Smell gas the night before. Today, March-20-2026, after driving car for few miles, it came to a complete stop on high way I-95. Large amount of fuel was leaking from fuel hose attached to fuel tank. Vehicle was unsafe to drive.Vehicle was towed to car shop. Damaged part will be determined after fuel tank removal. Vehicle is at Franco Auto Repair in Dania Beach, Florida
The upper radiator hose on some huge percentage of these trucks fail (mine has failed at just over 20K miles). You can check the Colorado Chevy forum, youtube, etc., et al, and find plenty of instances where this has failed. As this is the cooling system, it can cause the engine to overheat and potentially ruin the engine. The flaw seems to be an engineering issue with the rubber seal they use (instead of a high quality o-ring) to seal the upper hose to the radiator. Additionally, since this can cause engine failure it should be addressed immediately. Instead, my local Chevy dealer, since its not a recall item, said they could schedule a time next week for me to LEAVE the truck and then they would get to it in 7-10 days. This is extremely unfair to the consumer who depends on these vehicles. This should absolutely be a recall item. You can find 1000's of examples online and if you can pull GM repair data, I'm sure you'll find 1000's more.
Radiator hose near failure, lose of coolant could be catastrophic. Upper Radiator hose quick disconnect O-ring inside failed.
Since Friday, February 23rd 2026 when my 2023 Chevy Colorado first start blowing oil out of the oil pan. almost 5 qts total was lost when it arrived at the dealership. Truck was out of service from Friday until the following Wednesday, January 28th. The truck was picked up and taken on a drive out to (January 29th, 2026) Waverly, KS from my hometown of Prairie Village, KS about 70 miles. On the way back home the truck went into safe mode at highway speeds. Lost all acceleration and barely made it off the side of the road before getting hit. Truck went back to dealership after being towed 70 miles. Where it was kept until Friday, February 6th. During this time at the dealership, they thought the problem was fixed, where again blew out all the oil while driving. Finally received the truck back. Check engine lights were still on but truck was holding oil and driving decent. Truck was doing fine until Monday February 16th. I was at a job and was driving home to finish the day. Again on the highway at highway speeds, truck goes into safe mode and limp it to gas station to again be empty on oil. It is still sitting there. Just last January the truck needed a new Transmission at 48,000 miles and at the same time a wirinig harness for the back-up camera needed replaced. Alot of things have been going wrong with this truck to be so new. It has cost me alot of out of pocket expenses.
Recall was performed on truck about a year ago for the pedestrian collision automatic braking. Today the truck locked up the brakes in traffic and there wasn’t a pedestrian in sight. I believe the recall didnt truly fix the issue, as it has given false alerts before without applying the brakes

Radiator inlet hose leaked which caused low coolant. Check light alerted. Replace the hose. Parts are on backorder. Also had a recall on the emergency brake assist. I took this in for the recall however the alert assist still goes off.

The upper radiator hose and gasket on numerous Colorado and Canyon trucks have failed prematurely. Mine has failed at 31k miles. Radiator hose leaks can cause engine overheating and failures while on roadways. Additional issues of leaking coolant on roadways and into the environment. Vehicle is scheduled to be viewed by dealership. Symptom which lead to diagnosing problems included rushing fluid sounds as air was introduced to the coolant line as well as an observable leak on the driver side where the radiator hose connects to the radiator.
Driving down the expressway at 70 MPH traffic stopped ahead, I applied the brakes easy to slow down. Dash lit up with "BREAK FAILURE" DO NOT DRIVE OVER 60MPH, brakes beome "VERY SONGEY"
Driving on expressway step on brakes to slow down, brakes become spongy and will not stop quickly, only slow down, engine decelarates to 60 mph. This has now happened 7 times in one and a half years

Forward collision braking activated for no reason and will hard brake. Has done it in the middle of an empty parking lot as well as when driving 65 MPH down the highway, twice. No major injuries happened either time other then sore necks and seatbelt marks. On 2 incidents only the driver was in the vehicle, the other incident consisted of the driver, front seat passenger and 2 children in the back seat. The vehicle has been inspected by dealership. The vehicle now has brake and router problems, which the dealership has said is from hard braking. The vehicle has a bad vibration when applying the brakes.

When you have your foot on the break engine running within about 5 mins the breaks release for a second all the light on the dashboard kick on then the breaks feel spongy, you have to then turn the truck off the computer resets check engine light will still remain but the breaks will now be functional again. When taking it to the dealer they stated there was a software recall and they reset the light called it a day.
COMPONENT FAILURE: Body Control Module causing systematic electrical failures: door locks, power windows, window regulators, four-wheel drive transfer case display. Components intact, available for inspection. SAFETY RISK: Door locks malfunction preventing emergency exit. Power windows fail affecting communication/egress. 4WD display fault (yellow AUTO vs white) indicates transfer case control issues affecting traction in mountain winter driving at 10,000ft elevation. Unpredictable electrical failures create safety risk during remote travel. DEALER CONFIRMATION: Approximately 20 dealer visits. Each time: scan codes, test drive, "no fault found." Problem temporarily clears via battery disconnect/reconnect, proving electrical fault not mechanical. Dealer cannot diagnose root cause, hasn't performed systematic electrical testing. MANUFACTURER INSPECTION: None despite repeated failures. WARNING SYMPTOMS: Intermittent: door ajar warnings, power window/lock failures, 4WD indicator yellow, various warning lights. All symptoms simultaneously resolve after battery disconnect/reconnect, indicating BCM or power distribution fault. Pattern repeats with increasing frequency. CRITICAL: Research shows multiple 2023 Colorado owners report identical patterns - intermittent multi-system failures resolving via battery reset. Indicates systematic 2023 model year defect, likely BCM firmware/hardware issue. Problem occurs unpredictably, clears during dealer transport. Request GM engineering data logging during normal operation.

I have experienced brake failure twice while driving my 2023 Chevrolet Colorado. When the failure occurs, the dashboard displays multiple warnings, including “Service Traction Control,” “Service Power Steering Drive With Care,” and “No Assist Soon.” When these messages appear, the steering becomes extremely stiff, the brakes lose stopping power, and the vehicle becomes very difficult to control. The first incident happened around April 2024, and the dealer performed a software update. The issue happened again around October 2024 at approximately 24,000 miles. The vehicle is primarily used on highways and has no modifications. This is a serious safety concern. The combination of brake loss and power steering failure could result in loss of control, crash, injury, or death. There was no warning before the failures occurred. The dealer cannot confirm a permanent fix. This problem needs to be investigated for a potential recall. This vehicle is now unsafe and unreliable. I refuse to transport my family in it. I am seeking a full refund/buyback, as multiple safety system failures are unacceptable and dangerous.

Intermittent break failure service dealer could not duplicate contacted GMC they say call back if it happens again.
Vehicle accelerated on its own at a stop and then at highway speeds. Took it to dealership who experienced the same thing and confirmed the issue and could not find the reason why.
Roof dents when going through car wash and blowers will dent the roof. GM has a service bulletin on this lbulletin number 23-NA-209 DATED March 24. Bulletin says that all Colorados built before Feb 3rd 2025 should be repaired and gives a part list and how to fix it 9 pages long. BUT GM says my vin number is not showing a recall and will not fix it My Colorado HAS NO DAMAGE BECAUSE I HAVENT PUT IT THROUTH A CAR WASH TRYING TO GET THEM TO FIX WITHOUT PUTTING A DENT IN IT. THE FIX IS PUTTING SUPPORTS IN THE ROOF TO REINFORCE IT.
The right turn signal will click for a left turn after completing its right turn without physically pressing the turn signal. Has happened since buying vehicle, continues to happen now. Turn signal was replaced by dealership, problem not resolved. Have reconfirmed problem with dealership service manager as well as video evidence of issue. Issue happens at all speeds, idle to freeway speeds.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? To my knowledge, which is limited on vehicle diagnosis, the engine valve body is having an issue finding a gear when starting from a stop. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The vehicle engine will sputter and jolt forward and attempt to go to a higher or lower gear when approaching the stop . Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The problem is reproducible, but the dealership is stating i would need a check engine light to have it serviced or seen. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No visible alerts of fault when issue occurs or thereafter.

The right front brake caliper failed with 15747 miles. Local dealer made repairs and said the caliper was not the cause. Their cause was blaming a brake controller used in towing the vehicle. If the controller had caused the failure more than one wheel would of been effected. The three remaining wheels all showed fine and had over 7mm of brake lining remaining. The wheel effected had ZERO pad remaining. I have replaced parts in my possession for evidence.

The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer for a routine oil change and after the vehicle was serviced, the contact was provided a multi-point vehicle inspection sheet which showed that the brake pads had received a green check mark and that the brake pads were 7-millimeters or greater on both the driver’s and passenger’s side. The next day upon start of the vehicle, the contact stated that a message "New Brake Pads Detected" question was displayed on the instrument panel. The contact selected the "No" option followed by another question to service the brake pads. The contact then stated that a "Service Brake Pad Monitoring System" message appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the dealer was informed of the messages. A mechanic inspected the vehicle and informed the contact that both the brake pads and rotors needed to be replaced. The contact was also informed that the brake pads were 2 millimeters or less, despite the contact receiving information the day prior which stated otherwise. The contact questioned the dealer about the discrepancy and was informed that the computer provided the results for the multi-point vehicle inspection. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 27,000.

Vehicle shaking very badly when braking. Then “Service Brake Monitor” message displays. Took it to a Chevy dealership who said my rotors were warped. Turns out many people are complaining about it on Reddit. I purchased vehicle with less than 20k miles on it and it was a Chevy certified used vehicle. I don’t feel safe driving it and Chevy will not foot the bill. This could potentially be dangerous for other drivers and my guess is the parts are defective or something other than “driving conditions” are at play. This should not be happening!
The phone charger will not charge phones. Connects then disconnects within 5-10 seconds.
I have been having intermittent issues with a warning on dash says service safety retrain system vehicle will shut off on its own doesn't want to restart Vehicle was taken to dealership for a tsb as well as the shutoff issue they had the truck 28 days said they diagnosed the truck could not duplicate my concerns I also explained the issue with display going out flickering brake lights etc, intermittent issue with btakes being hard then extremely soft, i even showed video that they can clearly hear me talking on they did not care. when I picked the truck up from dealership the mileage in was same as mileage out as noted on the paperwork and matches pictures I took They never drove the truck. On Wednesday June 4, 2025 while driving home I ended up running a stop sign and barely missing a car because truck shut off causing my brakes to not respond I was able to get it to stop just in time it was witnessed by a local law enforcement agency I showed the officer my truck would not start and pedal was unresponsive was told it had to be towed had a friend tow to my house. on Saturday June 14, 2025 while on my way to Northern Duchess Hospital the warning came on the display and vehicle shut off I was able to get it off the road could not start it had to call for someone to drive me to the hospital upon release at 5am I had to call my brother to pick me up we got truck to start after 20 mins while driving it he informed me I had no brake lights turn signals or headlight the display was black no speedometer nothing had to call friend to tow again once at my house he started checking fuses found 4 melted fuses one was ECM the others were body control module and something else this truck has 7300 miles on it the problems are getting worse last time at dealership service manager stated he wasn't wasting more than 20 minutes on diagnosing anything.
