Incident Narrative
An employee was helping a maintenance crew put hammers back on the rotors of a hammer mill. The employee was positioning the rotor while a coworker used a bar to lift it. The rotor rotated downward while being lifted, and the employee's hand was caught in a pinch point between the key stop and frame of the rotor. The employee's left index fingertip was amputated.
