Incident Narrative

An employee was setting highway cones on pavement from the back of a cone/attenuator truck. As the employee finished setting the cones, he placed his hand on the support bracket of the truck-mounted attenuator. At the same time, the driver of the cone truck began to retract the attenuator. The employee's right middle fingertip was then caught and smashed between the attenuator and the support bracket, resulting in a partial fingertip amputation.
