I am submitting this complaint regarding my 2022 Hyundai Tucson equipped with the 2.5L engine. The vehicle has experienced multiple incidents of severe engine misfiring while driving. During these events, the engine begins to shake violently, the entire vehicle vibrates, and engine power is significantly reduced. The vehicle becomes unable to accelerate normally, creating a serious safety hazard,
... especially when driving on highways or in traffic. The malfunction has occurred several times. Diagnostic trouble codes P0302 and P0303 have been recorded, indicating cylinder misfires. In some cases, turning the engine off and restarting it temporarily restores normal operation. On other occasions, adding fuel system cleaner appeared to temporarily improve the condition. However, the problem eventually returns. Because the condition is intermittent, the Hyundai dealership has been unable to reproduce the failure during inspection and therefore has not performed a repair under warranty. Despite multiple visits, the root cause remains unidentified. I am concerned that the sudden loss of power and severe engine vibration could result in an accident if the vehicle is unable to maintain speed or accelerate while traveling at highway speeds. This issue has significantly affected the safe operation of the vehicle. I request that this matter be investigated, as it appears to be a recurring safety-related defect.Read more

The Blind spot warning lights on both sides of the mirros are not lit consistently. It brings in some dangerous situation if we assume the warning light is always lit when there is a car in the blind spot. So I observed it on the highway several times, especally at night, where the warning light is mostly needed. The result is consistent. I was driving on the three-lane I95 and adaptive cruising

It's lit on all light color cars, like white cars. The left-hand side blind spot warning light was lit most time. But there were still times that it's not lit, especially on dark color cars at night.Read more

My vehicle was brought to an authorized Hyundai dealership In November 2025 to complete safety recall campaign KSDS (Campaign 966). Soon after picking up the vehicle after the dealer flashed the ECU, the vehicle went into a permanent, dangerous "limp mode" that severely limits the engine's RPMs, making it impossible to accelerate to highway speeds. The vehicle's computer displays zero OBD-II diag
... nostic trouble codes (no P1326 or standard fault codes). The dealership is refusing to address this issue, falsely claiming a plugged catalytic converter, despite the vehicle having passed a strict California Smog Check with perfect emissions and zero catalyst codes, just a few weeks before the update was performed, and ran perfectly normal. This recall software update has rendered my vehicle extremely unsafe to drive on public roads, and the manufacturer's authorized repair facility is refusing to remedy the electronic damage caused by the recall installation. I am trapped driving a disabled vehicle in a permanent, dangerous software loop.Read more

NHTSA Defect Report (Initial Portal Filing) Manufacturer Target: General Motors (GM) Filer: [XXX] Classification: Mechanical Defect & Administrative Evasion Narrative for Submission I am filing this formal defect report regarding a catastrophic, systemic safety failure present in the 2025 Chevrolet Traverse architecture (VIN: [XXX]), manufactured by General Motors. It was immediately surrendered to Preston Chevrolet, where it remained completely out of service for 34 consecutive days. GM's own OnStar Diagnostic Telemetry automatically dispatched critical fault alerts while the vehicle was stranded, explicitly logging the following irrefutable failure codes: DTC U1962 (PCM - Engine and Transmission System): Warning stated: "System transferring power to the drive wheels not performing as expected." This indicates a catastrophic decoupling or failure to transfer motive power. If this failure occurs at highway speeds, it results in a total loss of propulsion, creating an extreme rear-end collision hazard. DTC U0452 (VIU - OnStar System): A simultaneous failure in the Wireless Communication and Safety system, meaning that when the drivetrain catastrophically fails, the vehicle's automated emergency SOS and crash-reporting telemetry is actively blocked or compromised. ELEVATION TO ADMINISTRATIVE EVASION General Motors and its authorized dealer network were provided with formal written notice of this defect. The 30-day statutory right to cure window fully expired without any mechanical resolution. Rather than deploying engineering solutions to rectify the severe safety defects they released into the public domain, GM has instead deployed aggressive legal maneuvers designed to evade accountability. I believe the
... se issues are interrelated and originate in the vehicle's high-voltage electrical system. Confirmed recall status (per NHTSA VIN lookup): - [XXX] / NHTSA 26V-067 — Recall Incomplete. NHTSA's summary states that since installation of the protective software, field evidence shows a risk of thermal overload remains in vehicles with battery packs manufactured through the end of the 2021 model year, which includes this vehicle. - H572 / NHTSA 26V-067 — Recall Incomplete, remedy not yet available. Both recalls concern thermal overload in the high-voltage traction battery that may present as smoke or fire, with risk of occupant injury, injury to others, and property damage. Owners are advised to limit charging and park away from structures. Vehicle history and current status: - On XXX, the vehicle was towed to the dealer because it was dead and would not start. - The dealer's technician comments on RO XXX state that fault code P0A40-00 (Drive Motor "A" Position Sensor Circuit Range/Performance) "originally occurred prior to any work being performed" at 90,585 km on 31-May-2026, 15:42:35 UTC, "and keeps returning." This places the drive-motor fault at the time the vehicle arrived inoperable, before any service work, and identifies it as recurring. - The technician replaced the 12V start-up battery (which had failed testing and would not hold charge) and cleared faults. After this, the vehicle displayed a flashing "D," would not drive, and would not shift to Park. A separate code, U2109-09, was logged for TCU back-up battery failure. - Jaguar INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C.Read more

The engine consumes oil which is a known problem at Hyundai with the Tucson for the year 2020. The car has ~51,000 miles on it. When we took the car to the dealer at which we bought the car they diagnosed that the engine was burning oil. We were told that the engine is covered by standard warranty (10 yr. 100,000 miles). there is a process Hyundai has established for engines suspected of havin
... g this issue - first we had to have them check the oil and engine and then we had to drive the car 1000 miles and bring it back to them. when we brought it back they confirmed the the engine was consuming oil. They asked us to provide our maintenance records on the car (oil changes). We were able to find evidence of 5 oil changes but we know the we changed the oil on the car every 3-5k miles as we always do. The next step in the process is a combustion chamber cleaning which costs $1400 which would normally be covered by warranty but since we did not have all records of oil changes they will not cover it so we are being told we have to pay the $1400 out of pocket and also the the cleaning is not assured to fix the issue with the engine. If it fails to fix the issue the car will need a new engine which Hyundai is telling us they will not do under the warranty and it will be our financial obligation ($10-15K additional paid by us). It is clear that Hyundai is trying to shirk their warranty obligation to us. So we are stuck - we have to pay out of pocket for a service that may not resolve the issue and if it does not the car needs a new engine. If we sell the car back to the dealership they will only pay us $6000 when the car with a good engine is worth $15K. We take our obligation of regular maintenance seriously and have been loyal buyers at this dealership for >20 years never having an issue with proper maintenance. We think it unconscionable that Hyundai is leaving us holding the bag for a problem they know exists with theses enginesRead more

I was merging onto the highway in my 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD AT4X equipped with the 6.6L Duramax engine at about 50mph when the gauge cluster emitted a “Reduced Acceleration Drive With Care” message followed by a check engine light. The check engine light presented indicated a “P0747” and “P0700” code. The vehicle was then stuck in 5th gear at highway speeds. Luckily there was no traffi

This could have been a dangerous situation due to the sudden change in handling of the vehicle. I have since then had the vehicle towed to the dealership in which it was purchased from for them to do their investigation to see how to fix the issue. This is a very well known issue with these GM heavy duty pickups. There is currently a recall on these trucks for this exact issue but my truck at this point in time is not included in said recall. I believe the recall is for 2020-2022 vehicles. Mine happens to be a 2024 which uses the same transmission as the older model vehicles in the recall. There are many other owners of these trucks like myself who have experienced this exact same issue. I’m sure this isn’t the first time this issue has been reported either.
