Incident Narrative
PATROL PILOT REPORTED THE GROUND HAD HEAVED ABOVE THE PIPELINE. THERE WAS A BALL OF DRY ICE APPROXIMATELY 4' IN DIAMETER ABOVE THE PIPELINE UNDER THE SOIL. THE LEAK WAS DUE TO A PINHOLE IN A GIRTH WELD ON THE TOP OF THE PIPE. THE LEAKING PIPE WAS CUT OUT 5' ON EITHER SIDE OF THE WELD AND REPLACED.
