While driving, the vehicle suddenly began running rough, losing power, and displaying engine warning lights. Due to the severity of the issue, the vehicle was towed to a GMC dealership for diagnosis. The dealership diagnosed lifter failure and a cracked cylinder head. The dealership also documented coolant intrusion, oil/coolant contamination, and evidence of internal engine damage. Repairs were
... attempted, including replacement of the cylinder head and lifter. After the repairs were completed, the vehicle never left the dealership because it continued misfiring on the same cylinder. GM later determined the engine had a failed piston ring and scored engine block requiring complete engine replacement. The vehicle has approximately 55,000 miles, has been properly maintained, and was purchased new. This catastrophic engine failure resulted in loss of power and major internal engine damage at relatively low mileage. I also opened a case directly with GM Customer Assistance regarding this failure. The case involved multiple escalations after the initial repair attempt failed and the vehicle ultimately required full engine replacement. GM ultimately advised that only partial assistance toward the engine replacement would be provided, leaving the customer responsible for a significant portion of the repair cost. I am submitting this complaint because this vehicle appears consistent with the ongoing NHTSA investigation involving GM 6.2L L87 engine failures and loss of motive power.Read more

COMPLAINT: Authorized dealer non-compliance with NHTSA Compliance Recall 25V900 (Rearview Camera Software, FMVSS No. 111). Vehicle is a 2019 Audi A8 subject to Recall 25V900, issued by the manufacturer in January 2026. The recall work was scheduled with an authorized Audi dealer in Southern California by telephone. The dealership representative confirmed an appointment for April 17, 2026 at 2:30

The appointment was then confirmed in writing three separate times by SMS from the dealership: twice from its scheduling line on April 15 and April 16, 2026, and once on April 16 at 12:38 PM by a Business Development Manager from the dealership main line, who expressly acknowledged the scheduled service and used it to solicit a vehicle appraisal. On April 17, 2026 the vehicle was presented at the dealership at the scheduled time. The service advisor on duty stated that the vehicle would have to be left until the following Monday and could not be serviced that day. He refused to provide any reason for the change. He refused to identify who had scheduled the appointment. He refused to contact the service director on the owner's behalf. A direct call to the service director at the number on his business card was not answered. The vehicle was returned without service. The recall remains uncompleted. The dealer's conduct effectively imposes an unreasonable burden contrary to the obligations of 49 U.S.C. § 30120 and 49 CFR Part 577. While driving my Jeep Grand Cherokee, the front passenger headrest suddenly deployed forward with a loud popping/exploding sound. There was no collision, no impact, and no warning before it happened. Fortunately, no one was sitting in the passenger seat at the time. If a passenger had been seated there, the headrest could have struck them in the back of the head or neck and potentially caused seri
... ous injury. This appears to be a dangerous safety defect involving the Active Head Restraint system. Based on information I found from other Jeep Grand Cherokee owners reporting similar failures, the issue may involve a faulty plastic bracket or internal component in the Active Head Restraint that can fail under pressure and cause the headrest to deploy unexpectedly. Other owners have reported injuries such as head, neck, and concussion-type injuries from similar incidents. I am concerned that this failure happened during normal driving conditions and without any crash or trigger event. This creates a serious risk to vehicle occupants and could also startle the driver, potentially causing a crash. I am requesting that NHTSA review this issue and determine whether my vehicle is affected by an existing recall or whether additional investigation or recall action is needed.Read more
