Incident Narrative
WE HAD A LEAK IN THE TERMINAL PIPING DURING THE DISCHARGE OF THE MV NASSAU SPIRIT AT THE FREEPORT MARINE TERMINAL. APPROXIMATELY ONE BARREL OF CRUDE OIL LEAKED INSIDE THE CONTAINMENT BARRIER OF THE METER BANK AREA. LEAK WAS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE PIPE IN A DEAD LEG. THIS SECTION OF PIPE IS BEING REPLACED WITH NEW PIPE. UPDATE 8-4-2011 - NEW SECTION OF PIPE WAS INSTALLED ON 06/24/2011.
