Incident Narrative

A maintenance employee was working on a snorkel lift that was up in the air. He reached down to retrieve something and steadied himself by placing his other hand on the sprocket. The sprocket moved and amputated his right thumb tip, including the nail. The lift guard was not in place at the time of the incident.
