Driving to work on the highway and the Honda pilot suddenly slowed and stopped accelerating, started riding rough and making a loud whistling blowing noise. Check engine light was suddenly flashing. I was able to pull over into a lane split zone before being hit by all the traffic going around and bumping horns at me. I was terrified but thankful to be alive. I want in a good spot though, cars an
... d big trucks were still speeding by pretty close to me. I started inside and called AAA. I tried turning on the car but it just made a fast tapping noise. AAA worked to safely get me out and tow the car to the mechanic my wife and I chose. The mechanic ran a diagnostic report that says p0306 misfire in cylinder 6, and tear in inlet air boot. They said there is an engine problem that they don't service. We towed it to the Honda dealership. Late the next day the mechanic at Honda says we have an engine problem that is not due to the codes on the diagnostic report and is not covered under warranty and costs $7000 for labor and with a rebuilt engine, about 11k to $15k total. He says the engine was seized. He said it initially had no power, then they jumped and put a battery and the engine just made a thud sound. He said he could not generate another diagnostic report because he couldn't get the engine to turn on. We told him we saw that the engine problem was a known issue and that Honda was extending warrantees to 150k and 10yr and could he see if we were haven't that same problem. He said that problem was minor and only covered a few new parts, not the whole engine. I asked why was pep boys able to get a diagnostic and he could not. He said he doesn't know why the engine seized between pep boys and being checked at Honda. He said maybe the previous mechanic did something wrong. Now we have no car and have already purchased a 3rd Honda not even knowing we were driving around a death trap. The Honda dealership that sold us the accord didn't even warn us. We could have died.Read more

At only 24,000 miles, the rear brakes are already showing significant wear. When checked by the dealer, they were 2mm, while the front brakes were 12mm. If a driver wasn't getting regular inspections

As one of the vehicles it was advancing towards I laid on my horn to try to get it to stop, but it didn't and the car next to me had to back up away from it to avoid collision. The waymo stopped about 1 foot away from the car before reversing into the intersection again (see pictures) and then turning onto 14th andriving away. The waymo essentially used a very busy intersection and active crosswalk to execute a 3 point turn. Without human driver intervention a collision was likely with a vehicle or pedestrian.Read more

Michelin reviewed the warranty claim submitted by Discount Tire, and denied the claim due to improper servicing. No warning alerts. The main issue is that the vehicle was recently serviced by the Mercedes dealer in Lafayette, IN on 3-24-26. They collected the payment and handed my wife the key. They did not volunteer ANY issue of ANY kind. She questioned if they even checked the warning alert about the brakes. They stated that the brake pads were in the yellow, and needed to eventually be changed, but it could wait. Several days later, I was riding in the vehicle and noticed a loud road noise. Could not initially detect any damage to the outer/visible areas of the tires such as a nail. But the sound persisted. When we stopped again, I turned the steering wheel to expose the inner part of the tires. There was zero tread on the inside of the driver front tire with sharp metal exposes. Immediately took the car to Discount Tire. They confirmed it was an OBVIOUS alignment issue causing the uneven wear. Shocked Mercedes didn't fix the problem. Should have never given us the key back due to the high level of danger. Midas fixed the alignment $120. Both the dealer and MB USA hq were notified. The Ford Escape 2017 experienced a transmission malfunction involving delayed shifting, sudden jerking during operation, and difficulty shifting gears properly. Unusual noises were also coming from the transmission, along with ongoing symptoms indicating a clear mechanical and technical defect. This defect placed the driver, passengers, and other motorists at risk, especially during acceleration
... or while merging onto highways, due to the vehicle’s delayed response and the possibility of sudden loss of control or unexpected stopping while driving. Prior to the complete failure, several warning signs and recurring symptoms appeared, including vehicle jerking during driving, delayed or rough shifting, abnormal transmission noises, and in some cases the illumination of the Check Engine warning light. These symptoms began gradually before the problem significantly worsened.Read more

"The vehicle suffered a critical failure of the shift interlock safety system. After parking in a driveway, the ignition key was able to be fully turned to the 'off' position and removed from the ignition cylinder, even though the transmission was not successfully secured in 'Park.' After the key was removed and I and went into the house the van rolled away. It traveled downhill, crashed through a
... fence, and collided with a residential structure, causing significant property damage to the house and vehicle. This failure could potentially cause serious injury or death and this was the first time that it had occurred and is exhibiting the same failure as described. Immediately following the collision, video evidence was recorded showing the key in hand while the dashboard indicators and shifter remained out of the 'Park' position. This indicates the safety mechanism designed to prevent key removal unless the vehicle is in 'Park' failed to operate, creating a life-safety rollaway hazard."Read more

Manufacturer failed to provide an adequate remedy for Safety Recall 17V-435 (T36). On 09/12/2018, the dealer "inspected" the 180-AMP alternator (Part 4801833AB) and cleared it as safe. On 09/25/2019, this exact component suffered a total fatigue failure, causing a "no-start" condition and electrical collapse. Safety Risk: This vehicle is equipped with Electro-Hydraulic Power Steering (EHPS). The
... alternator failure poses a risk of sudden loss of power steering assist and engine stall, which are the primary safety hazards identified in 17V-435. Regulatory Issue: FCA (Stellantis) has denied reimbursement for the repair by incorrectly citing "Basic Warranty Expiration," which is a violation of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act (Safety recalls do not expire). Furthermore, FCA claims the part is "not covered," despite the dealer invoice identifying it as the 180-AMP unit central to the T36 recall. I am requesting an ODI review of the adequacy of the "inspection-only" remedy for this VIN.Read more

The front grille and front bumper of my 2025 Nissan Pathfinder have melted twice on their own without any accident, impact, or unusual use. The vehicle is used exclusively for personal family transportation and is parked outdoors in Florida. Nissan opened a warranty case on April 1, 2026. However, their entire investigation was conducted based on photos only — no physical inspection of the vehic
... le was ever performed by Nissan or their representative. Despite this, Nissan denied the warranty claim stating it was not their responsibility, without identifying the root cause of the damage. During the claims process, a Nissan call center representative provided false information stating that our vehicle had been in service for 6 months, which is completely untrue. Multiple calls went unanswered or were disconnected. Written emails were ignored. It took over 6 weeks to receive a final decision. This is a known recurring issue affecting multiple Nissan Pathfinder and Nissan Armada owners dating back to 2021-2022 models. Other owners have reported identical melting of front grille plastic components under normal driving and parking conditions. In at least one documented case, Nissan sent an engineer for physical inspection and immediately confirmed warranty coverage — contradicting their standard practice of denying claims based on photos only. The melting of exterior plastic components on a brand new vehicle raises serious concerns about the quality and heat resistance of materials used by Nissan, and potential safety hazards if the root cause is internal heat rather than external factors. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this matter as it may indicate a manufacturing defect affecting multiple 2021-2025 Nissan Pathfinder and Armada vehicles.Read more

My car has under 6,000 mi on it. I bought it new and it has had this problem from the start. The TPMS alarms time after time. I go through all the routine of checking the tires and resetting the alarm system as per the manual. It might stay off for 10 mi or for 100 mi, but for sure it will come back on, and when the tires are checked, they are OK. So I reset it again and repeat the process. I have
... taken it to the dealer 5 times for this issue and have another appointment scheduled for next week. Twice they just reset it without checking me into the service dept. 3 times they checked it into the shop and worked on it. They called the Honda corp and ask them what to do, and were told to balance the tires. That actually worked for a while, but the problem just came back. When the monitoring system goes off, we don't know if it is for real or not. We won't leave town with the car because of that. If we disregard the alarm, it might be that we actually have a low or flat time and could have an accident or even be killed. I virtually won't leave town with the car because I don't know when or if it is giving me good information, and also.... EVERY time it happened, I MUST stop and check all the tires air pressure and then reset the system. I think that this is a dangerous issue.Read more

On Sunday, April 12, 2026, at approximately 5:00 PM, I experienced a sudden and complete engine failure while driving my 2019 Chevy Silverado equipped with the 6.2L V8 engine. Without warning, the vehicle lost all ability to accelerate, creating an immediate and dangerous situation for myself, my family, and surrounding drivers. I was forced to rely on the vehicle’s remaining momentum to maneuve
... r to the side of the road, all while other drivers honked as I attempted to merge with no engine power. This incident caused significant stress and posed a serious safety risk. My vehicle had to be towed home and then to [XXX] Casa Chevrolet at [XXX] . After inspection, the dealership informed me that the engine requires a full rebuild, despite the vehicle having only 115,697 miles. According to the dealership, the engine shows **no compression on all cylinders**, **crankshaft and camshaft compression failure**, **pistons coated in oil and fuel with visible damage**, and a **non‑functioning timing chain likely due to a broken guide**. These findings mirror the exact symptoms currently under investigation in GM’s **EA25007** inquiry involving the 6.2L V8 (L87) engines in 2021–2025 GM trucks and SUVs GM has already issued a major recall affecting nearly **600,000 vehicles** due to defective connecting rods and crankshafts that can cause sudden engine failure, stalling, and potential fire hazards.
The brake pedal on my vehicle intermittently becomes stuck in the fully raised position and will not depress when I attempt to apply the brakes. When this occurs, I am unable to slow down or stop the vehicle, creating an immediate and serious safety hazard. The problem happens without warning and has occurred multiple times while driving at various speeds. When the defect occurs, the pedal feels
... locked or jammed, and I have to use extreme force or pump the pedal repeatedly before it finally releases. This delay in brake response puts me, my passengers, and other drivers at risk of a crash. The issue is unpredictable and does not appear to be related to weather, temperature, or driving conditions. I have not made any modifications to the braking system. The defect has occurred both during normal city driving and while approaching intersections. Because the failure prevents the brakes from engaging at all, I believe this is a critical safety issue that requires investigation.Read more

I took my vehicle to the local Ford dealership for service due to a check engine light being on. They pulled the spark plug and found the cylinder full of coolant and found TSB-22-2229. I called Lincoln and was told they wouldn’t assist me because I fell outside their time and mileage limits. This issue should have been a recall due to their defective engine design. Engine replacement is very co
