Incident Narrative

An employee was loading a traffic barrier onto a trailer. The employee unhooked the chains used to lift and place the piece of traffic barrier onto the trailer. As he was moving to exit the trailer, a forklift backed up and the chain caught the barrier and caused it to slide. The employee was struck by the sliding barrier and pushed off the trailer onto the concrete pavement below. The employee sustained torn ligaments and tendons to the right knee as well as possible bone damage.
