Seat occupancy sensor failed for the second time. The car will randomly shut off if I am inside because it does not detect a passenger. When I exit the vehicle, the car will stay on for an extended period of time due to failed seat occupancy sensor. This is a widespread issue affecting all makes and models of Tesla. They are aware of the high rate of failure and have not made any attempt to issue
... a recall. This is dangerous and inconvenient as the infotainment system will not pair with your phone because it does not detect a driver. When moving, the car will also randomly throw itself into PARK at speed if you don’t put on your seatbelt before moving. The first time this happened, I smashed my head on the steering wheel.Read more

2021 Subaru Forester The vehicle has experienced recurring electrical and battery-related issues for several years. The original battery was replaced by the Subaru dealer with a larger-capacity battery because of repeated starting concerns. The replacement provided only temporary improvement. The vehicle continues to experience rough starting on a regular basis, even after installation of a newe
... r aftermarket battery with a higher cold-cranking-amp rating. The current battery is approximately five months old. The most significant safety concern occurs during Auto Start-Stop operation. On multiple occasions, the engine has shut off at a stop as intended, but then failed to restart when attempting to move again. When this occurs, multiple warning lights illuminate on the dashboard and the vehicle is unable to proceed until it is shifted into Park and restarted manually. Because of this issue, I now disable the Auto Start-Stop feature on every drive to avoid a potential failure to restart while in traffic. The issue has been ongoing for years and has occurred with multiple batteries, including the dealer-installed replacement battery and a newer aftermarket battery. The dealer suggested that an aftermarket dash camera could be contributing to battery drain. The dash camera was disconnected, but the problem continued. I am concerned that failure of the vehicle to restart after Auto Start-Stop operation could leave the vehicle disabled in traffic and create a safety hazard. The condition appears to involve the vehicle’s electrical system, battery management system, charging system, Auto Start-Stop system, or a combination of those components. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.Read more

On Thursday, May28 I was driving my 2025 Ford Mach-2 on Schrock Rd. in Columbus, Ohio at approximately 3:30 PM when the hood (the "frunk") of the car unexpectedly unlatched and opened, flying up to a vertical position and obscuring my view of traffic. I was away from home when this occurred. When I got in the care to drive home, there was a warning that came on, for the first time, that read as follows: FRUNK FAULT DETECTED; SERVICE REQUIRED. There was no advice to avoid driving the car. I checked the hood/frunk to be sure that it was firmly closed, then started for home, avoiding my usual freeway drive at 65mph for a slower trip on local roads. It is a good thing I did, because the risk of a major accident with injury and serious property damage would have been far greater at higher speed. I arrived home without the frunk opening again, called for Ford Roadside Assistance, and arranged to have the car towed to Germain Ford of Columbus, where it still is, awaiting the delivery of a new frunk latch system. The dealer has determined that there is likely a defective sensor in the frunk latch. This is a known issue with the Ford Mach-e, affecting not only the frunk but also sometimes the hatch lid in the rear. This is a serious safety hazard, and a review of reports over several models years from Mach-e owners indicates that I am not alone in having experienced it. At highway speeds a suddenly unlatched frunk/hood would not only open to the vertical, but conceivable also be smashed against the windshield or ripped off the vehicle and become airborne. Ford is aware of the issue, for there is are technical service bulletins covering it.Read more

I am requesting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) investigate a potential defect affecting 2017 Nissan Rogue vehicles involving the sunroof drainage system. My vehicle has experienced repeated issues with the sunroof drain becoming clogged, which causes water to leak into the interior of the vehicle. When the drainage system becomes blocked, water enters the cabin an
... d can soak the headliner, carpeting, electrical components, and other interior areas. This creates the potential for mold growth, electrical malfunctions, visibility issues, and other safety concerns. After researching this problem online, I discovered that many other 2017 Nissan Rogue owners have reported similar complaints involving clogged sunroof drains and water intrusion. The number of reported incidents suggests this may be a widespread design or manufacturing issue rather than normal wear and tear. I believe this condition presents a safety risk because water can damage electrical systems, airbags, sensors, and other critical vehicle components. Owners should not be expected to repeatedly repair a drainage system that appears prone to clogging and causing interior water damage. I respectfully request that NHTSA review consumer complaints regarding this issue and determine whether an investigation and potential recall of affected 2017 Nissan Rogue vehicles is warranted. Thank you for your time and consideration.Read more
