Incident Narrative
CRUDE OIL WAS DISCOVERED ON A 16 INCH TRANSFER LINE INSIDE THE TANK BERM OF TANK 5653. THE LINE WAS ISOLATED, HYDRO-EXCAVATED AND THE CRUDE OIL WAS CLEANED UP. THE LINE WAS REPAIRED WITH A CLAMP AND WAS PLACED BACK INTO SERVICE. THE NRC NOTIFICATION WAS MADE WITHIN MINUTES AFTER KNOWLEDGE THAT THE COST WOULD EXCEED 50,000.
