In 2018, my 2010 Toyota Corolla was taken to the dealership for the Takata Airbag Recall. After the repair the airbag warning light would intermittently display and go away only to come back later. The light was never consistent and was always randomly on so in turn could be off some times during th
... e start up of the vehicle. In 2021, I took the vehicle to the dealership in which at the time the light was still intermittent. The dealership did not present any diagnostic and instead had reset the code during that time. The light would continue to still intermittently show afterwards. Currently the airbag warning light has been solid. Today 1/9/2026, the dealership has indicated they would not remediate this situation under workmanship warranty work despite previously resetting the code. The dealership insists the customer should pay for this remediation work. I have currently declined the work to seek external advise. The dealership work invoice states the code B1806 for the front passenger side squib circuit, this continued error puts passengers at risk in a car accident. Upon request of the previous dealership service history, the customer noted that there is a missing gap for service records on the dealership side. Most importantly the customer stated concern for the 2021 requested remediation was not documented. These appointments are still visible via the customer's service appointment reminder emails.Read more

I received confirmation from my local Hyundai dealership that my 2016 Hyundai Elantra GT is consuming over 1.8 quarts of oil every 1000 miles. The mileage is currently 70k miles. This is not the result of lack of maintenance or neglect but because of Hyundais engine design. I was told by the local d
... ealership that I would need a total engine re build. This was the only option to fix the issue 100%. I was told that if the issue is not fixed it will result in engine failure. Hyundai is not recalling their engines or acknowledging the inherent danger this will cause. I am at my engines will if I cannot afford this repair because Hyundai won’t honor the Powertrain warranty.Read more

The engine light and oil light were coming on and the engine was making horrible noises. My wife called me and we had it towed to the nearest dealer, Allentown KIA. The paperwork we received from KIA stated if those 3 things occur, get towed and the dealer will look the car over over. According to
... the paperwork that we received it could be possible for the engine to be replaced and in addition, a knock sensor recall should be performed. After sitting at the dealer a month before it was diagnosed, they came back with a quote for $9000 for the engine to be replaced because of upper and lower engine noise and timing chain noise, at my expense. I was told it was not covered because I never had the knock sensor recall performed. I never received any paperwork for the recall to be performed. I am a mechanic and I take my car to a private garage for all my service work. I was told there were other recalls not performed. The second person from KIA said that because of an EVAP leak, the engine could not be replaced and they checked the rod bearings by not even taking the engine apart. The engine light is on, the oil light flickers and the engine makes various noises and consumes oil. I do not know what the real story is but I feel my engine should be replaced. I do not know what to do and I own another KIA.Read more
