Smells gas while driving.
Incident date: Aug 17, 2026
When stopping with the auto idle stop system engaged, the vehicle failed to auto restart after letting off the brake pedal. This has happened three times with the last two occurrence less than a week apart. The first two times I was in a queue at a stop light and was able to shift into park and manually restart the car and proceed on the road without further incident. The third time in particu
... lar I observed that the manual start did not work on the first attempt but did on the second attempt. There were no warning indicators or messages prior to the auto restart failure. There is some risk of safety when a vehicle remains unexpectedly stopped in the road while surrounding traffic is moving. I plan to take the vehicle to the dealer for evaluation.Read more

My bike was brought into an authorized / certified service center and the, Component: rear wheel was not serviced correctly ; the service person forgot to install one of the two wheel bearings and the one bearing he did install was placed on the wrong side of the wheel ; I took the bike ; started my road trip ; the rear tire was wobbly but I thought it was an alignment issue that I would have to
... deal with when I arrived at the next service center. Safety: the wheel bearing was required for the bike to be assembled correctly ; the one lug nut holding the rear wheel assembly on the bike almost worked itself loose ; which would have caused my rear-wheel to lave the bike ; causing me to have certain injury or death Reproduced: Yes, I brought my bike to another authorized / certified service center and they determined the issue ; held my bike from use as it was not roadworthy (they commented, how I could be alive given the distance to their service center) ; the necessary parts were ordered, installed ; I took the bike : the front wheels were out of alignment which was 'masked' by the rear wheel being installed incorrectly Inspected: the vehicle was inspected by the service shop who performed the necessary service to my rear-wheel ; I tried to make an appointment with the original service center but they refused to take my call, answer my emails, and when I called they said that they were no longer servicing Can-Am bikes for the forseeable future so could not help me. Warning: There was no warning as I was having my bike completely serviced prior to a road trip (~ 4000 miles) ; upon receiving my bike there was a wobble in my back tire as I rode home ; the service shop was closing after I took my bike ; I was leaving the next day on my road trip ; so decided to deal with the wobbly back wheel when I arrived at the next service shop ; I rode at 55mph because the wobbly rear wheel was noticeable at 60mph and terrible at 70 mphRead more

On the weekend of May 23-24, 2026, on the first and only trip taken in this new 2026 Renegade Classic 43CMD Super C motorhome (coach built by Renegade RV of Elkhart, IN, on a Freightliner chassis; production no. K01-4121), the Firefly multiplex control system failed and blacked out, disabling operation of the coach including the air conditioning while parked in approximately 100-degree desert heat
... . During the same period, an electrical spark occurred at a fan switch. A dealer technician (IWS Sales, Mountain Home, ID) inspected the coach and reported that a relay on the mid-coach A/C control board had overheated and was burnt and melted with visible burn marks. Photographs provided by the manufacturer show the relay's power-terminal connector melted and charred, with melted material having run onto the relay housing, indicating a high-resistance or overheating connection at a live power terminal. The dealer replaced the control board and stated that this same A/C board failure occurs "a few times a year" on these coaches, indicating a possible recurring defect. A component that overheats to the point of melting and charring inside an occupied motorhome presents a fire risk to occupants. The original burnt and melted board was discarded by the dealer and is no longer available for inspection. Photographs are available on request. I am filing this complaint so the defect is documented for safety-trend and potential recall analysis.Read more

The exhaust clamp rusted and broke, causing a hole in the exhaust which set off the engine light and eventually poisoned my catalytic converter costing $4000 to replace. GM's extended warranty exception for the admitted defect is to replace the clamp and flex pipe only, about $100 worth but they refused to cover the peripheral damage caused by the faulty clamp.

I am reporting a catastrophic engine failure involving my 2021 Honda Pilot equipped with the 3.5L V6 engine. The vehicle has approximately 77,000 miles. The vehicle developed an engine rattling noise followed by complete engine failure and loss of motive power. I had the vehicle transported to an authorized Honda dealership for diagnosis. Following inspection and engine teardown, the Honda deale
... r documented a hole in the front side of the short block, a large amount of metal debris in the oil pan, and the cylinder #3 connecting rod broken in half. The dealer concluded that the engine experienced catastrophic internal failure with widespread metal contamination throughout the lower and upper engine components. Due to the extent of the damage, the Honda dealer recommended replacement of the short-block assembly, both complete cylinder heads, fuel injectors and associated components. The estimated engine repair alone is approximately $20,275. I am concerned that this failure may represent a safety-related engine defect because catastrophic connecting-rod failure can result in sudden loss of motive power. Honda has previously recalled certain vehicles equipped with 3.5L V6 engines for connecting-rod-bearing failures that can cause engine damage, engine failure and loss of motive power. My 2021 Pilot is not currently included in that recall population. I am not asserting that the cause of my engine failure has been established as identical to the existing recall defect. However, given the catastrophic connecting-rod failure documented by an authorized Honda dealer, I am requesting that NHTSA review this incident and determine whether it may be related to the broader pattern of connecting-rod/engine failures involving Honda 3.5L V6 engines, including vehicles outside the existing recall population.Read more

I am reporting a violation of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act by Ball Kia (National City, CA). The dealer tried to deny service for recall 25V794000 (SC356) for a melted, leaking fuel tank, fabricated a false diagnostic narrative of road impact to exploit me, and tried to charge $3,000 out-of-pocket for a federally mandated free repair. My vehicle has a severe fuel leak from a com
... promised fuel tank. Ball Kia service refused the recall, claiming "external aesthetic factors" or "road debris impact" caused it, and pressured me to tow it away.Using my military infantry experience in mechanical damage assessment, I inspected the vehicle in the service bay. I verified there is absolutely no puncture, tear, scrape, or kinetic impact on the fuel tank assembly. The dealer pointed to a split in the fuel tank protector panel, but a professional assessment shows this is false. The plastic protector panel failed due to extreme thermal exposure; the expanding tank pressed it against the hot exhaust, causing it to melt and tear under heat/pressure, not a kinetic strike. The tank itself is structurally melted and deformed with zero signs of road impact. This physical evidence matches the exact defect mechanism in the NHTSA recall: a deteriorated check valve allows intake pressure into the fuel tank, causing it to expand, hit hot exhaust components, melt, and leak.Only after I read the exact NHTSA safety risk and remedy text verbatim did the service manager back down and open a manufacturer Tech Line.Because I had to fight a fraudulent diagnosis to get this safety mandate acknowledged, I fear internal dealership retaliation, being blacklisted, or receiving a subpar, dangerous repair. Leaving a high-risk fire defect unaddressed is a public safety hazard. Please audit Ball Kia's handling of campaign 25V794000 to ensure they are not endangering or defrauding other affected Kia K5 owners.Read more

Traced back to no power on circuit 5293. Traced back to blown 15-amp fuse 3 of under hood fuse block. Found bulletin #24-NA-080 stating this can be caused by a short in the EGR valve. Tested circuit 5293 and found short at the EGR valve. Advise EGR valve and cooler replacement then retest.---- We disconnected the EGR valve, which means we are driving only on gas, not electric. We cannot charge it anymore. The cost to replace the valve and cooler is over $4k because Chevrolet does not make the vehicle anymore or the EGR valve part apparently. This is a SIGNIFICANT safety hazard if the car is going to simply die suddenly. It is a miracle I did not get hit.Read more

I discovered an engine coolant leak from a crack near the end of the Plastic Coolant Bypass Pipe (part #31368673/32382362) after noticing coolant puddling on my garage floor. There are numerous comments with pictures on-line about how common this part fails on this model Volvo. What's also interesting is that the "pipe" fails in exactly the same location (on top and near the end). Seems to me
... if this is a known defect and the part is not performing with reasonable reliability, Volvo should provide an allowance to car owners when the part fails.Read more

The head rest of the second row broke and will not return to its upright position. It happened when we putting the seat in the stow position. Having the headrest sticking into your neck is very dangerous so we basically lost a seat in our vehicle. We can choose to remove the headrest, which is a danger for whiplash OR repair it. The repair is estimated over $300 which is ridiculous! This should

On XXX I was driving on [XXX] at about 70mph, when the rear drivers side window on a 2023 Toyota tacoma crew cab shattered suddenly. If someone had been sitting in the backseat when this occurred they could have been injured. The door panel itself was damaged from the tiny shards of glass. It was a dangerous situation as glass was most likely showering the vehicles behind me as this occurred. T
... his vehicle only had 22,200 miles on it at the time and was a stock vehicle. No modifications were added. I had all the windows closed and the AC and recirculating air was on at 2 bars. It was about 8:30 at night when this happened. When I was able to get off the freeway and look at what happened, the glass was totally gone from the window. There was lots of glass on the door panel & well below that, a little behind the drivers seat on the floor close to the window and a little behind where the seat leaves a gap (when the seat is folded down), close to the window that blew out. There was no glass further into the vehicle, which if something had hit the window from outside, I would think the glass would have been further inside. I found more small glass pieces in the bed of my truck (6’ bed). This was a very scary situation and I didn’t do anything to cause it. A more high strung person might have reacted badly to this sudden boom and caused an accident at high speed on the highway. I have heard that similar things have happened to other drivers of certain models of toyota from 2020 - 2026. The vehicle is still under warranty and I took it to Toyota but they refused to repair it under the warranty. I am taking it to a repair shop tomorrow to get an estimate for my insurance. There was no warning prior to this occurring. It was a shock. A child in a rear seat in this situation could have sustained injury. The door panel had slices in it and the fabric is torn. While operating the vehicle, I experienced a sudden and unexpected loss of propulsion accompanied by a Drive System Failure warning. An associated fault message was also displayed. The vehicle became immediately undrivable and required towing. This matter is not being raised as a routine service concern. The critical issue is the abrupt and uncommanded loss of propulsion during active vehicle ope
... ration. Had this event occurred under different driving conditions—such as highway speeds, dense traffic, or an intersection—the potential safety consequences could have been severe, including elevated risk of collision. A propulsion loss of this nature represents a potential safety hazard to vehicle occupants and surrounding road users. Accordingly, I am requesting that Lucid treat this matter as a formal PRODUCT SAFETY INCIDENT requiring engineering-level review, rather than a standard repair disposition.Read more
