. It is obviously defective. Yesterday, I tried to get my grandchild out of her car seat again and again the door would not open. I have now replaced the actuators once and am on my second round of replacing them. I Google searched and saw Honda recalled actuators for certain make and models, is there a reason someone’s life is more valuable based on the make and model they drive? I see it took a class action lawsuit to get Honda to recall the actuators on other models and provide a 7 year extended warranty on the part. I’m hopeful it won’t again take a class action lawsuit but rather your investigation to realize there are still too many faulty door actuators still in circulation. Hello, I turned my car on and saw the engine emissions system warning, which I’ve never seen before. I thought the cold front or sudden temperature change in my city had something to do with it & it would go away because my car is well maintained(all services done at Honda dealership). I was driving on the freeway about 75 mph and all of a sudden my car stops accelerating. I floored the gas pedal but it was only going about 30 mph(felt weak or like it was operating on battery only) this is when the “engine cooling system problem” and “engine temperature too hot” warnings started flashing. The car behind me almost hit me, other cars were passing & honking at me, I was holding up traffic so I got in the emergency lane. While in the emergency lane I had to turn my car on an off about 6 times for it to work normally for about 5/10 minutes before it would start stalling or the acceleration would stop working(this would happen when the coolant warning started flashing) until I got home. I was confused on why the car wasn’t accelerating like normal because I had more than half a gas tank left & my coolant has been replaced. The next day I turn on my car and it’s perfectly normal-no warnings. I took it to the Honda services and showed them the video I took of the warnings because I was scared and felt unsafe driving it, but they told me to bring it back when the warning lights turn back on the dashboard. It was Normal for about a week, then the warning lights popped back up and it would start stalling/not accelerate again. I constantly had to turn my car off and on driving to Honda services. They told me nothing is wrong with the coolant, they did a diagnostic test on it and said it’s the Computer module/electrical interference causing the warning lights/pumps not to not work. The window side run channel inexplicably began to fold and buckle, making it impossible to close the driver’s side front window.
My AC compressor is failing, despite the fact that the car is less than 7 years old (purchased Nov 2015) and was driven sparingly for two pandemic years. Other Hondas and several other 2015 car models are known to have AC compressor recalls, of which I think this is related. These units should not have to be replaced so early. Also, my dealer charged $400 just to identify the issue and wanted more than $1700 to fix it despite the part being available for less than $500. That’s price gouging on top of selling defective vehicles.
While driving with no warning the power steering fails. The warning light then came on stating power system failure. Then just as quickly it began to work again before I was able to pull safely to the side. After checking the manual I set an appointment with honda of Huntington. They stated there was no error code for the steering and that I should drive the car till the light stays on. After that I took the car to my independent mechanic who also couldn't reproduce the problem. Two days later we drove the car for 1 hour and it happened again. Each time it was failing it returned to normal. This is an accident waiting to happen.
Honda currently has a recall for Honda Accords 2013-2015, #20V769. I happen to have a 2015 Honda Accord Hybrid, but because my particular VIN is not currently shown as affected, they refuse to reimburse me and fix the other side. This issue is related to drive shafts that will break due to corrosion. I was able to fix the broken driver side left axle, but this is clearly a sign that my vehicle was also affected by this manufacture error as it happened the same exact way they described it on the recall. This could have been a much worse accident, luckily I was at a stop sign when it snapped. It simply snapped, no warnings, no lights, nothing.

REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPERS LOCKED UP CAUSING EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STAY APPLIED TO BRAKES RESULTING IN LOSS OF BRAKE PAD AND BURNING OF BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST ONTO THE ROAD SHOULDER AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DUPLICATED. HONDA SEEMED TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT TO FIX, BUT I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED THAT MY CAR NEEDED AN UPDATE RESULTING IN POWER SYSTEM FAILURE. WHY WAS THIS INFORMATION NOT COMMUNICATED TO THE OWNERS OF THESE CARS? FOR A BRAND NEW CAR TO BE ABLE TO DISPLAY ALL KINDS OF INFORMATION (IE, OIL LIFE, RANGE OF MILES, TIME FOR SERVICE) WHY CAN NOT THE CAR DISPLAY THAT ITS COMPUTER NEEDS AN UPDATE AND TO TAKE IN FOR SERVICE? I READ THE PAPERWORK ON THE DIAGNOSITCS AND THERE WAS A STATEMENT THAT DESCRIBED MY INCIDENT COMPLETELY WITH SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER. MY CAR IS NOT ON A RECALL LIST. HONDA SEEMED TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT TO FIX, BUT I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED THAT MY CAR NEEDED AN UPDATE RESULTING IN POWER SYSTEM FAILURE. WHY WAS THIS INFORMATION NOT COMMUNICATED TO THE OWNERS OF THESE CARS? FOR A BRAND NEW CAR TO BE ABLE TO DISPLAY ALL KINDS OF INFORMATION (IE, OIL LIFE, RANGE OF MILES, TIME FOR SERVICE) WHY CAN NOT THE CAR DISPLAY THAT ITS COMPUTER NEEDS AN UPDATE AND TO TAKE IN FOR SERVICE? THERE WAS NO INJURY THANKFULLY, BUT EASILY THIS COULD HAVE HAPPEN, I WAS JUST LUCKY THAT I WAS ABLE TO COAST OVER TO THE EMERGENCY LANE AND WAS NOT GOING UPHILL.
I WAS COMMUTING TO WORK, DRIVING ON A MAJOR, HIGH-TRAFFIC HIGHWAY IN THE HIGH-OCCUPANCY VEHICLE LANE, WHEN WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON, SAYING THERE WAS A POWER SYSTEM PROBLEM, A BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM, AND SOME PROBLEM WITH ELEVATED TEMPERATURE THAT MEANT POWER WAS BEING REDUCED. I PUT ON MY FLASHER, HOPING TO MAKE MY WAY ACROSS THREE LANES OF HEAVY TRAFFIC TO PULL OFF ON THE RIGHT SHOULDER. BUT I HAD NO POWER AT ALL. LUCKILY, THERE WAS A SHOULDER TO THE LEFT WHERE I COULD PULL OFF. (DESPITE THE WARNING, THE BRAKES SEEMED OKAY.) THIS WAS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION, AND IT WAS PURE LUCK THAT NO ONE WAS INJURED OR EVEN KILLED. THE CAR IS ONLY 4 MONTHS OLD. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. THEY TOLD ME THIS WAS "A COMMON PROBLEM" WITH THE ACCORD HYBRID AND THAT HONDA HAD ISSUED A SOFTWARE FIX THAT SHOULD SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. IF THIS IS TRUE, THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL SO OWNERS WILL BECOME AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND CAN GET IT FIXED RATHER THAN WAITING UNTIL POWER FAILURES AND ACCIDENTS OCCUR.

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 78 MPH, THE WARNING MESSAGE FOR THE POWER FAILURE, BRAKE FAILURE, OVERHEATED POWERING DOWN DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND WAS MERGED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT A SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS NEEDED AND CAUSED CONFLICT BETWEEN HYBRID VOLTAGE AND ENGINE VOLTAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000.
