Incident Narrative
DURING A ROUTINE STATION CHECK, FREESTANDING CRUDE OIL WAS DISCOVERED IN TWO EXCAVATIONS ASSOCIATED WITH RECENT PROJECT WORK AT THE STATION. THE SOURCE OF THE RELEASE WAS IDENTIFIED AS INTERNAL CORROSION ON DEAD LEG PIPING NEAR THE MANIFOLD. THE PIPING WAS REMOVED ALONG WITH 9.24 TONS OF SOIL.
