WHILE PERFORMING MAINTENANCE PIGGING, THE PIG LAUNCHER TRAP DRAIN VALVE WAS INADVERTENTLY LEFT OPEN WHILE CHARGING THE BARREL, RESULTING IN A RELEASE OF APPROXIMATELY NINE GALLONS OF CRUDE OIL TO THE GROUND WITHIN THE PIPELINE FACILITY. THE TRAP DRAIN VALVE WAS IMMEDIATELY ISOLATED.
