General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014 Buick LaCrosse vehicles manufactured April 30, 2013, to September 1, 2013. In the affected vehicles, a wiring splice in the driver's door may corrode and break, resulting in the absence of an audible chime to notify the driver if the door is opened while the key is in the ignition. Additionally, the Retained Accessory Power (RAP) module may stay active for ten minutes allowing the operation of the passenger windows, rear windows, and sunroof. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention," and 118, "Power-Operated Window, Partition, and Roof Panel Systems."
Remedy: GM will notify owners and dealers will inspect the driver door window motor harness, and replace the electrical splice, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began August 2014. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300. General Motors number for this recall is 14235.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014 Buick Lacrosse vehicles manufactured January 29, 2014, through March 31, 2014 and 2014 Chevrolet Malibu vehicles manufactured February 7, 2014, through March 31, 2014, and equipped with 17 inch front brake rotors. The affected vehicles may have had brake rotors intended for the rear of the car accidentally installed on the front. The rear rotors, while the same diameter, are thinner and may result in a front brake pad detaching from the caliper.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the front brake rotors, and install the correct rotors with new brake pads, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on June 20, 2014. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014 Buick Regal, LaCrosse, Verano, and Enclave, and Chevrolet Impala, Malibu, Cruze, and Traverse, and GMC Acadia vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions. In the affected vehicles, the transmission shift cable adjuster may disengage from the transmission shift lever. As such, these vehicles do not conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 102, "Transmission Shift Lever Sequence, Starter Interlock, and Transmission Braking Effect." They also fail to conform to FMVSS number 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention."
Remedy: General Motors will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace any affected transmission shift cable adjusters, free of charge. The recall began on April 10, 2014. Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2014 Buick LaCrosse. The contact stated that while attempting to register the vehicle, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 92,864, and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 84,924. Local authorities had not been contacted.

The contact stated that while his wife was driving on the highway at 25 MPH, the “Service Power Steering” message was displayed, and shortly afterward the vehicle lost power steering functionality and the steering wheel became difficult to turn. 2014 recall# 14235 having electrical issue with driver side window, car radio and dash stay active for 10 minutes driver door don’t chime every issue for 2014 Buick lacrosse keep being told there is not recall for my car every issue is from the driver side door electrical splice and driver door window motor harness
1. The driver’s door window motor burnt out causing the window switch to smoke. The fuse never failed. The car was diagnosed at the dealership. It is at the dealership now awaiting the purchase of repair parts. 2. I was told that it was a safety issue by the dealership because the switch could have started a fire. The mechanic had it smoking during the diagnosis. He did not want to put it back together until repaired. 3. The dealer was the one that diagnosed it. 4. The problem was not reported to any other agency. 5. There were no warning signs or messages before the motor failed and the switch burned up. I am also have problems with the radio where it doesn’t now shut off when the drivers side door is opened. It also started when the window motor stopped working. I believe that it all related. I will be calling the dealership back to voice that concern as well. I am very lucky that there wasn’t a fire after I keep trying to get the window to roll down.

I was vacationing in the mountains, so I started down the mountain to go to the nears gas station for air. I had driving apex. 2 miles when I heard the sound of a flat tire. Our steering went out on Interstate 65 while traveling about 70 miles per hour. We were near an exit and I was able to pump my brakes and get off without causing an accident that could have caused a multiple pile-up, injuries and potential deaths. The problem was diagnosed and repaired by a GM Dealership. The car was towed directly for repair—no manufacturer (other than GM repair), police or insurance representative was involved. A message saying “Power steering assist needs service” appeared on the dash 5 to 8 seconds before the steering went out.

GM USED MAGNETIC RIDE CONTROL FRONT AND REAR SHOCKS IN THIS 2014 MODEL YEAR BUICK LACROSSE. THEY HAVE FAILED, SEIZED UP AT 63,000 MILES. DUE TO THE FAILURE OF THE SHOCK (STIFFNESS) THIS WILL LEAD TO UNDUE DAMAGE TO TIRES, RIMS, STEERING AND SUSPENSION COMPONENTS WHICH IN TURN COULD LEAD TO CATASTROPHIC MECHANICAL FAILURES, PROPERTY DAMAGE AND BODILY INJURIES. REPLACEMENT COST IS CLOSE TO $4000 WITH OEM PARTS.

I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY ON THE INTERIOR LANE AT 75 MPH WHEN ALL THE SUDDEN I GOT A AUDIBLE AND VISUAL ALARM INDICATING STEERING FAILURE. I THEN GOT THE SAME FOR STABILTRAK FAILURE. THE STEERING ASSIST WAS OBVIOUSLY GONE IMMEDIATELY AND THE CAR STARTED FLOATING BACK AND FORTH. I HAD MY WIFE AND 92 YEAR OLD MOTHER-IN -LAW WITH ME AND IT WAS MISTING HEAVILY SO I CAREFULLY CONTINUED TO DRIVE AT A REDUCED SPEED. I TOOK THE CAR IN AND THEY SAID THE STEERING WAS NOT GETTING ELECTRICITY. ALSO, THEY SAID THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR WHEEL SENSOR WENT OUT WHICH CAUSED THE BACK AND FORTH MOTION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE FENDER GUARD RECENTLY BEGAN TO LOOSEN AND WAS HANGING OFF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CUT THE PART OFF OF THE VEHICLE TO PREVENT POTENTIAL DAMAGE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT WHEN MY VEHICLE ACCELERATED FORWARD AND I WAS ALMOST HIT BY SEVERAL CARS ACROSS THE INTERSECTION. I STEPPED HARDER ON THE BRAKE AND MANAGED TO STOP MY VEHICLE ALTHOUGH THE ENGINE WAS REVVING VERY HIGH. I MANAGED TO FIND AN OPENING IN TRAFFIC AND PULLED OVER. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT. THE RPM'S WERE EVEN HIGHER NOW(OVER 5000). I IMMEDIATELY TURNED IT BACK OFF AND CALLED THE DEALERSHIP. I WAS TOLD IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. I HAD IT TOWED AND WAS JUST INFORMED BY THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE ( WHICH IS AN ACCELERATOR SENSOR). I THINK THIS COULD HAVE BEEN VERY SERIOUS. I AM EVEN MORE OUTRAGED BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT MY DAUGHTER WAS IN THE CAR WITH ME. I HOPE YOU CAN YOU CAN PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS MATTER BEFORE THERE ARE ANY FATALITIES SOMEWHERE BECAUSE OF BUICK'S NEGLIGENCE( I HAVE REPORTED THIS OCCURRENCE TO BUICK SUPPORT).

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH CASE NUMBER: 84363184708. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,017.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR INDICATED A LOW LEFT REAR TIRE. I STOPPED AND ADDED THE NECESSARY AIR AND CONTINUED DRIVING. IN ABOUT 10 MILES THE MONITOR INDICATED THAT THE TIRE WAS LOW AGAIN. I STOPPED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO HAVE IT CHECKED. UPON INSPECTION I WAS TOLD THAT THE TIRE WAS OK BUT THE WHEEL HAD A1 INCH HAIRLINE CRACK IN THE BEAD AREA ON THE INSIDE SIDE OF THE RIM. THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF DAMAGE TO THE WHEEL OR TIRE OR WHEEL. I FEEL THAT THIS WAS A DEFECTIVE WHEEL MADE IN CHINA. THIS WAS A GM ALUMINUM 20 INCH WHEEL. THIS DEFECTIVE COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I DON'T THINK THAT I CAN TAKE A PICTURE THAT WOULD SHOW THE CRACK.AS IT IS A HAIRLINE CRACK.
VEHICLE WILL NOT START WHEN BRAKE WAS DEPRESSED AND START BUTTON PRESSED. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMBEROUS TIMES AND THE BATTERY IN THE REMOTE CONTROL HAD BEEN REPLACED.
