Both front struts of the vehicle have failed and are leaking. There is only 36,000 miles on this vehicle when they should last 200,000 miles per Toyota's service department. Toyota refuses to acknowledge this is their problem and that it's a "wear and tear' part. However clearly these parts should not fail after so little usage.

When driving transmission has issues in low gears specificially when starting from a stop and accelerating, often shifts very hard, or shifts into neutral and engine just revs. Very unsafe in all aspects as normal accelration does not take place. Second row, right side seat belt sensor is malfunctioning. It started about 6 weeks ago. Occasionally, when going around a turn, an alarm would chime and a red X would appear on the affected seat on the dash screen. The seat belt was securely latched. The alarm continued to sound and the dash showed a red X on that seat plus a red picture of a person wearing a seat belt. It was a short (about 1 mile drive) and the alarm went off the whole time. We had to reconfigure the vehicle so that seat is no longer being used. We contacted the dealer and they stated that our VIN has no recall or Service Bulletins related to the issue. We are taking it in to be inspected later this week. The contact noticed an unusual hissing sound. The contact stated that the brake pedal was depressed to the floor. The contact was informed that the vacuum pump and the brake booster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failure reoccurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The vehicle was scheduled for diagnostic testing within the next couple of days. The contact stated that the failure was persistent. In addition, the contact stated that the failure was a known failure of the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. ... acted multiple dealerships as well as the (FCA US LLC) a subsidiary of Stellantis N.V. seeking assistance, yet every response has been the same: there is no remedy and no parts available. This has escalated beyond an inconvenience and has become a serious and ongoing safety concern for both myself and my family. It is unacceptable that a federally recognized safety recall of this magnitude has remained unresolved for such an extended period without an available repair solution. As the situation currently stands, I no longer feel safe operating this vehicle. Furthermore, I do not believe it is reasonable or responsible to expect owners to sell or trade vehicles burdened with an unresolved safety defect of this nature.Read more

The gear shifter cable became detached from it’s mount located under the air filter in the engine bay and stranded the driver at a gas station after she turned off the vehicle until she was able to use the gear release to shift the car into neutral and start the car. This vehicle has not been inspected by manufacturer, dealer or police. A dealer was contacted about recalls for this problem and one did not exist for this VIN regarding the gear shifter cable, however there are existing recalls for this same issue for Ford Escapes made from 2013-2019.
